Hot on the heels of Michael Bay interviews, another famous name from the Transformers Live Action Movie Franchise is talking about Transformers 4… and 5.
Actor Glenn Morshower had this to say to Examiner last weekend at the Con X KC in Kansas City, Missouri:
“After I did the opening ceremonies for the ride, Steven Spielberg walked up to me and chatted and said ‘You know we’ve got you set to do the fourth one and probably the fifth one on the heels of that,” said on how he was approached about the new sequels. “So, I guess in December we are on our way to making 4 and 5.”Update: Video from the interview is now available:
Back-To-Back shooting for movies (especially sequels) is not uncommon; famous examples being Back To The Future 2 & 3, The Matrix Reloaded & The Matrix Revolutions as well as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 & Part 2.
This latest development sheds a light on the statement made by Michael Bay himself, where he said Transformers 4 is “probably” the last Transformers movie he directs.

If all goes well then yes, there will be a 5th movie. I want to see a variety of new robots with more lines of dialogue. I would like to see epic space battles.

Bahaha, well not exactly.
Movies, just because they were called Part 1 and Part 2, don't mean they're the same movie.
For example, Harry Potter was written and planned, for 2 DIFFERENT films.
So, while filming 2 back to back, doesn't really mean it's different from filming a 'normal' sequel.
Does that make anymore sense? ^^; My apologies.

I think 4 & 5 should either be based on Rescue Bots or Bot Shots.
If Bay screws up my Bot Shots, I will hunt him down.

While I'm not 100% sure of what you mean, I think you just supported my point, right? lol

"Cut! Print! That's a wrap, folks!"
Shizuka
Or, we can have a characters inspired by their modern counterparts for a change. Bots like Hot Shot.

I'd rather see more military characters as aside from some rough spots – conceptually the Military work best for the movies – Sam might be there to get the female audience in and to stop it looking to 'boys own' but what I want from Transformers Movies is the same thing I've wanted since before they started and it's what I've always wanted.
That the Transformers themselves be treated as actual Characters and not as special effects.
And perhaps they can maybe tone down the movie's world view and violence just a little as it does make the movies look like a parody at times.

Bay: We are all ready for film this scene.
random guy: what this scene is about?
Bay: it involves explosions
*they begin filming*
Bay: Now activate the explosions!
*explosions goes bomb and the World explodes to a billazon pieces*
Bay: Perfect!!

Though it was planned in the beginning. 2 scripts were written, and 2 different movies. So, given they were written, made, and executed as 2 movies, they still count, even though it's called "Part 2", directly and indirectly, they are part 2's and part 3's, ROTF is part 2, DOTM is part 3, technically. Pirates of the Caribbean, Part 2 is Dead mans chest, part 3 is at Worlds end. 2 different films and sequels, just filmed at the same time.
MV95
Exactly. They were filmed at the same time (back to back) and then split up into 2 movies.

Well, if what I said is religated to this, in some way shape or form (which is entirely out of context becasue I said it was my opinion, and never said anything really bad about the movies themselves. I suggested better written characters. That is "constructive". Also if it was, I attend a film school and make several couple minute pieces every single week.
Maybe you should stop generalizing, open your mind, and stop taking everything to heart, and act as if we just denounced the Holocaust.
Also, this is only if my comments were generalized with that, but still remains I haven't seen too many people blind raging childhood rape. I also only stated the film thing because, not everyone on here who has a qualm with something is a low tier educated man child. Some may be, but not all.
Shizuka
Does Harry Potter even count? Wasn't it just one movie split into 2?
MV95
The thing is though, if they're shooting back to back, they're going to need the extra time. If filming takes a few months for one movie, it makes sense to start a few months early because usually the filming for these Transformers movies starts around March.
figsdad
Also have they got a script ready. cause hasbro want new toys and robots.?
who knows it could been done months ago .?

This is a good point. It just reminded me of something.
My experience working in the movie industry was that things pretty much just shut down all december every year (meaning there was very little work to be found).
Now there's absolutely no reason why they COULDN'T start in December. But given the culture, unless they had a reason to start December- why would they?
Krueger
TBH, I don't believe any of this. Actors are notorious for speaking crap when they're cornered. Off-the-cuff comments and all that.
There is no way they’re starting filming in December. Just think about this for a second. These sorts of films, particularly two of them back-to-back, have an awfully long pre-production process. Also, what’s Bay planning on doing, filming it with no actors? If filming was really scheduled to start in December do you not think we would have had at least one bit of casting news by now? It’s bloody late September! Another thing, he has just finished shooting Pain & Gain, which is now in the early stages of post-production.
This “story” is rubbish and, as I said, is just an actor issuing a completely expendable off-the-cuff comment.
Eric
My response to this a few pages back.
Rodimus Mike
I don't get it,why are they starting filming in December, usually they don't start till the summer months,I wonder if this is gonna come out next Christmas or if the back to back filming is gonna take longer to shoot.Anyway I hope the movies are better without all the Sam and Leading Babe drama like the last 3.
RyLegacy
I'd be completely ok with them throwing out the Witwicky plot lines and making TF4 more centered around the military and the Autobot/NEST alliance. We would have more time for robot scenes (Autobot and Decepticon), we would have more time to focus on the characters of, what I think are three of the best humans from the movies (Lennox, Epps and General Morshower) and we would have more time for the enjoyable orgy of new military tech, military speak, and alien robots blowing shit up.
kaiserlisk
Isn't the world supposed to end this December?
I kid, I kid, I'm actually looking forward more news.
