During an interview with Digital Spy, actor Mark Wahlberg mentions that Transformers 4 is a standalone movie. Despite many comments stating a smaller budget for the upcoming movie, Mr. Wahlberg says budget-wise it’s the biggest of all of them.
He also mentioned he’s having a great time working with director Michael Bay.
Check out the video at Digital Spy.

1.Okay
2.I meant the simplicity of design (Robots, Car-form) and the story.
The toys are too complicated and the G1 design would have been easy to carry over in a movie.
Okay, it´s a blockbuster but after having watched 1+2 over and over again here are the things I don´t agree with:
1.Witwicki:Such a dumb, slow reacting boy
2.The girl: All she is capable of is looking good and screaming.
3.Sector 7 guy: A freak in such a position?
4. Cut-scenes are mostly too short
etc.
That´s IMO…

I think its time to call in the Jaeger's and get some crossover action and while we are at it lets get Del Toro in here.
With something this funky it will still be better then the trash Bay is making right now

No one seems to care enough to get their stories straight on these movies, and why should they? They'll make the same shitty type of movie with the same shitty actors playing shitty characters (or good actors playing shitty characters, at this point, what's the difference) with a "plot" that goes nowhere.
So if they don't care, why should we? Just as long as we get great toys and the TF franchise continues, why bother to try and make sense out of anything Marky Mark says?
These movies are like the black eyed peas, and even Marky Mark. Yeah, they're awful, useless, soulless tripe, but it doesn't stop them from making millions because people just don't know any better or flat out don't care anymore.

As of right now, this sums it up right now, that MM is either on his own planet, isn't reading the headlines or reports, or is just rambling on.
Regardless, we'll see how this movie turns out.

1) It wasn't Wheeljack.
2) What on Earth does Michael Bay owning a TF toy have to do with his ability (whether you feel it good/bad) to make a blockbuster movie?
I wouldn't call this bad continuity. Plenty of people die in life, we don't feel the need to mention them constantly.
Jolt – was barely a character in ROTF. No need to explain.
Skids/Mudflap – kind of agree. As we know, they were going to be in DOTM but ultimately were cut. Would a mention have been nice? Sure. Would DOTM have been made any better because of it? No (and I like DOTM).
Dolza_Khyron
i think we need to ignore him, at this point, i think he's drunk on the set.

A stand-alone movie would be best given how terrible the plot carryover is across the current 3.
Feralstorm
As long as it's not a new "origin story", I'm fine with it.
's what you get when Michael Bay feeds him answers.
Jigsaw25
Seriously? You're still pissed about ROTF? What about Dark of the Moon and how it improved on a lot of the problems of ROTF? DOTM had many dark moments, no dog humping, no bud brownies, no farting robots, no racist twins, no robot balls etc etc.
DOTM was a big step in the right direction so this film's tone will probably be the most mature.

your last quote. .

Reports show it's a sequel that follows the events several years after the last movie.
Marky Mark: "It's a stand alone movie."
Reports show it's got a lower budget than previous films.
Marky Mark: "It's got the biggest budget of them all."
Reports show Mark Wahlberg is in Transformers 4.
Marky Mark: "I'm having a blast making Go-Bots."

If it's a standalone then explain Remember Chicago?
Shizuka
Apart from the fact that events from the previous movie has always been mentioned. Not quite standalone is it?
Just like how DOTM was going to be more have less toilet humour, more bot screen time, less filler and less parents.
No. Standalone means that the film works on it's own with a self-contained story that doesn't need to be elaborated by the previous films.
Liege Prime
This may not be the best comparison but isn't an actor kinda like a floor employee at a department store? It's the one you see, the one you talk with, the one that helps you and appeases the consumers, but also isn't really privileged to the more important corporate information.
GoodEnough
By standalone movie, he doesn't mean that it's not the sequel to DOTM, he's just saying that the way the movie feels is unlike the tone in the previous three
Mospeada
Standalone doesn't mean reboot. Also, in the same universe as 2 and 3, how can anyone be surprised by a Decepticon attack at this point? How many major cities have been destroyed by them? They're like Godzilla if these are all the same universe. Seal off the city, Decepticons are back.
EpicTransformer
exactly. I mean we've seen the "Remember Chicago" sign and we've seen Leadfoot (the other 2 were seen also but no pics) so……disinformation campaign
EnerJohn
You can watch TF1 and DOTM without watching ROTF. I just tell people, Megatron was bright back online and got half his face blown off, that's all you need to know as to why he looks that way in DOTM.

IMO:
TF 1+2 were not bad. Not very good, but not bad.
Much BoomBoom rather than good stuff…
I actually own movies 1+2 but refuse to buy 3rd movie:
Decepticons can´t fly on their own??? Really? Man…
I´d prefer the story close to G1- Look at the Masterpiece Optimus Prime- WOW – A G1 design engineered to the next millenium- Why do we have to get the weird headed (if that´s a word) Wheeljack and so?
Has Michael (Bay) ever had a TF toy?
Maybe he´s too old for TF?
He´s only 7 years older than me and I´m still a kid inside
Certainly I´ll watch 4th movie,we´ll see. Hopefully number 4 is WAY better than 3. To be frank, I even could live without another movie of Bay, even sold all my toys…
But that´s just me
MV95
Agreed, but considering this probably is having to do with Autobots in hiding, I really don't see how a standalone would work out.
