| Frank Welker will be voicing Soundwave in Transformers Revenge of the Fallen |
| Posted on 04-27-2009 at 05:06 PM by Sol Fury | In an interview with Ugo Movie Blog, Roberto Orci has officially confirmed that Frank Welker, the voice of many 80s villains including Generation 1 Soundwave, will be reprising his role as Soundwave for Transformers Revenge of the Fallen! Frank Welker's other classic roles span a wide range of 80's cartoons and include Megatron, Dr Claw on Inspector Gadget, and Freddy on Scooby-Doo (and that's not even scratching the surface! Chances are if you have ever watched a cartoon in the 80's, you have enjoyed Mr Welker's talents).

That's sweet and all, but I have a strange suspicion he's really not going to matter a whole lot in the movie. I could be wrong, but we've seen NOTHING on him except for the toy.

Sounds cool to me. Though I have a feeling that Soundwave's voice will have so many modifications done to it, that we won't be able to tell that it's Welker. Not saying anybody could replace him. There's still the way he says things. Here's hoping Soundwave has more than a couple of lines. Don't need a while speech from him, but it would be nice for a con other than Megs get some good lines into the movie.

Anyone could do a Soundwave voice, because anyone can do a Doctor Claw voice. But hooray, nostalgia I suppose.

Exactly.....and I personally think it should be taken as one helluva treat for fans everywhere. Yes I'm sure any good voice actor can pull it off, but nothing beats the original.

About time he got a role. Should've been Megatron from the get-go. Hopefully he gets more than just Soundwave. He's far too talented not to be used in multiple roles.
