Empire Magazine Describes Previously Released Images

There is NO WAY that Megz isn't in the sequel. Don't fall for that BS fellas. Unless the whole movie is about him trying to be resurrected by Soundwave or whoever and fail. But, Bay said that it'll be a standalone movie and won't set up a third one. And why the hell would they change his alt-mode and NOT put him into the movie??? That makes NO SENSE!

I'm guessing thats a 'final battle' thing and not a flashback or 'Meanwhile on Cybertron' thing.
Saying 40 seems a bit specific...if it was loads of drones they could have just gone mad and done hundreds but keeping it back..does that suggest TF characters? or has the US milatary created their own TFs?
Or is the thing hidden in the pyramids a space bridge and a whole lot of reinforcements make it through to beat Devestator and the fallen in the end?

Well most of the principal cast is already modeled, and the 10+ completely unknown Transformers at this time might be all CG, which is little bit cheaper than building various customer peterbilt trucks and camaros to drive around.

I mean honestly, a 50 million dollar increase is a LOT of money, and they didn't spend it on actors, they've spent it on more robots, which is the way to go. If they hired some guy like Brad Pitt, well there goes $25 of the $50 mil, but they stuck with lesser known actors, and even ditched Jon Voight.

$200 million was enough money to sink the Titanic for 4 hours 10 years ago, and fill a theme park with realisitic dinosaurs for 2 hours 15 years ago. The CGI dollar goes a lot farther now

Am I the only one who thinks 50 feet is waaay too short for Devastator? I mean, made of 7 construction vehicles, many of them those huge mining vehicles... I was hoping for 100 feet at least. (Though it still may turn out that way if they're aiming for a shot from the feet so that he looked taller.)

There is no way that Megatron will not be in this movie unless he is re-formatted into Galvatron.

Awesome new pics! I saw one in a newspaper someone was reading on the train this morning and found myself trying to lean over to look at it.

Maybe they were exploring the Galaxy for other places to live in the event something were to happen to Cybertron, or if they needed to launch the Allspark into space; in which case the Allspark intentionally landed on Earth, not by accident.

50ft for Devastator? That seems short, but didnt one of the writers say he was going to be kind of squat--like a gorilla? Maybe he's got a crapload of weapons or something to make up for his small size?

Somehow I'm not surprised. Cept I think the megatron remark is to slightly dissuade us. I don't think 'megatron' entirely comes back as himself right off the bat, or he may go through a naming crisis. There are always ways around comments like that. But I'm pretty near certain he's back for at least a scene with his spindly arm.

Those glyphs do create an interesting aspect of story to tap... Though then again, I showed those here and said that months back too. xD

Plus those glyphs are in egypt, and the cube is in nevada, long before the cube was unearthed, it was still covered by miles of dirt and rock from it's initial impact.

remember that devestator has been described as being gorilla like (not looking like a monkey but being more about upper body strength and huge powerful arms) so if hes hunched over using his arms to support his body like king kong 50 feet is still going to make him bloody enormous and more than big enough to pick up prime in one hand and smash him against the pyramid.
I'm fully expecting him to be very kong like in movement and stature.
I also expect to see some humans get stomped on and at least one of the smaller bots get hit by a full on hand slam to the ground right up in the camera

Megatron surely returns. Devastator is "only" 50 feet? I expected it to be around 80 feet.
I hope the Fallen is really a character in TF2, maybe the archenemy in that movie.

Squat doesn't neccessarily mean small size...I'm picturing something proportioned like Bulkhead which bigger more powerful arms and bigger shoulders and a head appearing to be kinda mid body due to being hunched over, having to use his arms to help him move about like a gorilla. More about brute force than shooting stuff.
Think about how starscream looks, I'm just hoping Dev doesn't have chickenlegs

got my copy today, and according to the article they are speculating Optimus could be killed off.

The scenes being shot in Egypt were some of the final climatic scenes and on the set his truck wasn't spotted even though few other Autobot cars were. Ian Bryce also said "Optimus is not Traveling. He's in the States" which could mean 2 things. either the prop is back in the states of his part in the story is taking place there.

Not that this means anything he could just as well be there and in robot mode which would require ILM's magic touch in post production.

LoL to bay saying the tank is "just a new toy", i don't think he knows the concept art or comic covers have leaked yet. silly bay.

and that's BS that devastators only 50' tall. seriously the excavator that is supposedly one of the shoulders is bigger than a house.

and 40 robots = about 20 or so robots that are cool and 20 that will just DIE!

It's entirely possible they could kill Prime off. It's not unusual for one of the main stars of a film series of this type to have it happen. Though I find it highly unlikely. If they do kill Prime, we might have a "The Search For Spock" themed sequel after this one. Although TSFS's writers had Planet Genesis as a macguffin to bring him back, whereas the Allspark's been destroyed in this film. Soo...I dunno.

Okay. I'd hope so. I personally don't give a crap about The Fallen (I never did. Perhaps the movie will change that for me.)

I think it's awesome that they're using the real deal. Even if it's based on fiction, it might just get people interested in Egyptian history again. We still don't know all the answers and we might find something groundbreaking if people would just become interested again.

This is entirely possible. And I also realize it could be a Bay misdirection, but he could be mistaken due to Hasbro's efforts. For all we know, he might not have Megatron in the film and Hasbro's just trying to cash in.

I mean we haven't heard anything about casting for him, and we most certainly haven't heard anything in the Hugo Weaving department.

Hmm. Crowded, but perhaps not a bad thing. I mean the core Autobots and Decepticons will have the most screen time, with a good dose of Devastator, most likely. The rest are probably filler bots, the redshirts of the TF world.

I couldn't agree more. Wasn't Blackout about 50 ft tall? If long haul is the main dude for Devastator than he should be much larger than 50 feet tall. Although that was a guess. Time will tell.

blackout was like 30ft tall when Prime is 28 and Megs is 32. but some places have prime listed taller, so iunno if the same goes for Blackout

Really, it only takes a few details to deduce the basic plot of this movie (and TF3):
1. The Fallen: IF "the Fallen" in the title refers to the character, then there's no point in using that character, who has a very specific identity, unless you're going to use his backstory.
2. The movie is supposedly about the origins of the Transformers.
3. We've seen images of "Megatron" (a character that looks like him); we've seen pre-release images of a toy we're told is "Megatron". Orci already said they're not sure about whether to use "Megatron" or "Galvatron." Bay's comment, if it means anything, is referring to Galvatron. To me, it seemed obvious at the end of TF1 that the Allspark would turn Megs into Galv.
4. I thought that in the first movie they said the Allspark was launched 1000 years ago, so these ancient earth TFs wouldn't have anything to do with that.

Conclusion:
The Fallen is the Fallen. Megatron will either be skipped or upgraded (or Galvatron is a separate entity who is based upon the same model as Megs).

TF3 will be about Unicron.

bet you my left kidney that Megatron IS in the film.... because.... All the illustrations leaked of book art, the CGI render leaked w/ Ravage, and other images say Bay is, once again, full of it. Told ya'll Bay can't do a misinformation campaign. He's too pathetically obvious.

Actually the Allspark has been on Earth at least 10,000 years before present time. It was Megatron that landed a "few thousand years" or so before present day.

Well, maybe Megs isn't in the movie. Maybe the 'cons find his body to the chagrin of Starscream, and he conveniently pushes his body out into deep space on the trip back to Cybertron... And PLEASE don't kill Optimus! At least wait until part 3!

And just because they're making a toy of Megatron doesn't mean he's in the movie. They also made toys for both Arcee and Wreckage, but they were nowhere to be seen in TF1.

true, but Arcee and Wreckage were reeeally close to being in the movie-they made their toys cause they had to have the toys list in by a certain day, so they threw them in there.though the problem is they got cut-so they had toys made (thats how i think that happened)

but with FABs, they only made the molds for characters in the movie-the rest were repaints
