Actor and good friend of TFW2005; Mark Ryan is publishing his Autobiography (titled as Hold Fast) this April and it contains his adventures on the 4 Transformers Live Action Movies by Director Michael Bay.
Mr. Ryan is not only the Robot stand-in during the principal photography, but also the voice of several Cybertronians including Bumblebee, Jetfire and most recently Lockdown.
“Recently he has become a familiar name as the voice of Bumblebee – the best loved robot in the ‘Transformers’ franchise, and found himself travelling the world, signing toy replicas of the famous yellow car. To date he has worked on all four installments of the hugely successful movie franchise, either as character voices or as the onset voice of the Autobots during filming. In the past year he has starred as Gates, a leading character in the Michael Bay produced, Starz Network TV franchise ‘Black Sails’.”You can grab more info from Mythwood Books.

I guess "I hate the movies" is all the excuse some people need to crap on someone who is by all accounts a friend to TF fans, a contributor to the mythos, and a friend of TFW.
You guys stay classy, now.
QLRformer
His name is Mark Ryan. Not Riley or Ryling.
Please have the decency to get his name right.
kaotika
maybe.
but mark riley isnt a name that jumps out as a memorable name or memorable roles from the tf franchise.
esp from movies with castrated robot chraaterizeation. emoting as bay bee isnt a resume highlihgt.
there was more bee in the first 2 mins of mtmte (g1) and the first 2 mins of tf and roll out (tfa) than all 4 movies combined.
so saying 'martin ripley, voice of bumblebee' doesnt have the same ring as like your scott mcneils or your dan gilvezans or your neil caplans or your michael bells or your david kayes or your jeff bennetts or your parvesh cheenas or your guy-who-did-armada-rad-and-cyb-hot-shot.
marcus ryling is just not someone ppl are going to line up for to get their autograph.
cos im sorry but hey who were you and how many minutes did it take you to record your lines of which there were probably only single digits?

Yep, lots of bitter nastiness out today.
Good for Mark. He was great in the old Robin Hood show!
QLRformer
It is rather harsh, but then they should have used Lockdown or Jetfire rather than Bee, who is predominantly mute.
In any case, I hope some kind fan will upload TF-related stuff from the biography onto TFW2005, for those unfortunate people who cannot get the biography itself.
Autovolt 127
Guys that's rather harsh don't you think?
daniel 97
Oh that's it! Mark if you read this, Will Friedle does a better Bumblebee than you, but you shouldn't care you were astonishing as LOCKDOWN and I hope you get another role in TF5!
bman29
Intersting. I did enjoy his work on Lockdown and Jetfire.
First time I heard Jetfire I got a piratey vibe. I thought it was a riff on Capt. Jack Sparrow, if not only in appearance. Lockdown with the South African game hunter accent a little.
Has anyone on here watched Black Sails? I thought about checking it out. Heard it was a more serious tone on pirates and has a lot of bewbs.

Interesting.
kaotika

looks up name.

forgets half of roles.
well good on….
looks up name again.
… him i guess.

forgets remaining roles.
congratulations ryan marcus, voice of … i want to say… jolt?
wait.

He voiced Bumblebee at the end of the first Transformers movie. Yeah it's hardly a large speaking role, but it remains a speaking role and it's not exactly uncommon for something to be exaggerated and hyped when giving it the hard sell. The dude has done tons of stuff regardless, voicing two of the most memorable characters (Jetfire and Lockdown) in the live action franchise to start with.
The13Primes
Perhaps he is the radio presenter?
dare
"Voice of Bumblebee"? Talk about stretching that upsell factor.
I'm sure he's a nice guy and all, but he just comes across as the guy who just can't seem to catch a big break. He was in most of the Transformers films but no one really cared.
General Tekno
This is gonna be a really interesting read.
Mark Ryan had some fantastic stories at his panel back when he was at TFcon, and I imagine those were just scratching the surface.
SilverOptimus
That is correct, Hollywood Hoist. The Autobiography contains a part of the TF movie history, that's why we considered this as a news to be front paged.
kaijuguy19
Mark Ryan I felt did an awesome job on vocing Jetfire and Lockdown in the movies and he was enjoyable in his role as one of the characters in Robin of Sherwood.
Hollywood Hoist
A biography on one of the voices from Transformers, how is it not news?
The13Primes
How is this even news worthy sorry but no
T-Logicon
Slow news day….
