Full Revised Artwork for Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Megatron and Ravage Megatron-is-coming-to-get-you-
The Transformers Live Action Movie Blog has posted revised designs of Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Megatron and Ravage. Megatron in particular is quite different to the original concept designs seen some time ago - he is significantly more bulky and dangerous looking.

The Live Action Movie Blogs' source also reports that returning characters Optimus Prime, Ironhide, Bumblebee and Starscream are largely unchanged from their appearances in the first movie.

Click on the thumbnail to the left to view the images of Megatron and Ravage which we have mirrored. Be warned these are spoilers!

Icespark:
Megatron's design has been certainly improved over the first version. There is still room for further improvement though. The left arm needs more substance to it, and the helmet portion of his head could use a bit more work as well. The right arm is very interesting. I wonder what kind of weapon is built into it. I do like the treads in his legs; since he's a $40 figure, perhaps there'll be a chance that the treads will be made of rubber and can work?

I like Ravage for the most part; I still think he really needs two optics though. That is, unless the round black areas on the sides of the skull are his optics..... which would mean he has a really weird nose.... (Animated Shockwave has to fit into that theory somewhere! )

I do notice in the report that Ratchet wasn't listed with the characters whose designs haven't changed. That slightly worries me. I'm hoping it just means that they changed his design; he could use a new head. I'm also really hoping that there are far less character deaths this time around!
SmokescreenGT:
Ravage is totally badass. Megs looks good, but I'm wondering why one arm is a lot bigger than the other. Maybe because he lost that left arm in the first film. I believe it was missing when they dumped him in the ocean at the end.
DeathsHead:
Interesting how everyone seems to love Ravage. I'm afraid I can't stand him. I just utterly loathe the whole Gieger alien reject look, plus the teeth and the one eye look hilarious.

Megs however seems to be going places! Less kibble, less...well...ALIEN than before, all good stuff. Perhaps he donated all his horrible spikey bits so they could make Ravage...
squawkbox74:
Megatron looks like Nightmare from Soul Calibur 4.

I hate this movie for its inspiring and intricate designs and its mind-boggling transformation sequences. I hate it because I hate myself.

He ate Rudolph!

I also hope they didn't take away his hip launchers (as seen in the first pic leaked of him) in favor of that tail spear/blade/whatever.
Same here.
Pepsiman98:
i think bay got megatron having a claw for a hand from tf armada. megatron's left was clearly a claw like this megatron. if anyone's noticed, these pics are fully rendered to the live action version of them we will see in theaters. i mean, i bet megatron will be in that same pose in one scene and wont look any different from the picture here.
(while is going off in the background)
ashion:
Love Ravage. I definetly know if i saw that looking in my direction i would be running in the oposite direction so fast i'd be doing my best impression of Blurr.

I like the designs. Their alien and interesting.

This reaally made me laugh!

Zmog I salute your posts throughout this thread for being able to concisely convey my every opinion in a way that I seem entirely unable to do.

I shall now stop kissing arse...
Ash from Carolina:
I'm going to be weird, but I mostly like the Megatron design. Just a more solid armored look that says warrior far better than his design in the first movie. He just somehow seems like he's less busy now which makes him easier on the eyes. Heck I even like the claw/cannon arm because it throws a bit of a Beast Wars sort of thing in there to say hey there is more than G1 and this movie franchise.

Only bit I'm not really happy on Megatron is those weird fingers. I think he needs a fist that say tyrant and I could punch a hole in a tank if I wanted to. The current fingers just look too well "girly", too bad they can't give him a tough guy's fist instead.

Ravage I like the lots of big teeth and the way they managed a wisker type look in there as well. Just a bit too much of the busy look going on that takes away from a sleak look you'd expect for a cat. Okay and the strange orange thing in the middle of his face seems more like a distraction instead of being something cool. Makes it look he's only got one eye or something.
Overhaulimus:
Megs is just screaming Galvatron at me for some reason,oh and I absolutely love Ravage.

I agree. To me Ravage looks like more of a creature, then a robot. But I like the new Megatron.
Starscreamer95:
Yay!!! A design for Megatron that looks better than the first one!
And Ravage just looks bad ass, except for the tail, kinda reminds me of Skorponok.
Satomiblood:
I like Ravage's 1 eye. At least it looks like it's just 1 eye. Fits in with the movie aesthetic perfectly. I just wish the Decepticons didn't all have that silver and rust color to them.
TheMindZombie:
Is it just me or does Ravage's tail like a lot like Scoronok's?

Nope.
Doug:
I wonder what the size of Ravage will be? I hope he won't be the size of an average house cat.
thygriever:
Megatron is an instant win for me. I love his redesign. Doesn't look "all over the place" like his old one did. I still hate his hands!

Ravage is alright. Don't like the 1 eyeball thing. What does he transform into this time?
Maximus_Prime:
BAD.ASS

Ravage looks like he won't be a little bitch like Frenzy was when he was fighting Sam LOL

I can't wait to see more designs

It did pique my interest though when he said that Prime,Bee and Ironhide are mostly unchanged.

no Ratchet signs aren't looking good for him
Ravage1976:
I still dont understand the whole spindly arm thing they insist on giving Megatron but Ravage is interesting an if he gets a descent toy he will be the movie toy I grab since my fund are going to be largely tied up with Animated.
OptimusPrimeFour:
really dont like the ravage head , looks like a knock off alien head , the body looks good , and megatron i guess its ok but i think BAY should have gave him a earth mode like a b2 bomber or a f117 fighter (something that fly's) not a cybertronian tank , oh well.
Otispq:
Sweet those two are. I don't care that Ravage is more savage than stealth, with those teeth and claws he doesn't need missiles, just wondering what his alt mode is?
Deceptigtar:
bad ass times 2!!!!!!
Poho:
that's pretty fucking intense
Cinemastique:
Ravage has to grow on me. Can a predator do his stuff without depth perception?

Megs is improving. The head needs work.

NOTHING would make me happier than if they use the Concept Art (Fire rescue) for Ratchet. :-) His head in that is WIN.

Got a quick link to the art? I can't remember it very well.

SKowl:
The big crab claw on Megatron looks kind of cool, but I'm not digging the cyclops look on Ravage.

Also, it's nice to finally have some stuff on ROTF, news has been way too slow lately - and I'm still waiting for something official to acknowledge the fact that this movie is actually being made.

I'm keeping my sig until we get at least a teaser poster...
IronCrow:
Have to say I like 'em both a lot. Awesome. No complaints here at all.

Radioactive Ravage:
Megs is pure win. I'll be buying that figure!
Mepayne:
Blah.
Paradigm-Shift Prime:
I'm not really liking Ravage at all.
Rayzilla Prime:
Holy sh*t. I'll be in line on opening night.

Ravage looks awesome. Don't be effin' around with that kitty.

Megatron, since he was damaged quite a bit in the last film, I say looks perfect. I do prefer his design from the first film over this, but as long as they have a reasoning behind his change in alternate form and why he has the unproportional body design, I'm perfectly fine with it.

See, this is what kind of bothers me. He's obviously been reformatted or whatever into a new body, so why is it incomplete? It's not like his old body was just rebuilt, because that wouldn't make any sense. "Here, we'll ignore this arm and slap some new legs on you." Then you get into the transformation aspect. Can he transform if his arm is all janky?
Zaraxion1021:
Awesome, TRULY AWESOME!! I liking the Ravage look.
mondo:
The head for Ravage is weird, it should look more like a cat. They gave Scorponok a scorpion like head why not for Ravage. Other than that, Ravage is cool. I think his guns will transform out from his hip or legs. They were seen on him from the first concept art.

Megatron is cool. Does any one have a link to the other concept arts and the toy detail/design concept?
webz:
Megatron = metal fiddler crab.

Looks better than the first movie.
zeroXII:
Not digging Ravage's head design. Somehow, it just doesn't flow with the rest of the body design i feel.

Megatron's a significant improvement, but he still could use more. Maybe an Earth mode would give him more cohesiveness, coz he still looks like junker parts come to life.

heh, movie style junkions.... like walking piles of frankensteinish scrap metal....
Pun-3X:
Love that Ravage design. I'm just glad they kept him of the four-legged variety. He definitely looks nasty. I'd be much more afraid of a thing like that chasing me than Frenzy, for sure. Very curious as to what his alt-mode will be, or if he'll be a Scorponok-type. (Granted, the Scorpy toy had a bot-mode, but nothing featured in the movie. Wondering if they'll do that for Ravage...)
Optimus62:
Very cool!
fastballspecial:
Awesome designs. I have no complaints.
Maximus_Prime:
^on late I see lol

Yeah I like these designs a lot
DeceptiKreep:
These looks quite amazing!

Really liking the look of Ravage
SeaScream:
lol he has a doodle
ntsan:
Looks really nice

anyone else not see the thing between his legs?

Arthropods (or informally, "bugs" if you will) are pretty bizarre in general, and come in so many wacky shapes, they provide an easy model for "alien" traits... or at least what we perceive as "alien".

In the case of Ravage, my comment was more attuned to the fact that he's fairly deliberately panther-like, but with a bunch of superficial "alien" buglike aspects stuck on top. It doesn't feel like a very distinctive design... though all things considered, I should be happy that he looks vaguely catlike at all. Look what happened to poor Frenzy! His inspiration seemed to be a Gremlin mixed with a cutlery drawer.

zmog
Totally agree...

Since I never liked Bayformers, I was unaffected by the recent news... until now.

You see Ravage seems to happen to be one of my fav. Cons (especially the TALKING intelligent portrayal of him in the Marvel/IDW comics) and so I got a bit pissed off when I saw what Orci's team decided to do with him. (Yeah, I recon he told the design team "Ooooh make him scary! Like an Alien, but not so much that Giger would sue us... Oh and I have no idea what he transforms into." I dislike the new design so much, I decided to draw the planning phases of this abomination...

kjeevahh:
nice comment on the blog about ravage being alice... sounds plausible!
Rijie78:
Nice concept work, I prefer the design of this Megatron to the one in the first film. I'm liking the withered arm thing going on there too. Ravage looks gnarly, great dynamic pose, looks sleek but really powerful. Excellent!
