Isabel Lucas Confirmed for Transformers 2 by Michael Bay lucas
Transformers Director Michael Bay has confirmed that Isabel Lucas has indeed been cast in Transformers 2 per previous reports. On his own Shoot for the Edit message board, Mr. Bay stated:

Hey, I went to work today thinking I was four weeks away from shooting and by 11:30 I found out I'm just three weeks away. How time fly's. Isabel - no Steven did not pick her - it just makes a good sound bite for press. Yes, I did give her the part. - True story.

Nice, I wouldn't mind seeing her in the film, but last time I chacked, isn't Transformers supposed to be about, oh I don't know, giant transforming robots?

Exactly. I thought they would've learned from the first movie: Less humans, MORE ROBOTS.

UM...the first movie was a huge success. so wouldn't the only thing to learn be change nothing and mantain the status quo?
Bigbot3030:
Not that i'm complaining, but that would be the second hot austalian female in a transfromers movie. Me thinks bay is working out a fetish.

Again, not that I'm complaining.....
Witwicky Camaro:
Australlia (sp?), again? Eh, I don't mind (though she kinda looks like Maggie Madsen's actress). But, yes, MORE TRANSFORMERS!
Enigma2K2:
well, here comes another "breakthrough female performance" nomination from MTV...

A friend told me recently that she finally got around to seeing Transformers on DVD. I asked her what she thought and she said it was awesome, that Shia and Megan were hot. I then asked her if she noticed the giant transforming robots at all.

Anyway, abundance of human characters aside, she reminds me too much of Rachel Taylor. Perhaps Maggie is getting recast?

Shhhhhh... Round these parts, criticizing the movie gets you labeled a "geewoner" and the movie fanboys will defend it to the end. Best to just lie and say it was the best movie of 2007, or maybe even the best movie ever.

Anyway, bring on more (and better looking) fighting robots!

Also, I find her boring as she looks like just another ultra generic "attractive" female. Im quickly getting very sick of seeing those types.
Darkscreamer785:
Hm, another human character to appear in "Sam Witwicky and His Robot Friends 2". This movie is gonna be just like the first one.
smkspy:
Ladies and Gentlemen! In this corner weighing-in at hundred and fifteen pounds we have another extremely hot aussie girl casted in Transformers 2.

And this corner weighing-in at a hypothetical eight cabillion pounds is internet outrage!

Lets get ready to grumble!!!!!

If I was a "geewoner", would I say this:
BEAST WARS WAS BETTER THAN G1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(Me:Sentinel online, activate flame shield, maximum power, Sentinel:Acknowledged)
Still, I don't mind the human interaction at all, I just think they need to cut down on it and give the Transfromers some screen time and characterization(especially the 'cons)

I take it you're one of those who put the movie on a pedestal and found absolutely no shortcomings in it whatsoever. That's cool.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the movie. That said, I feel it could've been leaner in its casting as IMO there were several human characters whose roles could've been less pronounced or eliminated altogether.

I would like to add that in addition to more screen time there should be more bots and cons in quantity as well.
BumbleVeeNH:
For god's sake, when are they going to just throw Michael bay down the well and hire on Guillermo Del toro to do the movies, hell even peter jackson. those two actually are transformers fans, they'd stick to more bots, less boobs. ( yeah I'm looking at you anthony andersen) Oh and notice they have witwicky's but no Chip Chase? oh yeah that's right, there's no ark so no need for a smart kid to fix/interact with the computer. I swear that it's high time that Hollywood sticks to formats. First that blowout ending of Xmen 3, now more "headlining" characters for TF2...

I got an idea Mike Bay, how about announcing you just signed on Arcee or Cliffjumper for a role for a change. I'd rather be surprised about the human characters that show up and drooling at the bots you announce as being included.

okay that was my rant, my blood pressure's down now. continue
Runamuck:
Yay.....another "pretty face".
Thundercrackah:
Ugh, why must every single movie news thread degenerate into the same old crap.

As for the news, more aussie eye candy? Works for Bay and it works for me.

I don't think Havok was acting like you said. With respect to both of you, it just seems like Havok was pointing things out the way Hollywood sees it. And I agree with him. When a movie does very well and the director is, oh, not named Coppola, Nolan, Cameron, Singer, Del Toro, or Jackson, a popular move is to put out a sequel that's identical to the original. But with "more." More explosions, more boobs, more car chases. And these sequels do amazingly well.

I can't speak for Havok, but I know that I disagaree with it being "good" that Bay seems to be going for the 80% human 20% robot ratio. But I agree that, yes, Bay seems to be doing just that. It would just be so much more reassuring if we had news like, "Michael Bay confirms Jeff Bennett as the voice of Ultra Magnus for TF2."
Liokaiser:
So is Alice going to be Sam's college classmate?

I agree, but the status quo is too boring. We could benefit from a little change.
Optimus747:
Jesus, it's more than a year away from supposed release, filming hasn't even begun, and already the extreme hatred preceding the first movie is starting to boil up again.
There have to be human characters. It can't be all Transformers. However, I agree that the main focus should be on Transformers moreso than the humans, something the first movie didn't quite do. Perhaps "Alice" has a few minutes of screen time. It's not like the entire movie is going to be about her.
It's like I've said in the past: the way I see it, the first movie was "setting the scene," introducing Transformers into the human world, and thus the focus on the humans. Now that we know what the Transformers are and why they're on Earth, the second movie can focus more on them, on their war more than on our world. I'm hoping that there will be a LOT more bot-to-bot interaction, you know, scenes with actual discussions amongst Autobots and planning amongst Decepticons. The only scene(s) like that in the first movie were when the Autobots were at the white building near the Hoover Dam, and, to an extent, when Starscream was talking to Megatron.
There will have to be humans, though, because it's humans watching the movie, and we need people to relate to. After all, humans are the inhabitants of this planet, so the effect of an all-out war between alien robots would definitely have an impact on the lives of humans, so this will likely be shown. I don't think it's all going to be a big, covered-up secret this time around. I'm sure the Decepticons won't be careful about who they reveal themselves to; not to mention half a city got destroyed in the last movie by these robots, so people probably already know what's up.
Again, I'm not saying that there should be tons of human screen time. I wish there had been more Transformers screen time in the first one. With the huge profit made from the first movie, I'm sure Bay can afford to put in more Transformers and give them a lot more screen time in this sequel, so I don't think that'll be a problem. But humans are an important part of the story, like it or not. It was that way in G1; Sparkplug, Spike, Daniel, Chip, that Hispanic kid that hung out with Tracks, and random other human characters all played big roles throughout the episodes.
So before jumping on the hate wagon, take some time to think it over before overreacting.
DieMaus:
I'm going to agree that the lack of robot news, thus far, shouldn't be a major concern. The film is only just gearing up to start shooting, and naturally, they;re going to have to start with the human scenes; ILM can't very well get to work adding the robots in if they've no footage to add them to, now can they? Even if that weren't the case, though, I still wouldn't expect to see the vast majority of the big robot reveals until much, much later, perhaps not even until the film itself; say what you will about Michael Bay and co, but these guys are professional showmen, they know what the audience want, and understand the principles of teasing and revealing. You really think they're going to come out and tell us the entire robot cast list -or indeed ANY of the robot cast list - a year before release?

Just be patient, is my advice. We KNOW for a fact that there'll be more robots this time; quite apart from the fact that Bay, Orci, Kurtzman and everybody have stated as much, the nature of this film's setup, which has the Autobots on Earth from the get-go, dictates that there must be more time spent with them. We'll get our announcements and our robots in due course...for now, we just wait.
Liege Prime:
There's no telling how much screen time anyone in the film is going to have, and we know it still has to have a human cast. As far as the actress, I have no clue as to her abilities, and there about a bajillion US actresses that are talented and at least "hollywood" hot, so I'm not sure who keeps feeling the need for an Aussie.

Anyways, I know the first one made a lot of money, but despite that I doubt it's going to get a budget to allow a good human to bot ratio. Every second of bots on screen is like what? Around half a million dollars or so?
Mega-con:
OMG, they announced another human. There aren't going to be any robots. Kill Michael Bay. This movie sucks.

Shut. Up.

Well she was on an Australian tv drama for about two years.

She also one an Aussie version of an Emmy for 'Best new talent'
jono:
No No No....

If I had my way, there'd be no girls in this movie at all.

There'd be no love story and no cheesy human relationship crap apart from that of a boy & his car that TransForms.

Then there'd be a shit pile of huge robots that can TransForm into various mechanical items that all smash the shit out of each other.

That would make it a movie about TransFormers, called TransFormers and we obviously can't be having that.

Yeah, and in totally unrelated news, she, along with Hayden Panettiere, are wanted in Japan for that dolphin hunt protest. I only mention this because criminals are apparently hot.

QFT! if i had to describe the first one in one word it would be,"CORNY" and if anything it'll be even more so this time around. more retarded humor, useless human subplots, and a sprinkling of horrible looking robots. actually, seeing iron man made me despise the first one even more. favreau was a fan and stayed true to the character and we got a kick ass movie. bay had no clue at all, just thought they were stupid toys, insulted the fans, didn't stay true to anything, etc, etc and we got a total piece of shit(no offense to those who liked it) but it made crazy jack so why not make the same thing all over again mabe with just some new bots that we'll probably hardly see on screen.

Don't think that really matters when it comes to how Bay casts female roles in his movies. Just look at the way he, his casting staff and Megan Fox herself described how she got her part: needed to be young & hot, have a flat stomach (which will be exposed most of the time), and needed to know how to run. Any acting ability just seems to be an added bonus... which is the case for 95% of chicks in movies nowadays.

Obviously there have to be humans in Bayformers, so I'm not surprised by these new roles we're hearing about. I am surprised, however, that we're getting yet another Australian blonde bombshell who almost looks like the one from the first movie. That's seems surprisingly redundant. Topped with the rumored news of that other Megan Fox look-a-like brunette we heard about a few weeks ago, I'm getting the distinct impression that Bay not only has a VERY specific taste in girls, but evidentially likes them in multiples.
Starscream NZ:
Judging by her role on Home and Away, no, she can't act. She's less entertaining to watch than Mikaela or Maggie, though then again as Tasha on H&W was a shitty one at that (hated the character) - if the role of Alice is more exciting then perhaps she'll do a better job of it. Can't say she wowed me otherwise, though it's nice to not see a strictly American cast.
llamatron:
Wow, you guys are nuts. Guess what? There have to be humans in a live action movie and they have to be cast. We're not going to hear about the robots for a long time because a) they don't need to be cast and b) they will try to keep them secret.
Railguard:
I dunno, call me picky but I'd rather watch the "Transformers" themselves then watch a chick who would probably do a better job in a chick flick. The human characters are starting to get annoying.
NIDARAM12:
You guys are crazy if you think the human cast isn't going to be at least as big as the first film.
ckhtiger:
she's smokin! I like smokin girls, and the movies about transformers. makes me happy
Optimus747:
What is this crap?!?! This is so friggin ridiculous!! Why the frig would they add another human character?! That's ALL the movie's gonna be now, friggin ALICE this, ALICE that. She's good looking so she obviously can't act for crap. Bay better listen up and give the humans a BRIEF CAMEO at MOST, maybe five or ten minutes long, then leave the rest of the movie to fighting between TRANSFORMERS not SOLDIERS, not HACKERS, not PEOPLE, TRANSFORMERS. AUTOBOTS and DECEPTICONS. Enough of the lame humans in this movie. This is called "Transformers" not "People." What was Bay thinking when he decided he wanted humans in a movie about giant alien robots!!!?!?!
