First Clear Look At Transformers 3 Shockwave and Soundwave

Shockwave is just pure awesome. Soundwave is awesome, too, I'm guessing that's his robot mode head and not his satellite mode head.

He's got a toothy mouth. And I'm totally fine with that. Nowhere is it written he shouldn't have one. (he did in the Marvel comics) I like that his head is very old Soundwave-ish with the forehead crest and "ears."

Most of all, I like that I can look at this head designs and immediately recognize them as who they are.

I just hope he has those sonic wave blasters we've seen in a concept art for ROTF. Oh and he had a mouth in ROTF also while in satellite mode so no need to panic.

I hope the end battle has Prime like, "Sam - watch out for Soundwave!"
And Shia's all "I thought I was!"

Shockwave's head design looks awesome! I like Soundwave's, too; it will be interesting to see their full robot designs/alt modes.

Wow. Seeing Shockwave's head design makes me think of him using the voice of the Marvin robot from hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy. Just more angry and less depressed.

I knew it wasn't Bumblebee next to Soundwave in that other shot i had posted, now we know who the mysterious head on a stick is!

Shockwave- pretty much.

Soundwave- I don't see it.

But that's o.k.- these aren't G1 characters so they don't have to look like the originals.

I'm sorry But SHOCKWAVE'S HEAD Design looks simply atrocious, it looks to much like some kind of Crustation. maybe he'll be like some kind of Crab thing in the movie like an Invid Shock Trooper or something.

He looks like he's got Megatron Hemet on the brain, and why does even he have a mouth? *sigh* It'd better look better in the final design. Shockwave has always been my most favored Decepticon while his counterpart Jetfire has always been my favorite Autobot and look at how crappy he was as a movie character.

Both of them are looking very cool indeed.

Really? Next to Prime, Shockwave looks to have the most Classics head design of any Bayverse Transformer so far. I'm thrilled with it.

I love Shockwave and Soundwave's head, I hope they cause a lot of Chaos in Tf3.

I swear they put them together on purpose to show us...but w the heck I LOVE IT!!!

Both look good, for just being heads that is. Shockwave's head design isn't perfect, but it works, and is much closer to the original than I had expected it to be. Soundwave looks like his head is a little different, but nothing major.

Should be interesting to see how the rest of Shockwave turns out, and whether or not Soundwave gets any more alterations to his design.

He had a mouth in RotF...

He looks just like Shockwave. He's got ears, the one eye, he's even purple. (!) What more is there to being Shockwave?

Liking Shockwave's head design alot, the chin even reminds me a bit of Animated.

So it looks like the "glowing eye" was actually part of the cutout art and not an actual light. That's cool trickery. I approve of Shockwave's head.

I also like how they made Soundwave unique while still recognizable. The headcrest and "ears" were more then enough but glow of his 4 red eyes actually come together to give the impression of a visor ala G1. A very nice touch.

Soundwave looks awesome. Very demonic and evil. I'm glad he doesn't have the vocoder for this incarnation, with a head like that, he wants a more evil rasp.

Shockwave looks incredible too. Very nice update of the classic design.

Why does Soundwave look like Beavis to me?

Keep in mind Soundwave could have a mouth plate he uses when in battle. I love how these both look and im so excited to see Shockwave's full form!

They both look great, though the mouth on Soundwave will take a bit of getting used to since it seems quite a bit more noticeable than the one in ROTF. Would be cool if when he isn't speaking, his mouth looks like a faceplate. Regardless of what they do, Soundwave looks awesome.

Does Shockwave have a mouth? To me it doesn't seem like he does, but then again, this isn't the clearest picture in the world, so I could be wrong.

Now, I wonder. Since they have these heads on poles, does that mean the actors will be interacting with Decepticons that aren't chasing them? Maybe we'll get some cool dialogue moments between the two

You know, even if I somehow knew in advance that this movie would suck even more than RotF, I'd still be seeing it.

Goddamn these guys look awesome. Sold totally. Shockwave is even more "G1" than his Animated design. And mouth or no mouth, that looks exactly like Soundwave.

If I remember correctly the heads on sticks were used in the first movie whenever the human characters had to interact to the bots, such as when BB first transforms to fight Barricade and when Sam starts talking to him afterwards.

I'm guessing this has to be one of those moments as well. If the humans were just running away then they wouldn't need them, so this could mean more of the Con/Human interaction we got a taste of in RotF.

Why do I have a feeling that Bay is going to make them brothers?

Shaft me sideways, Shockwave actually looks Shockwavey. I was expecting six eyes and a mohawk. The little mouth thing, eeh, I can live with it. As long as he doesn't open his face to display a huge set of gnashers.
Soundwave though I'm not loving all the teeth. I remember when the idea of teeth on a live-action TF was considered a tremendously stupid thing. Human-like mouths even too. Nowadays the world and its wife have a couple of rows (at least) of chomper pegs. Can't be an evil space alien robot monster without growly grills. Let's hope the cool and calm mouthplate Soundwave from ROTF still remains and he doesn't go all 'Grrraahhhhggh! I will eat you!' mindless animal since he's down chasing humans.

They need a scene where Bumblebee is in a dark room for some reason, and a single red dot appears towering over him.

I wonder if the two 'Waves are conspiring against Megatron in this film?

Ooooh. So when Shockwave turns on the lights, Bumblebee sees THE WRECKAGE OF MEGATRON laying in front of him. And Soundwave is standing beside Shockwave.

"As you can see Autobot, Megatron has failed the Decepticon cause for the last time."

Both heads look great. Not really too fond of Soundwave's "Rawhead Rex" mouth he has going on there, but I'm guessing he most likely has a faceplate like Optimus Prime that covers his face in battle. Or maybe thats not the "actual" design either, but rather an old concept one from the movie's preproduction or a ditched head design from the second movie.

My thoughts exactly... Spot-on. In the IDW Comics, Soundwave is incredibly intelligent and cunning. He even once managed to convince Starscream to retreat (Transformers: Alliance). And in TF: Nefarious, he's the Decepticon big bad guy and plots to take over the planet earth while "Megatron finish licking his wounds".

If those two look that much evil as props, they'll scare the daylights out of me in the movie...

Shockwave looks awesome. To me, his head design is the perfect update of the original G1 design. It's stylized, but still very recognizable as the character.

Alan Rickman as Shockwave?...That's actually not a bad idea.

So, to me, Shockwave's looking like a cross between Darth Revan and a Cylon. Which is extremely cool!

When Shockwave is about to dismantle Bumblebee, his face gets blown out and when he falls, you see Megatron with his arm raised up and smoke coming out and he says "I still function..."

Man I'm getting way too excited for stuff that won't happen.

Somehow I just don't remember the mouth on Soundwave in Revenge of the Fallen. The rest of the design is nice how it combines past elements and new ideas, but the mouth sort of throws things off. I guess I just envision Soundwave as a ninja sort of character so the face mask just works for him. Still when you don't need a caption to know who a character is it's a good job.

Shockwave a little worried about what could be a crap mouth, but still you don't need a caption to know who he is so a good job. Kind of a mix of G1, Animated and new ideas all rolled together. Actually kind of neat the way they make the eye stand out. Just too bad we don't have a character named Dave so Shockwave could say "I'm sorry Dave".

If them two are beside each other, I hope Soundwave isn't being a goodie goodie tooostie to Shockwave, like he is to Megatron.
