Director Michael Bay has logged into his Official Website to make a statement regarding what is being circulated around the Internet. In case you missed it, you can check out our report posted few hours ago.

"I Do Not Apologize For Any Transformers Movies" says Mr. Bay. "It is a drag talking to reporters on sets. Why? Because often times they take your words and skew things to their liking? Then the crazy, lazy game of reporting on what other writers story’s reported me saying and then suddenly it becomes skewed Internet truth. So I waste my time to restate exactly what I did say, again.

No I did not ‘apologize’ for any Transformers movies. I did not say I shot the last three movies “less cool” then the new fourth installment. I was talking specifically about camera style and tone, of the first movie compared to how I shot the new installment with a very big scale, cinematic style. I was very specific in saying the first Transformers was shot in a ‘generic suburbia’ area, not trying to be cool with any cinematic flashes. I wanted it to feel like this could happen in any backyard in the United States."

Continuing on, the Director did not forget to mention about Transformers: Age Of Extinction. This includes some information about when we'll exactly see the First Transformers 4 Trailer.

"So that brings me to letting Transformers fans know that we have completed our five and half month shoot. We got back from a month long shoot in China. My crew and I had a fantastic time shooting in Hong Kong and Mainland China. It was an amazing experience, and I love the country. My cast was absolutely fantastic, and a very fun group to work with. We are working hard cutting the movie right now. I think the first piece comes out for the Super Bowl and a teaser right after that.

And yes, I’m very excited about this new movie."

Super Bowl XLVIII will take place on February 2, 2014.

Ehhh? Why have a teaser after the trailer for Super Bowl.? shoudn't it be the other way around.?

Well, My Body is Ready.
BeeOtch217
Aw man I wanted a trailer early. Oh well.
JamesBenjamin
So this confirms the card that was in with those Calvin Johnson shoes...

As Starscream said, "Time makes all things possible. I can wait."

February 2014, here I come.
bman29
Golf clap!
ComfyDeathshot
I guessed that.
fallen_revenge
Yeah, this is the exact same thug we got with ROTF! We got a teaser during Super Bowl and teaser trailer shorty after. Was kinda hoping for it to happen this month, but we wouldn't of have got anything rather interesting! Can't wait till' February!

Probably because the title of this story is misleading by using the word "trailer." Bay never said that. He said the first "piece" would be ready for the Super Bowl and then the teaser after. I have a feeling the Super Bowl spot will be more of a teaser than a trailer as well.

Then again, we did get a decent trailer for the last movie during the SB. Who knows.

The Super Bowl piece is just a TV spot. (<30sec) Not a trailer. And the "teaser trailer" isn't a full trailer. (~45-90sec) A "trailer" is the long version shown in front of a film at the theater. (~2.5min)

*Generally. Not an exact science*
EnerJohn
Looking forward to extinction.

At least the superbowl is early in Feb this year, sometimes its the 2nd or 3rd weekend. Just under 2 months till the "official" reveal, so i'm sure toy and other reveals will sneak out soon enough
Jazzfan0217
FINALLY we get an actual date!!! I'm ready and waiting for it!

Always the first Sunday, if it's in February.

And the first footage being a Superbowl spot is a genius move. I remember going absolute apeshit at the DOTM spot.

Yes! There's just something about seeing it in an official reveal, not to mention along side all of the other new commercials and the big game. *EXCITEMENT*

Geography and time passage and day of night transition isn't mike's strong point - unless he deliberately wanted his movies to look "Unearthly" more likely he's just a lazy hollywood director who does not care that you can't drive several hundred miles from The Hoover Dam to LA and somehow miss out all the stuff between them like you know Mountains, rivers railyards and stuff in under 4 minutes when Decepticons (most of which can fly) still somehow can't catch you when they seem to have seen you leave and are chasing you at the time.

Oh unless Bumblebee can drive faster than an Alien jet a Helicopter and a F-22 Fighter plane.

I still think TF2007 would have benefited from a Mountain tunnel helicopter chase along with a great many other things beside at least to explain how they lost the Decepticons to show the area around the dam off better and to give Blackout something cool to do.

That said and my bitchyness aside - I can see a slighty tonal difference in this movie just from the onset stuff and the set photography and other things... I think Bay's thinking more Armageddon ish this time.

Well looks like there's another reason to watch the Super Bowl aside from the commercials.

The trailer at the superbowl probably wont be made public - so instead we get a shoddy teaser
Primegirl24
Was kinda hoping for an early date, but oh well, still excited

100% less dog humping hopefully in 2014, but we may get a gratuitous womanly backside shot or two as Michaela has a cameo in it and I'm sure that the new young lass has some pretty tight trousers on in some of the scenes I've seen being shot.

Micheal Bay will remain a 40 something adolescent regardless of what he might say to try to suck people back in and he said the same sort of stuff about DOTM too I recall. (which is more dumb, creepy & sleazy than goofy perhaps).

I foresee lots of slapstick a bit of gratuitous female objectification and likewise for cars and the odd dinosaur.

Which seems pretty much ideal for Michael Bay's mind (even if he says he does not like Dinosaurs... (silly man wasn't he ever 6 all 6 year old boys like Dinosaurs) and look at all the people who went to see JP3 even when some of them knew in advance it's terrible just to see the dinos.

Clever. Helping. You are neither.

I never understood why Transformers waited so long to reveal a teaser. Spider Man 2 and Godzilla and X-Men Days of Future Past all come out in may and already have trailers. Why release a teaser trailer in December and maybe a full trailer in March. with that being said looks like im going to have to wait along with everyone else till the SuperBowl
Afterburner
lol his ego is so easily dented. Good times. Probably will feature mediacons in the new movie. More "cinematic" that way.
MV95
Dang. Well hopefully the TV spot is revealed a day or two before the game like some are. At least it'd make the wait ever so slightly easier.

I'm just glad to have any peek at the new movie. I'm kind of scared, given the medieval-esque forms and weaponry of Prime and 'Bee thus far.
tonyformer
Can't wait to see Chinese Autobots
transformervic1
I can't wait to watch it on TV then quickly head to youtube to rewatch it about 90x over. If I remember right, the DOTM spot was up not even an hour after it first aired in HD.
moreprimeland
Hope it's a clip of the bots and not just the humans.

Will have at the ready.
ErbFan28
Always a good promotional tactic to do it that way.

How fitting to have trash premier with other trash.

They don't go to LA from the Hoover Dam. They go to "Central City" or some such nonsense. If that's your major complaint in a movie where sentient alien robots come down from outer space and scour eBay for crazy alien hieroglyphs then I don't know what else to say...
figsdad

Agree so if they want to make Money and beat these films to make a blockbuster. get the teaser out now and get it promoted to the world.?
Crainy
First teaser with the Superbowl? Ok...

Great to hear from the big guy again, though.

Tell the reporters and critics to stick it.

You revitalized the brand for years to come.

How disrespectful is this comment? If you don't like Bay cool, but this man is a well respected director in Hollywood. To bash him and call him lazy is stupid and absolutely blasphemous.

No more terrible then the horrible G1 movie. Nostalgia and fanboy bias aside, it's a terrible movie.

And Lody666 is right. Thanks to Michael Bay you have new toys, cartoons, comics, video games and even a theme park ride. and all you haters want to do is shout "robot Balls!" at the top of your lungs. Grow up.
