I think the movie would more than likely suck if Megatron wasn't a major player but thats just my opinion.

I'm good with or without Megs in the movie, but I'm pretty much convinced he's in it at this point.

Someone should ask Michael Bay what his stance on the whole Megatron issue is. If he's smart, he'll raise his hands up and say, "I lied!"

Also, didn't Hasbro say that they wouldn't make a larger figure unless it was strongly tied into the fiction? If the Leader class Megatron that's coming out does turn into a tank(and it very well might, as i'm not completely up on what all has been seen for upcoming toys), i'd bet money that it would be in the movie.

It will be revealed at the end that he's really the dead one, and only Haley Joel Osment can see him.

Just a random question ? Does anyone know if any other autobots or decepticons (example hound, wheeljack, prowl, dirge, astrotrain, blitzwing) are in the movie because I haven't heard many other Decepticons mentioned other than the ones we know of.

I still wasn't sure what to think for Megs, but with all his appearances was starting to lean towards this conclusion. Earlier on I thought maybe just a last 15-20 minutes of the movie type thing.

imo Megs having a big role would be great. It is Transformers and all, you know, Megs vs. Prime and such. The Fallen and making other characters more abscure/less meaningful to the tf paradigm characters such as Jolt and Mudflap made me hope they wouldn't stray too far from the traditional tf-verse (i.e. now maybe Megs vs. Starscream can get the further development it deserves).

Yeah the admin/mods must have had a rough day. With the Devi and such hopefully some of the general negative feedback is understandable. (other than the over-the-top stuff, hopefully you guys don't think of everyone as just bitching and moaning, even when critical opinions of the toys are expressed )

I have a feeling either he's going to be in a dream sequence or show up at the end of the movie kind of like Captian Balbosa in Pirates of the Carribean II

Bay didn't 'lie'. He stated -Megatron- was not in the movie.
There's a reason why one the keychain pictures states 'new character' for his silhouette.
It's been stated before and I'll state it again: HE COMES BACK AS GALVATRON.

This mystery has been solved eons ago. But there will still be people dismissing it, just like the fallen and devastator debates before it.

Yeah my thoughts aswell and seen it discussed a few times before. His new tank form fits in a little more with the canon form of Galvatron. Could also explain why Bay keeps saying Megatron is not in this movie cause its actually Galvatron. Bay can turn around and say "told you so" if it is Galvatron. Either way its pretty obvious he's back as Megatron or Galvatron.

I think it would be silly not to have him in as a major part, although I am worried about him Devastator and The Fallen all trying to get decent screen time.
Plus if I remember correctly an early rumour of Scorp giving up his spark to revive Megs could be true since we saw the 'sand clawer' in the trailer.

Also the Galvatron thing sounds right, but i hope its not coz it means he will spend more time as Galvatron than Megatron in the movieverse.

You clearly aren't familiar with the starting simalarities that would create sucha situation.
1. G1 megs died, bayformers megs died
2. Ancient transformer in G1 movie, ancient transformer in bayformers movie
3. both got new alt modes

Pretty good chance of him being Galvatron if you ask me... but then again bay has been quoted saying "the old cartoons make me sick" in an interview so who knows?

I hope not Galvatron is such a shity name, no offence to people who like it. Plus he hasnt changed enough, and his name has been plastered and packaged as Megatron. So I hope it will stay megatron/

Does anyone have a full picture of his new form, rather than just the snippits linked on the FP news? (I'm not expecting a CGI render but a picture of the stand would be nice.)

They just look too similar. My money is on Galvatron based on the similarities and that Bay says no Megatron. Ive lost bets before but hey its a close match.

Plot:
After the Fallen defeated, the Earth went peace. After the credit, in the dark, there is a black tank rolling and transformed in to Megatron with Red Eyes.

Blam!! Transformers 3: Revenge of Megatron!!!

On one hand I can see why Hasbro would go through all this effort. They might put him in the game, and he might show up in a dream sequence or flashback, like back in Egyptian times. And hey, they're still going to release toys based on him, he's freakin Megatron!

But on the other hand, I saw him in the trailer.

I'm saying no to Galvatron. I'm thinking the "No Megs" statement by Bay was his big "misinformation" campaign.

"Brawl" on packages = "Devestator" in the first movie so who knows.

I'm still wondering how they're gonna explain that one come the second movie.

There can be no Transformers movie/story without a Megatron.

- Barricade is rumored to change sometime in the movie to the audi from the previous mustang altform, and his name hasn't changed. (I still think its a different bot BTW) So that angle of your argument makes no sense.

- Megs got KILLED then brought back to life, and now is a tank instead of a jet. Anyone knowing even the very basic of TF histories knows him being renamed Galvatron isn't a stretch in the slightest.

- Nothing is final from the toy packaging we've seen to this point. Until someone finds a RETAIL ROTF toy saying Megatron nothing is confirmed.

Have you SEEN a side by side of the old form and new form? Skinny arm aside, they're not exactly 'twins'. Anyone else notice the crown shape in his head like the G1 counterpart?

Actually, I take it back. They're gonna try it, and it'll be a swing and a miss. He's more like G2 Megs than Galvatron in bot perspective, but more like Galvatron in alt/origin perspective.

Yeah, I'm on the fence for speculation on this...

How did he get his voice back? While Starscream was bombing the crap out of him? The comic continuity said he lost his voice in battle on Earth. Ratchet wasn't here yet.
