BHiga6181:
Hey -
So I just got back from the Chicago auto show. First let me say that I cant wait to see Sideswipe in ROTF, this car is BEAUTIFUL (and Im a Ford Guy). I talked to the rep, here are a few details, most of which we already knew -
1 - There was only 1 fully functional Corvette StingRay Concept created, the other 2 were shells.
2 - This was created specifically for ROTF and will NEVER be produced
The car that was there was a shell with no true interior but still it was gorgeous. Also the new Bumblebee Z28 is nice. The few body modifications are the only true change and the Chevy spokesperson also said the Z28 might be produced, all depends on the economy.
The Bumblebee on display was a fully functioning Z28 and was sued in filming which was easy to see as the windshield was scratched to all hell and the car had a few nicks and dings on it. Still very impressive.
Pics uploading now...
Omnius:
Is that 'Cliffjumper' in the background of the last pic?
AniProwl:
Nice pics! I like the Auto Show in Chicago. Were you able to go in any of the featured movie cars?
Skylock:
These are hot. Camaro, awesome as always. I'm digging Skids, but not Mudflap. The Stingray concept is sick, I just don't like the exhausts. Wish I could see these in person, guess I'll jsut have to settle for the LA auto show
Omegatron1:
Pretty shiny cars. Whets my appetite for the movie that much more.

The stingray is awesome apart from those 4 pipes on the back. Man why did GM's designers suddenly not become bland and unimaginative when they could very well go bust any time soon?
TRANS+CRAZY:
When I saw the Chevy Volt, then took note that the character who turns into it is named Jolt, my first thought was "How appropriate... makes it easy for us to remember that Jolt is a Volt."
Nice Corvette. Such a shame it was created only for ROTF and not going to be produced. Corvette fans are so going to want that car.
Blitz.:
well its actually known as the Stingray concept now and it was made to celebrate the anniversary of the corvette (or some other chevy annie I dunno) and it just so happens that its in TF2 (uber product placement) but sadly their are no plans for production but it might set the tone for the C7
Dave_6:
Nice pics, thanks!

Actually not correct. This was designed on paper (or PC) for a tribute to the Stingray but got put on hold. Then after the success of TF 1, the producers and Chevy got together and the green light was given to produce 1 functioning version specifically for ROTF.
Has nothing to do with product placement as this car is never going into production.
The only reason this car saw the light of day was due to the success of the first Transformers movie.
As far as the C7, it will share the body of whatever year Corvette is out when (and if) it is made as is the tradition of all the Corvette C series.
Waveride:
Ah bummer tell me you filmed the footage of ROTF playing on the screen, the alternate trailer playing. I think you should post all this pictures in the CAS topic in the news section.
BHiga6181:
No that is not Cliffjumer in the background. It is the Production model for the 09 SS Camaro, very nice (But the paint scheme would be perfect for Cliffjumper)
No bot pics. The only Bot present was BB and we have all seen that 18 foot stand up in pics since the first movie so I passed on snapping pics of him.
Railguard:
That Vette rocks!!! They should really put it out.
PorkChopKB:
I am sporting wood over that stingray concept.. all I have to say about that.
I wish I had the extra cash.. I would be all over a new camaro. awesome car.
Jason Blue Boost:
That would be the only Vette that could replace my current C5 Tigershark twin turbo. Hopefully the C7 will be something like this. Can't wait to go to the show next week. Was there any Transformer literature there, Bill?
Paradigm-Shift Prime:
Sweet. I REALLY like the Stingray! Not so much the others.
chapsy:
does it ever bother anyone else that bumblebee has no brake calipers?
especially since this bumblebee is made on an ACTUAL camaro?
that being said, those new chevy compacts look REALLY nice. I'm diggin skids and mudflap.
stingray concept is gorgeous too. especially the profile and the frontend.
BHiga6181:
I asked about the missing calipers and they said they did not know why those werent there. I did get to see this BB Z28 upclose and it is a functioning Camaro, I got a peak under the hood but wasnt allowed to photo it.
Nope no transformers literature.
Also they said based on the specs of the 1 produced Stingray Concept, the cost to consumer would be close to 100K based on materials, performace, etc and that a $100K vette would never sell, especially in the current economy. So they made it very clear at the show that the StingRay Concept will NEVER see the light of day. They dont want any rumors to begin.
Sam Witwicky:
I want that Bumblebee Camaro so bad its not funny. Good thing I don't live in Chicago or I would probably go to that and try stealing that car.
sideways2:
First of all... all the cars look great!
But wouldnīt be it much cooler if Sideswipe would be a Lamborghini like in early days.
Somehow it seems that the Movie is getting a long TV-Commercial for GM.
Iīm glad that they put in the Audi R8.
I mean before the last Movie started they talked about itīs hard to keep the budget within the bounds of possibility so they were supperted by one manufractor. But the Movie was a great succes.
So why Videogames can crash up expensive european cars and Movies can not?
I really hope they gonna change this within the third Movie.
I mean some cars are born to be a Transformer.
Look at the Volkswagen Passat CC, especially the Front and rear Lights, that would be a great Transformer (maybe BlueStreak)
Would be great if anybody would take the same opinion...
