One of director Michael Bay's favorite actors, Glenn Morshower, will return in Transformers 3. The Actor page on his official website confirms his casting in the movie, although his role is unknown at this time. Glenn Morshower portrayed the role of Colonel Sharp in the first movie and was killed when Blackout destroyed the Soccent base. In Revenge of the Fallen, Glenn played the role of General Morshower.

anything's possible

No reason to believe it's not real. I'm just not sure if it's 'news'.

Where in the first ?
Fit For natalie
He was Colonel Sharp in the first movie. The commander of the SOCCENT base Blackout destroyed.
Ratchet2007
Ah !
Creaky
I'd want him to return, but only if he's a different character.

I want to believe that there's a whole family of Glen Morshower clones out there, because that would make the world a better place.
Ikkstakk
Wait a minute. His character was supposed to be a different guy in the second movie?
PoweredConvoy
Yes because he died in the first film (everyone except Lennox's crew died at that base).

Autobot_Wall-E
He seems to be to Transformers as John Ratzenberger is to Pixar. He'll be in every film just because he can be I guess.
jgoss
yes he was a different character in rotf he was in command of nest
Ikkstakk
D'oh! I always figured that he just happened to survive the attack, and since the military was trying to keep the Transformers a secret, they put him in charge of NEST since he already knew about them.
Omega Charge
It would be cool if he dies at the hand of a Decepticon this time.

Um...last I checked...he died at the hands of Blackout...because Blackout destroyed the whole base. Making him die a the hand of a Decepticon.

Unless you imply that he die again at the hand of a Decepticon?

Glenn Morshower is a real military officer. He played Colonel Sharp in the 07 movie and was killed in the SOCCENT attack. For some reason, Bay had him come back but play as "himself" as a General and a leader figure of NEST.

It really wouldn't surprise me if Morshower comes back to reprise his role from ROTF.

Yes, and I wont be surprised if he's yet a different character in the third one if he's in it.
Gingerchris
Decepticon Pretender!! That's why there's at least two of the guy.

Everyone's a Pretender in TF3. Even Sam. Mikaela broke down and he ordered a new model.

What a twist!

Isn't he one of Bays go to guys, being in most, if not all his movies...???
Ikkstakk
Just checked imdb, he was in Pearl Harbor and The Island. I'd say he's a lock for TF3.

Oh, and by the by: though he's called "Colonel Sharp" in TF1, the credits list him as "SOCCENT Sergeant," so there's one discrepancy already. And in ROTF, the (unreliable) credits list him as "General Morshower" but he's only ever called "General" in dialogue. I still like him as the same guy. It would be far from the worst plothole in this franchise.

He played the helicopter pilot who was coming to pick up Stockweathers(Michael Clark Duncan) liver.

Yeah, that would be the logical thing to do, but this is a Bay movie, the logical doesn't happen.
megatroptimus
I hope he's back with a 3rd role in 3 movies. That'd be hilarious.
HIM666fan
would be cool if ..... like soundwave or shockwave use him as like a deco or somthing along the lines.
Bovril
I hate when the same actor is used to portray different characters within a single piece of fiction. Really kills the immersion factor.

Worst instance I can think of is that guy who played 'Jack Wade' in a couple of the Pierce Brosnan Bond movies, having already been a villain in a previous Bond film.
bignick1693
Welcome back! Again but this time not from the dead.
Astrotrain85
Maybe this time he will voice some character.

"i guess i didn't get that memo" quickly became one of my favorite lines in ROTF. i dont really know why, lol.

more morshower can only be a good thing.
dragon
hes was in the second one ill have to keep an eye fr him i like him he looks laid back when his on screen
Starscreamownz
One of the few humans who's return I'm happy about. =)
MrByatis
I know Vangelus will be jazzed this is one step closer to his army of pretender Glenn Morshower's
Optimus1986
I'm shocked.
starscream 2005
why he played a different character is beyond me. why they couldn't have said that he survived too. why not.

i want to see major lenoxs say, "hey general, you sure look like this guy i once knew." "you sure your not a transformer or something?"

then the general say "ummm no" then BAM!!!! the general's head blows up!

The credits in the movies occasionally use the non-final names from the script. Demolishor is referred to as "Wheelbot", for example.

Morshower's character in Revenge of the Fallen was named after him because they thought his name was cool. As I recall, the name stayed the same throughout the various adaptations of ROTF that his character appeared in (even when his service branch changed), so his name is Morshower, and he's a different character to Sharp.

I still find it funny that Morshower, brought the rain. Get it, More-Shower, the Rain! Hahahaha.
NCStarscream
It would be funny if he played a third character in this

And they do refer to him by name in ROTF, although not to his face - Lennox says "We take our orders directly from Chairman Morshower, sir" to Galloway.
Rumble02
I find this to be very good news. and I would love it if he played yet another character but it would make more sense if he stayed as the gen from rotf. I just dig him in everything he does and loves his talents on the big screen.
Blitz.
I dont know why but I love the idea that he's always a different character
iluvu_superion
he was a cool guy in 24 as well...He's a very likable guy, if I made a movie, he would play every character.

yea
Dran0n
Yay, I suppose.

He was in TF1 and ROTF, so I guess it's not surprising he's gonna be in TF3.
Solrac333
That guy was also in an episode of Lie To Me. He played the same character. Not sure if it was the same name but he was an officer.
Wheeljack_Prime
He should be included in a future HA set.
Darthbane2007
What is he going to be this time?

Colonel Sharp and General Morshower's identical 2nd cousin twice removed, Admiral Peenachy?
blackout501st
awesome! glenn morshower is an awesome actor. i love the sound of his voice. hes got that "take no shit" kind of tone. really glad to have him back!
caitlindevi
wow shows how deep the film is if the same actor can play two different characters and no-one noticed.

Yet if the same robot model is used to fill in a bit of background action all hell breaks loose
Superquad7
Sometimes I can take too much for granted, as I kinda expected him to return. That being said, I'm really glad to see him back. I've really enjoyed his performances and his character(s).

I always thought his line telling Blackout they would kill him was really cool and delivered well.
