For this week’s issue, Entertainment Weekly focused mainly on this summer’s blockbusters and of course Transformers 4 Age of Extinction is one of them.
In this two paged preview filled with new interviews, director Michael Bay explains that this is a whole new trilogy and a fresh start, but he’s not entirely sure if he’ll direct the sequels. Mark Wahlberg on the other hand, gives us a few plot details on how the government is now againts the Autobots and talks about the dynamic between his character and Optimus Prime who has lost all his faith in humankind. Lastly, Jack Reynor talks about the explosions and being have to act in front of things that are not actually there.
The article also features a whole new screenshot of Grimlock and he looks like he’s about to use his iconic fire-breath. Article also gives us a few facts about his T-Rex mode like it’s ”150 feet long from the tail to the nostrils, 63.5 feet tall from the ground to the top of his horns, and weigh 850 tons.”
You can check out the photo of the article (provided by TFLAMB) and the transcript of the interviews after the jump.
UPDATE: EW also revealed some more details about the movie, and new info regarding Lockdown’s character. Check them out at the link and after the jump. –
Michael Bay: “It’s kind of like a new Transformers. We had three, the first trilogy, and this is going to be the next. …It’s the first of a new trilogy. I’m not necessarily sure that I’m doing [the others], but that’s what it’s meant for.

Peter deserves the chat show circuit rather than boyfriend of the daughter of an aged boyband actor does… not that he'll get it they will shove the youngsters and the middle aged ex boyband guy out to promote it.
Oh and how does mark Walberg get to be "a Thing" when pretty much every movie he's ever done is dreadful ? (But then the same is perhaps true of Nicolas "Nepotism" Cage who has about as much acting ability as your average untrained dog or John Travolta – 'same difference').
The one good thing about this movie (other than it's got Dinosaurs – and Dinosaurs are cool) is it allows the lass to escape being "That girl from the last Airbender" tag a bit – she can be the girl from Transformers 4 now instead (if that is an improvement).

When will we get pics of Grimlock in robot mode?

Why are we talking about DOTM's Chicago battle and not what's in the article?

transformervic1: I hope you're right. Dinobot vs Dinobot combat would be awesome.

I'm sure Grim isn't the only Dinobot with the fire breath. I'm sure there is lots we still haven't seen or know about. I'm sure lockdown has more than a few surprises on that ship of his that he may "let lose"
transformervic1
Happy to see Grimlock has his fire breath. Was feeling worried he wasn't. And interesting thing about Lockdown. So looks like Scorpio was right in that he's pretty much a red herring for something greater. Difference between him and Shockwave is that at least NOW we know this. So I guess the film really doesn't have one specific main villain, but several main villains that occasionally take the focus in the clusterfuck they all create.
I'm still having a problem at just who the dinobots fight. They're too OP to fight, what, 10 chevy tracks? make it more like 50 or 100 at least. If not, then bring on enemy dinobots(I know i've entertained this before but I still think it possible).

Happened overnight. Cons caused a media blackout in the area, so it would have taken awhile for any useful news to break. Takes a day or two to drive from the Florida coast to Chicago, on top of getting back to shore from the ocean, however far they got out. Again: Logistics; learn them.
Don't remember that scene. Youtube link?
toaprime
What was he going to do? Scatter his troops and hope one or two Autobots can protect a city against an army of Cons?
The Cons can go wherever they want to in a second with their space bridge. The Autobots were in the middle of the Atlantic with no transportation other than their vehicle modes. How do the Bots have any chance of getting there sooner?
GWolfv2
Yes. He didn't know CHICAGO. But he knew they'd go after SOMEWHERE. And he waited…SEVERAL DAYS. Long enough for the cons to murder thousands and blockade the city
Optimus spent that whole time organising his face collection and snarking whenever Ratchet suggested they go NOW.
Because
He is

Film's don't advertise actors who appear in a film as a cameo. Though to be fair, the word cameo gets used so loosely these days when actors are describing their roles in a film that it sometimes gets used to describe any role that isn't the lead.
I actually think he's getting named since he's become a big name in his own right after all these years playing the character. I also think its recognition that he's the only confirmed voice/actor returning from the original trilogy.
tonyformer
Not sure if it will be true but Cullen's name could be added in the main cast as it is because there was a rumor that Peter would cameo as OPs actual holographic driver. Again, its just a rumor but I hope its true.
Shark
I noticed that too, and I hope you're right!
And judging by the info they revealed to us in this article about him (and of course the fact that the entire freakin' universe seems hellbent on hunting him down lol), I have a feeling that he'll get lots of screentime. I hope.
Prime Jetscream
The list of main cast mentions Peter Cullen, which is unusual. Maybe Optimus is going to be treated like an actual character this time around, as is being hinted at.

Hey dudes I don't know if this was shared yet but I believe this image was also in the magazine and I haven't seen it on here yet, so…
