Actor Mark Wahlberg briefly talked about Transformers: Age Of Extinction when he was interviewed at the premiere of his latest movie; Lone Survivor.

“It's a completely different stand-alone movie" Mark told Access Hollywood of fourth Transformers film. "It takes place after the third one, after the battle of Chicago. It's definitely its own story."

"I think it's very different and fresh and people are going to really enjoy it. I had a blast making it," he said. "And you're going to see things in this particular movie that you haven't seen in the other movies."

actor describes his new film as 'fresh' and 'different '? Stop the press!

Oh I remember what Shia Labeof said about Revenge Of Fallen " it's just incredible. You have never seen anything like it!"

Then after it was released an critics blasted it for being a stupid explosion movie and INdiana Jones copy story line, then he said "it could have been done differently".

LOL

Anyone else tired of hearing how AOE is going to be "fresh" and "different" from the rest of the series? We were told the same thing about DOTM and it turned out to be trash.
BR3AKDOWN
"Fresh" and "Different" translates into= Almost exactly like the last.

But hey! One can hope...
reave
Does this count as the first scripted dialogue we've heard from AOE?
HereticalHeresy
Yeah, but... aren't the other two films technically stand-alones? There is barely any continuity.
vektsilver
somebody get wahlberg a new quote generator his is outdated and repeating itsself
ArmedonLSD
he probably still thinks it is a reboot
tonyformer
Come on guys, lets not slam Mark for actually liking him job and getting to be in a movie we all could only dream of being in...
Mega-con
You know what isn't "fresh" and "different?" People that dislike the movies continuing to post that they hate the movies.
Underwear
Yay for Mark Wahlberg. I enjoyed reading dat interview.

Which they will continue to do because it's a TF fan site and they have the right to voice their opinions be it negative or positive.

Put that crap to rest before the sh^t storm.

Anyways, I think that, unless Mark has anything spoilerific to say, that news such as this where he says the same thing he's been saying ever since he's got casted is kinda irrelevent.

Yea we can hope there is some real acting from the human cast...........

This coming from someone that loved MOST of the first three films.

you know what else isn't fresh and different? Sticking with Michael Bay as director, apparently indefinitely.

When they were saying these same kinda things back during ROTF production, I was prepared to give them a second chance. I took them at face value, I really wanted to believe it. That worked out so well!

Same here. I actually like the Movie continuity (FLACK SHIELD: MAXIMUM POWER) as one of my favorites next to Prime, Animated and G1.
Baron Prime
New and Different, eh? Does that mean a compelling story, interesting plot points and a female lead who doesn't need to flash her ass cheeks?
harrismonkey
Any bets on how many more times Mark Wahlberg basically saying "We made a movie", "I had fun" will be front paged as news before this thing actually opens?
SpinalCord
FINALLY just watched DotM for the very first time... what a completely worthless movie. I was not missing anything these past 2.5 years. RotF was a million times better... AoE will more or less be the same

“It's a completely different stand-alone movie"

those are some strong words Mr. Funky Bunch.

Same Old Sh*t, Different Day

That statement is far better written then ROTF. There is hope!
Turakonin Prime
Wahlberg rocks and the movie continuum is badass. Remember Transformers is supposed to be appealing to ALL ages
Magnus' Mate
Can't wait for the movie. I didn't see ROTF or DOTM at cinema (waited for DVD release) but may just go for this one!
Prime Jetscream
I get the feeling he means that it's a continuation that doesn't require you to watch the other movies.

Probably 50% chance that's wrong, though, since it's Bay. Perhaps he told Wahlberg to say that just to be confusing.

I really hope he isn't referring to things like robots riding mechanical dinosaurs.

Many people seem to be excited by it, but the sillyness of Transformers cavalry makes me cringe.

Let them waste their own time.
Lurkertron
He probably hasn't got any idea what the storyline is before dat edit.

"It's starts right after Chicago is blown up, then Detroit is blown up before moving on to varying parts of china being blown up. It's super funky fresh."

I've got £50 on a cybertron prelude before we cut to earth. Blondie bends over to show us what she had for lunch. Probably over a corvette.
Autovolt 127
Well at least Mark Wahlberg is having fun making AOE.
UltraAlanMagnus
You Gotta Love Mark Wahlberg. He's Gonna do good in AOE I Know It. I Liked that he went all hardcore in Pain & Gain & hilarous in TED.
Lurkertron
Hey, make no mistake, Dirk Diggler is infinitely more tolerable than the beef.
But he was never the main problem. Its the cat in the hat and the incompetent writers. And the unbearable Stinkin Park music.

That said, I hope it knocks me on my arse and is actually half decent.
But I also hope I win the lottery and spend the weekend celebrating with Rachel Weisz.
Ash from Carolina
I've liked Mark Wahlberg in a lot of roles from comedies to really serious roles. Heck he's even on my list of actors who seems like they would be fun to pal around with. But damn it feels like we've been down the this time is different this time you will like it path too many times.

Revenge of the Fallen, the writer's strike didn't hurt production in the least and everyone is going to love this movie. You get to Dark of the Moon and it's okay we lied about Revenge of the Fallen but this time we really super mean it that it's totally different and you will totally love it. Now with Age of Extinction it's another this time we really really really mean it that it's different and there is nothing to leave fans disappointed. It's like Lucy with the football and they keep expecting us to be Charley Brown.

I'd love for it to be a great film that I enjoyed from opening frame to end credits, but after too many broken promises about how this time will fix everything I've just lost faith.

Although I do believe the stand alone part because they can't keep continuity and a coherent story across one film much less several films.
LegendAntihero
I've lost faith the TF movies could have a good story but if AoE is good, I might think the movie after it might be good as well.
