Bumblebee Visits Bondi Beach in Sydney BILD0003
Bumblebee visits Sydney in Australia to promote the launch of Transformers Revenge of the Fallen on DVD and Blu Ray! This life sized model of Bumblebee stands 5 metres tall, weighs nearly three tonnes, and took LA Special Effects firm FXperts about six weeks to build. It is being displayed as a part of a mini exhibition which also includes several pieces of original concept art, including concepts for Alice (here simply called "Pretender: Hot Chick") and an early concept of "The" Devastator. The pictures of the display were taken by Optimus 1 of the Australian Transformers fan site Ozformers.

griffin-of-oz:
An Australian Fan (Optimus1 on the Ozformers board) posted up some photos of the Bumblebee promo statue that has visited Sydney, Australia this week (for the DVD release).

Also on display is some Character Concept artwork, including the first I have seen of Ransack and Hightower as proposed inclusions (like Arcee and Wreckage in TF1).
It also lists Hightower as 'Constructicon 10', suggesting more than the 7 vehicle/robot forms that we have toys for.

And amusingly, the early name for Alice was 'Pretender - Hot Chick'.

One of the few times I wished I lived in Sydney...

Also wanted to note the additional pics/article posted earlier in the topic by another of our board members 1Azrael1.

Last day today for any Sydney fans on this board - so hurry on down!
Vince:
That concept pic of Devastator at the bottom is slightly different from the ones we've been seeing...It looks like he's combined 'Scramble City' style, lol with Longhaul forming his head and neck and Rampage forming his right (left?) leg. Maybe the initial idea for the character was that he'd be able to swap vehicles as limbs?
Ra88:
YES! Ransack and Hightower concepts, awesome!

EDIT: And wow, that Devastator looks great, though I like the later head more. Awesome idea to use Long Haul as the head too, and very fitting. Makes me wonder what he would have looked like if they had stuck with the big dumptruck for Long Haul and let him form most of the torso too instead of Scavenger; green and yellow could have looked good together, though I like the red and yellow here as well. Love Scrapper as the leg too, he looks the same as Rampage, yet different enough to still be set apart.
Alienbot:
Interesting how Ben Procter kept using the same picture of Rachel Nichols.

^^^Good call: I was wondering why the concept model looked familiar...

kylash327:
i was just in Sydney, dont recognize the background there.
*Soundwave*:
am i only the only one who thinks that BB statue looks retarded?
griffin-of-oz:
The display was at Bondi Beach, which is part of Sydney.

MarioBilll1:
Long haul's parts make devastator look like he has hair.
blackout501st:
nice concept of hightower. i can see that they took the design for the legends class toy from this peace, rather than the one we saw a few weeks ago of the unused constructicons. Alice still looks creepy. not in a good way ether. that tongue just bugs me..

O_O can't... stop... staring...
peaugh jr2:
I likes meh bumblebee!
Optimus Scourge:
nice
Starwave:
His legs look too long. It makes him look weird.
Kaymac:
Bumblebee looks like he wants to give someone a hug! XD

Anyways, the concepts are awesome. Devastators "Scramble City" style with certain parts switched looks very cool.
Moy:
I'd love to see the high rez image of that Hightower and Scrapper!
Fort Max:
Wait, what, that legends hightower's robot mode wasn't made up...

Not the first time we saw that concept.
Quickdraw:
That statue has a lot of miles on it. You can see some dinks and scratches and something missing from the head. The object is on one side but not the other.
Bahamut Prime:
Wicked cool!

I believe it is. There was a different, but similar concept where Hightower had arms. The picture that was displayed here is what the Legends toy was based upon, and we've yet to see the picture released by the artists, as I recall.
PB379:
I wonder if the Exhibition will make its way to Melbourne.
Rachel:
GO Australia! Thank you Hasbro for bringing Bumblebee to land Down Under.
rhinox1701:

rhinox1701:

jgoss:
