 | | | Isabel Lucas To Appear in Transformers 2 | | Posted on 05-07-2008 at 02:24 PM by Tim Formas | | Australian-based Meisner Management Agency is reporting that one of their clients, Isabel Lucas, has been attached to appear in Transformers 2 as "Alice". Ms. Lucas (IMDB profile) is a relative newcomer to the international audience, but is most well known to Australians for her role in the TV Series Home and Away.

I don't really see the difference between her and racheal taylor(sp)...not that I'm opposed to 2 hot, blonde, great legs (would like to see em both together in a different film)...anyway, yeah, i have to agree, More robots would be excellent!!
Railguard: I could not have said it better myself. Dropshot:
I just googled some images of her, and she has the same type as rachael taylor, so why don't bring her back instead of casting someone who looks just like her?
She looks really hot in some pics, but in others a little dorky.
Zaraxion1021:
Thats good.........BUT when are they gonna spoil new robots for the TF2 Movie!!? I cant wait to figure out what autobot or decepticon are in the movie! =(
MV75: Ha ha ha.
There were humans in the 1986 movie remember? Even the first cartoon series. Damn you Hasbro! There arn't any people on earth!
But maybe they should make this transformers DBZ, where they are on earth, (or any planet really), but just happen to largely ignore that the planet is populated by people/indiginous lifeforms and that there are vast expanses of nothingness everywhere (canyons and rivers), that they can fight in.
KA-ME HA-MA, HAME.. HAMA... TRANSFORM AND ROLL OUT!
evebird:
TF2 = more of the same from TF1.
Velcrohead:
Great horny toads, Transfans! Are you guys THAT scared of girls? For me, having HOT BABES and TRANSFORMERS at the same time is the very definition of HELL YEAH!! Gimme some more hottie good-bodies along with my transforming bots!
Admit it, guys... you fondle your She-Ra doll every once in a while don't you. I know you do. If it makes you feel better, you can take She-Ra with you to the theater, but wipe the KY off first, because that's just gross.
Alright, time to tune out nerdboy whinings and go get lucky...
Autobot 47:
Hmm, sounds right from some here - they could have kept Rachel Taylor, I liked her, wouldn't mind as a regular cast. BTW: Did I missed a script draft?? Why do you guys know much more about the characters? Can someone point me to the right thread?

Seriously, if people want to see a live-action movie strictly about robots fighting, then that's fine, but enjoy seeing it with nothing but weiners in the theater all around you and less than half the people there that watched last year's movie. Geez, TF2 is not being made to please TF geeks; it's about making $$$.

Transformers should serious. War isn't about funny car dealers and urinating robots and getting your "L O L s" in any way shape or form.
We need more death, destruction, grief, sadness, merciless slaughter, and stoicism. But no more explosions, because we don't want a movie that's all explosions like every one of Bay's movies has been so far.
I've learned much from movie threads.

And thats exactly what should be in the next TF TV series. Easy on killing characters off though.

I hope that this time around, they do focus more on the robots, and also that the following are improved:
a)more robots and I hope they retain some of their previous characteristics, i.e., Soundwave having his synthesizer-like voice, Devastator (or whatever he'll be called)being recognizable, Starscream having his whiny voice, etc.;
b)the plot - minimal to no plot holes;
c)characterizations - more, and better character development;
d)dialog - while it was good in some parts (i.e., Sam telling Mikaela that she's, "More Than Meets The Eye", LOL!!!),some of the dialog was a little stale;
e)no more humans unless it is absolutely integral to the story; since this sequel may be darker in tone to the first film, it may be necessary to have more humans, however they don't have to have as much focus, IMHO;
f)plausible resolution(s) of certain things such as, how Megatron will be revived IF he does get revived, what happened to Barricade;
g)End the film on a heavy, down note.
vektsilver:
honestly there is more focus on who is going to be in the movie human wise than Transformer wise.
The Excuse is the transformers cost to much to render well what the F#$% why did they make them so ridiculously complex and they cant even transform correctly still. I think they could have found a better compromise but noooo that would have probably looked to G1. To me it sounds like someone is trying to make a film for their resume whether its the writers or directors. What makes me think think that is Hollywood traditionally looks at human actors and shuns the cgi actors.
Call me crazy but I kinda want a Transformers movie where the Transformers are the spotlight and not just there for the ride. In the first movie all the action centered around on the humans and not the robots and we got one crappy seen of them on an observatory with the most generic of lines to read. I mean come on the tranformations are so bad in that movie They avoid as much as possible showing the complete transformation and when they do Its so obviously fake transformation that its more morphing than anything. If the complexity / cost is the reason I dont get more bots then make the god damn tranfomations complete.
Personally i hope in the first 5 minutes a bio weapon is deployed wiping out earths population so the human part of the movie is relegated to where it should be. A backdrop

Personally if this movie doesnt garner a review saying its more than just the same movie with a part 2 at the end I wont be seeing it. I imagine I m not the only one who feels that way
Trailbreaker77:
Cool, is Megan Fox returning as well? I want to see a chick fight. I thought the role that rachel played was not returning. So why would this woman play the same part with a different name?

Isabel Lucas in TF2, huh? As Alice? Who's this Alice character? I don't remember reading about a character by that name... or maybe I just need to be online more often to keep up with things?

On a more serious note, can someone explain to me why I keep reading these threads? They're like brain posion.
Ash from Carolina:
Gods I hope they hired for a cat fight in the film because it would be nice if at least one fight wasn't all blurry shakey gritty cam and close up pointless busy bits. Then again they likely hired her to kill Starscream because she has stick with a nail in it or something.
Anyone though expecting anything than more of the same needs their mental health checked on. Bay has never grown as a director so don't expect him to wake up one morning before filming to be hit with what he does wrong as a director. Even if he was magically infused with talent beyound things going boom the people with money invested in the film aren't going to let him change the cash cow. They are just going to run the franchise into the ground on the third film like so many other franchises.
Guess we might as well have someone cute since we are likely to get flooded with a human cast again because you know everyone loves the secondary characters more than the characters the name of the film says. At least she's not a pile of walking scrap like the robots in the movie.
Thundercrackah:
Hmm wonder how Alice will fit into the story. As long as she's not a hacker it's all good.
Can't wait for the second movie, the first one was great, in fact I'm more excited for the movies than I am Animated.

Also, I don't know what you people are expecting. It's a Michael Bay movie. You're going to get what you expect, and since the first piece of mind-numbing garbage made so much money, he probably isn't going to stray too far from the formula. We just need to watch it for what it is when it comes out, and stop complaining beforehand.

When a movie does very well and the director is, oh, not named Coppola, Nolan, Cameron, Singer, Del Toro, or Jackson, a popular move is to put out a sequel that's identical to the original. But with "more." More explosions, more boobs, more car chases. And these sequels do amazingly well. |
Riiiiight...Take Fast and the Furious. First one was different. No plot. All eye candy and boobs. All adrenaline. But even the dumb american movie goers got tired of all that crap with the 2nd one. Now its a DVD bench warmer. I can't believe someone is defending Hollywood's business model of churning out the same crap with the same storylines. I initially thought they underestimated US intelligence but now I think that the US as a whole has degenerated to the lowest common denominator.

You get what you pay for and what you're paying for is a Michael Bay flick. There isn't going to be much deviation from his norm.
Just enjoy the flick for what it is, and realize it could be worse. Who knows, they might still surprise us yet as we still don't know what exactly any of the human characters will be doing.
Also, like someone else mentioned, it isn't safe to criticize the movie on these boards, since the minute you do, you're branded as a hater, so just go along and love everything MB, DM, SS, Paramount, etc. is throwing at us....it's saves us all from reading rants from BOTH sides.
BamBam25:
1. I'm assuming no Megan Fox this time around, no? Is this Alice the new love interest to Spike (I still refuse to call him Sam)?
2. Let me see the robots take center stage this time, homie!

As much as I personally enjoyed it, I have a few complaints of my own. What I have a problem with is all the ranting that it needs to be a perfect translation of an 80s cartoon in order to be good. That Starcream needs to have a winy voice, and there can be no humans ever (even though the movie takes place on Earth). I love G1 too, but if I saw those robot designs in CGI and on the big screen, I'd be too busy laughing to take the movie seriously. It just doesn't work the way some fanboys want it to, for many, many reasons.
And just to clarify since I can't really translate my tone with text. I'm not meaning any disrespect to anyone's opinion. You're welcome to love or hate the movie as much as you want. But please, try to understand, this film is not G1, and not everyone's first exposure to the wonderful world of Transformers was with G1.
Thank you for your time.

Thank you for your time. | Dude, completely understand what you're saying. You're one of the few who can take people criticizing the movie without taking it personally. It just seems that people are allowed to bash on other who dislike certain aspects of the movie.
I think it's just better to realize that considering this is a MB/DM flick, it could be worse and enjoy the films for what they are, even if they don't do the TF's justice. That's what I did for the first one, and enjoyed it, even the really aweful parts, just because you have to, otherwise, you'll drive yourself crazy.
If these movies aren't "Transformers" to certain people, we have Animated, which has given the Transformers themselves more characterization and a much more cohesive story in a kids show aimed at children than G1 ever did, or a big budget MB Hollywood flick can ever hope to achieve.

Thank you for your time. | Are people still complaining that the movie isn't G1 enough? Of all the complains from the first movie, I would think that one is irrelevant and hardly used now that we know what we're getting...and most have accepted the Transformer related changes.
I see the no more humans complaints being more of "oh more human casting news and not hearing ANYTHING about the Transformers that sucks". Of course we're gonna have humans, but in the minds of many, EVERY minor human role cast that is front-paged just makes the sequel...well not a sequel, but more of the original that most don't want to see. (Though the we're gonna get same old same old regardless so lets not fool ourselves here).
IMO know we're gotta get the same shit from Bay. First, cause it worked in the original. Second, Bay is no visionary director and the one sequel he ever did (Bad Boys 2) was a carbon copy of the first. In a morbid kind-of-way, I'm gonna enjoy hearing all the bitching when it comes to scene where Sam's parents move him into the dorm and they give him some new version of the "Sam's happy time" speech.

Since Hollywood loves to just copy each other while still attempting to one up each other maybe some of Iron Man can rub off on other films so that we get clear effects shots. A bit too much to ask for the timing on the humor in the movie, but hey I guess one step at the time.
