- Not just green, some of the vehicles are red and yellow
- The previously seen Long Haul concept art (image to left) by Josh Nizzi is legit

There's always room for Chocolate Rain.

And on the subject of Devastator/Brawl, there are a number of ways they could reuse that name.

I was being facetious, because of the front-paging movie rumors and spoilers. The sort of thing that someone *expects* from a movie spoiler site and not so much from a fansite for a toy line. I only brought it up in the first place because I've been admonished in the past for making reference to the "plot treatment" and potentially spoiling things for other people here. So what does it matter if I mention the plot treatment if anyone that comes to the site might have the movie spoiled by a front-page story. I really don't have a dog in this fight - I think spoilers are great!

The wings are extremely thin, so they wouldn't make any robot body part, but probably just be wings or a "cape" in robot mode.

Quetzalcoatalus is significantly larger, but again, very frail build, so not alot of places to store the kibble needed for 'bot mode.
I get your point. But even Pteranodons had 9m wingspans and without mass-shifting would find it difficult to transform into something the size of frenzy. A Pteranodon transformer would be more massive and taller than a person. Frenzy is less massive and smaller than a person. QED

Maybe the combiner changed his name to "Devastator" to honor his fallen tank-bot comrade.

Why would the Decepticons bother having human-pronouncable names in the first place? Don't they not give a s**t about humans?

I am concerned how this will be "red, green, and yellow" transformers...Are these Rastafarian Decepticons?

This must be their human hologram :

ahh the memories!! that would be nice but i think we're all wishing for more easter eggs than they put into tfm1. But I hope there would be more.

on a side note... I remember reading one of the idw comics were some super powerful robots threatened to destroy all the tfs and they were trying to do some "apocalypse" stuff. Prime rammed one of them and his whole front end got smashed.... wth... that's stupid. I hope not to see that in the movie
Ash from Carolina:
Well do they even have to use the name Devastator in the movie? Starscream could say something like "Constructicon combine and destroy!". Even the Autobot could end up saying something like the Constructicons have mergered instead of saying it's Devastator.

Guess the big question is what will they use for names for each Constructicon since we are getting even more of them than the cartoon had. Would the name Bonecrusher get re-used or will they use a new name?

Ha ha, of course if they all die as quickly as the Decepticons from the first movie then will it really matter what names they use since a total jobber is still a total jobber no matter what you name him.

Who knows, but that's a valid point on the no name. Personally I feel they'll tie it somehow to the dead decepticons though. Especially to make fans be all 'zomg devastator really was devastator' eating crow type.

wingspan means nothing. All a pterosaur wings are is the pinkie finger elongated and a thin membrane.

A pteranodon's actual body (chest, legs, torso, etc) was barely larger than a large turkey. Most of the size is in the enormous skull (which was hollow and almost as large as the body).

Can we please get off this, tho... I don't want a mod yelling at me about getting too far off topic. I've been a dinosaur geek to the nth degree for 27 years. I'm done debating the merits of Pterosaurs in Michael Bay movies.

wow someone is using logic in this thread...

the cement mixer is mixmaster, the forklift is scrapper... oddly enough... they are both already real TF movie character... they will be part of devastator.
the combine form is probably not going to be called devestator.
bonecrusher probably wont be one of the parts, even if there is a bulldozer.

No. They were drones developed for the video game. They're not "real TF movie characters". No more than Swindle, Cliffjumper, Hardtop or Wingblade. They may be expanded movie-verse characters, but not "Movie" characters. They did not appear in the movie.
Autobot Spike:
Hmm.. okay.. lots of thought into this.
Ready?
One voyager, 6 deluxe = Devastator yumminess.
That's my

Placing bets as to the official name of this monstrosity. While i expect Devastator would be ultimate fan-service... i can see Constructicon or Bruticus or something like that...actually i can really see Bruticus if there are some "combaticons" involved...

Also like the idea of Super-Pants Optimus in the film for Big-Bot-Battle goodness. Combine with Jetfire perhaps? fly up to take on Devy?

-A.S.

Edit: Expect a digibash coming soon... i kinda really like the Ops-JF idea.
Torque:
im thinking mor 2 voyagers, if they do a crane or something else big. like i said earlier, these toys essentially NEED to be in scale for the combining to work.
Autobot Spike:
here he is! Superpants prime!!!

okay so it would be WAY awesomer in the movie but Jetfire combining with Ops... hell it could be kinda neat. and it's been done before so not out of the question.
Also... in line with my idea that this combiner may end up being bruticus? well Starscream creates bruticus while on that deserted island in G1. maybe moviescream creates bruticus in liu of megatron's return and... well you get the idea.. it could solve the name issue... and bruticus is kind of a bad-ass name.

anyway that's it...

Ok something like that would be really sweet to see in action.
Primus:
I would find it extremely creepy if another autobot merged with optimus prime. I'm fine with him using his trailer in some form but not another autobot.

So, you found all the combining from the last four shows creepy? (not trying to flame btw, just generally curious)

Personally, I'm fine with it, but considering that it's more of a staple of the Japanese written Transformers shows I'd have to wonder if they would even consider doing that... hmm... sounds like a good question for Mr. Orci... might just have to pop in there and ask if it's ever been discussed.

Honestly, I don't like the idea of two individual bots combining. Especially if one is Optimus Prime. I'm fine with groups like Devastator, Predacons, Computron, Superion, etc. When multiple bots like that combine they form a new group consciousness (IMO).

Also, there are some things that I don't want to happen in a live action version of the show that I will allow in a cartoon version. Two bots merging isn't something I want to see. That having been said I really want to see Devastator.

Makes sense. I was just curious. Personally, I think it'd be cool, but that's just me. Though, at the very least I'd like to see Prime combine with his trailer ala Powermaster Prime.

And, yeah, I want to see Devastator as well! Even if he's got a kind of simian appearance (actually, I think this is rather original).
Autobot Spike:
okay... i put a little more time into it... here is SP-Prime: revision 2.

Yeah. That's sweet.

If it actually were real, wouldn't Hasbro's legal department have requested the pics be removed?

What pic? Hasbro/Paramount do not own that pic of Long Haul as that was created prior to Mr. Nizzi joining the art team for the movie. This was covered numerous times throughout the thread.
Bass X0:
Yeah... 29 pages is too long to read all the way through.

from the front page, looks like you are correct. The more time that passed, the more I was afraid you were right. Looks like you were. Now we just have to hope that they can pull it off both visually and thematically.
