Feel it! Feel it! Comingsoon.net has posted an article stating that actor Mark Wahlberg (Ted, The Happening, The Other Guys) has been in talks with Transformers 4 director Michael Bay about possibly starring in the next installment of our beloved franchise. The article goes onto state this as a distinct possibility, as the two have just come off working together on the upcoming film Pain and Gain. Director Michael Bay was quick to reply to this news, posting on his website: “The Mark Wahlberg T4 rumor is just a rumor. Mark and I are talking about another film project”. Bay is quick to not confirm or deny the rumor.
Interesting side not to this story; Mark sings Stan Bush’s power rock song from the 1986 Transformers film, “You Got The Touch” in 1997’s Boogie Nights.

Evidently the Internet gave MB some ideas:
Yeah. Really. Thanks. This is what happens when rumors get started.

There are worse actors to get attached to further TF films. Wahlberg has his own fan-following. My main concern would be who that exercises out, from the prior cast: Josh Duahmel, or Tyrese Gibson.
While neither gent is officially attached, character-wise, both make sense to continue in the franchise.
Much as I like Wahlberg – unless there's a major shift in writing quality (doubtful), I will likely not give 2 *(^s about his character.
No thanks!! I haven't been impressed yet w/ Pettyfer's acting in either "I Am Number 4" nor "Magic Mike".
Not an angle I'd considered.
I can't see Wahlberg doing VA work, except as a secondary thing (like John Tuturro as Jetfire). He's a in-front camera actor.

Could be he's a fan, he's about the right age.
And looking back at the Bay movies so far, all the parts with Josh Duhmel, Tyreese and the other military guys are probably the better parts of the movie.
So maybe he's going to be part of the Military? Perhaps the new leader of Sector 6? (that other guy was a joke gone on too long)
And I'm going to say, he might not be the BEST actor out there, but he's gone a long way to distance himself from that Funky Bunch persona. Go rent the Departed, if anyone was bad in that flick it was Jack Nickleson.

It would be spectacular if it was.

I am pretty sure in Marky Marks contract for Planet of the Apes he was not to be called Marky Mark.

Whos gonna be his energon storm buddy?

This just in:
"Mark Wahlberg is voicing Alpha Trion!!!"

And how do we know he's not lying?

Well I guess you won't be watching any Transformers movies the rest of your life.

I kinda like this idea. Just leave earth and humans out completely. If Wahlberg is in it, let him voice a robot.
Jakest123
NEST, much?
JavaJim
Please no. Whalberg is the gaming / comic killer.
DarkSkyfire
If there are any humans in the movie, the movie will suck.

Also…
There's another possibilty everyone seems to be ignoring, that he could simply be voicing a bot, personally I like that idea, he'd be fine for Hot Rod, or any other brash unamed bot, that will exist as a character from the continuity, and toyline, but will be renamed last minute by Bay. Wahlberg will be a backhoe, and his name will be "Diggler."
