First Look: Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Megatron Robot Mode ROTF-Megatron
2005 Boards Member S250 has shared an image of the robot mode of the one and only Decepticon warlord Megatron in his new form from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen with us! You can check out the image by clicking on the thumbnail to the left. Particularly exciting about this new design is that Megatron is sporting some sort of advanced cannon on his right arm - could this be the new Movie's take on Megatron's famous fusion cannon? Join in the discussion on our 2005 Boards and share your speculations!

shroobmaster:
My GOD he looks so Darth VAder-ish.

I'll miss dumb beast tron :[
Venksta:
The asymmetrical design is interesting, but his left arm looks weak compared to the right.
Silent_Magnus:
His right arm looks like it uses Jazz's Sword/Baton/rifle weapon, and his left arm looks crippled.

And it looks like he has wheels/treads which is good.
Sso02V:
looks like he's got tank treads in his feet
ANDROID PRIME:
I see tank treads. and whats up with that tiny arm

photoshop can fix that

Sso02V:
Tiny arm doesn't look that bad to me. His other arm would probably look the same without the gun.
shroobmaster:
I think his left arm is just extremely damaged.
J.H.N:
tiny... but interesting
Bumblethumper:
Thanks for the heads up.

.... and I have no idea what to make of this. His lower legs look a bit like treads, but other than that, I don't see much clue to an alt mode.

He has a bad case of 'wankers arm'. The other arm is pretty much wasted away.
seeker311:
Nice
NIDARAM12:
From the waist down is pretty awesome. I wonder if his left side is supposed to indicate his battle damage. In any case, I'm sure he will be much better in motion, just like the first design.

He'll probably just change his alt mode to another cybertronian thing because of the damage, if you notice, his back is alot more tank-armor unlike the winged first movie version.
Mega-con:
Looks like he's getting a tank mode.
shroobmaster:
Hhhmm, I think I prefer the broken arm look, gives more "power" to the single gigant possible fusion cannon arm.
rizuan76:
Hmm..weird but anyway thanks for sharing it with us S250.

Yeah, I've always been a bit of a fan of the "fiddler crab" look. Not many TFs can pull it off without...y'know...being fiddler crabs.
Locustreign:
Weird! But then we thought that about the original Thanks S250!!! I'm sure this'll disappear in 5... 4... 3... 2... 1...
Dirge121:
Neat, is the arm thats now the huge gun the one that was missing when his body was dumped into the ocean?
Omegus Prime:
He's got treads for his leg so I assume he's Universe Galvatron-ish in that his uber arm becomes a tank turret. I'm just glad they're changing him up, more movie 1 characters being redesigned so we're not stuck with rehashed toys

Funny you should mention Razorclaw, he's my favorite Beast Wars toy ever.
Takara_destron:
VERY interesting, I like it!
Ceasar121:
Hmmm. Nice. Don't like the weak arm, hope that gets fixed, or this represents him coming back from the ocean.

Yeah, best guess right now would seem to be some sort of Cybertronian tank mode.
artiepants:
while i came around on a lot of the movie designs, I never thought Megatron looked good in any way shape or form and this certainly does nothing to change that. If anything it's actually worse IMHO.
Primus:
looks great! Can't wait to see Devastator and Soundwave.

yeah, I've got Rockbuster and he's a great little figure!
Omega Charge:
Well, cool.

Looks a little stubby, I see those tank treads...

Now to see what kind of role he'll actually play.
Dark_Convoy:
I think he's missing pieces, maybe he's only partially repaired after his battle with Prime/Sam/US Airforce.
Ceasar121:
He also appears less kibbleish. Looks like more solid parts on the design.
meetoblivion:
wasn't his left arm pretty much destroyed at the end of movie 1?
Icespark:
This is a rather interesting design. Thank you for letting us see it!

I do have to wonder though, how exactly can the left arm work on a toy, with out being fragile, or easily broken?
Powersa:
kind of like Best Buy Megs
Cloudraker:
TANK not PLANE. nice
Tr4nce:
@ the OP: is there more where this came from?
Beastbot X:
Wow, NICE. Looks very emperor-ish.

Now let's hope his toy looks better in alt mode than the first go-around...
General Magnus:
Sounds cool. I hope the toy has more articulation than the craptacular movie 1 Megatron.

It'll probably be solid plastic molded like it's made of lots of pieces instead of metal strings, plus considering he'll probably be a Leader toy that arm would probably be the size of a voyager's arm.
Ceerad:
I'm diggin' Megatrons "lucky fin"
godsenddeath:
I'm overcome with a strong feeling of meh.
Apriorion:
Yoink. Saved it. Thanks, S250.

I for my part hope that he is not only a tank, but some kind of triple-changer, where he still transforms into a Cybertronian jet. I thought that the final scene as depicted in the leaked script would have looked awesome--dogfighting with Starscream resulting in mechanoid disembowelment is a great idea. I guess we'll see. If push comes to shove, I would probably be pleased with just about any kind of Megs-kicking-Scream's-assery.
Brave Magnus:
Hm..i dont know what to think. I kinda like the original Megatron design. Oh well, new movie, new body, right? I still want to know whats the deal with the left arm and if it will be fixed at some poing of the movie.
General Tekno:
AWESOME.

Though I hope that he gets the other arm repaired.

That is all.
Joe Moore:
Megatron is in dire need of some color.

Eh - all he really needs in my mind is a nice big purple Decepticon insignia.

Though going off the original concept art and the finished product, he'll look fine on-screen. So long as the toy avoids the ice motif this time around on the paintjob and goes for the Premium-style paint.
ZeroMayhem:
So that's what Megatron would look like if he had invented the Finglonger.
MACRAPTRON:
He looks Dark Nova-ish (From TF Battlestars/Return of Convoy)
Scourgatron:
. Im diggin that new head. The rest of it is shit.
