2005 Boards Member RatchetBee had the privilege of witnessing 4 days of Principal Photography for Transformers: Age Of Extinction at the Illinois Railway Museum.
He is sharing with us some cool pics he took while the shooting was taking place. Unfortunately, he can only show us some of the behind-the-scenes photos he took and cannot show the scenes which involved with them.
Illinois Railway Museum acts as a Rail Yard in Texas on the movie and this is what our member has to say:
“Hey guys, I work at the Illinois Railway Museum where parts of T4 were shot and I had the joy of being on set for all 4 days. So being a Transformer fan, I thought I’d share some nice behind the scenes pics. Enjoy!…
I can tell you that none of our trains will be transforming into anything. A total of 3 action sequences and 1 other sequence were filmed at the museum but in the movie it will appear as if they are in a rail yard in Texas. So perhaps there will be a transforming train in the mix just not ours. They filmed 14 more sequences in the corn fields and side streets around the Museum. The opening scene in the teaser trailer with the Union Pacific train was not filmed at the museum.”
You can check out some more info and lots of images from the set at the Thread associated with this news post.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING ALL THIS!!!
I live in Illinois but was out-of-state for the duration of the filming here this time around so it was a nice treat to get to hear about and even SEE so much of what I'd missed!
Plus, my dad's a big train buff so it was cool to hear more about the museum, too. Heard about it years ago but never made it there…definitely on our To-Do list now!
Really glad you guys had such a great time and even got a nice paycheck! So cool that Wahlberg made that donation (and visited the Boy Scout camp, lol) and that Bay bought that crane and even had a last minute rewrite to include the Nebraska Zephyr in the film more.
I use Amtrak ALL the time, but MAN it's got NOTHIN' on that beauty!
Anyway, just wanted to say THANKS again.
Can't WAIT to see and hear more about your experience now that the film's out!!!

This was my favorite scene in the movie and i don't really know what happened in it. All I know is when I saw the steam engines, I was trying to see what roads where there. I know I saw a Burlington and I believe a Milwaukee engine. I do know that the SP SD 7 made me very happy. And yeah, looking at your roster, they should have put the BN F-9's up with all of the shiny GM cars.

Could you imagine that transforming?

This seems like a setup to introduce another one of the Seekers Wheelie identified in ROTF.
1.) There is a lot more than what he's publicly said.
Take that however you see fit.
2.) If you were the first, whoop-dee-doo, queue up the fireworks and start the parade. That's like telling the world you were the one who broke in Pamela Anderson. Nobody cares. Because since you, everyone has been there, done that and it never was, is, or will be not important enough for you to rub it in someone's face.
Don't attack other people. It's rude and reflects poorly on everyone.

Then who did start it?
Achilles1943
why are you wasking that to him? he has not the one who started this conflit…

So can you explain to me how any of this has anything to do with filming at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union IL? Please take your testosterone filled T4 fanboy competition to an appropriate thread. Thank you.

If he was really "on set" he'd have Paramount attorneys so far up his ass they could brush his teeth for breaking his NDA. If you choose to believe the information that he claims to contribute, that's your choice. But I'm not the only one who believes he's just an internet news scavenger. Case in point, take a look at this post http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-movie-discussion/950144-8-7-photos-videos.html#post9857645 He says they'll resume filming in the next few hours, yet at the time of his post they had already been filming for an hour. Uh…I don't know if you've ever been on one of Bay's set, or right next to it like I was for both Transformers: DOTM and AOE, but if you were there'd be no way that you wouldn't know that filming was going on. First of all the shots literally sometimes take hours to set up and when they're getting ready to start rolling film you hear the crew on the ENTIRE set (not just where they're filming) yelling "Rolling!!!", you hear Bay giving a countdown and yelling "Action!!!" on his bullhorn and then a subsequent "Cut!!!" and the crew yelling "We're clear!!!" There's no way you'd be anywhere on set and not hear that.
And actually I'm on here almost every single day, I just don't typically post unless I actually have something I feel is worthwhile contributing or something sparks my interest and/or someone wants opinions on something. Sometimes the less you say the more credence it has.

Few things cooler than pure stainless steel art-deco "moving art".
Here's the best pic I took when I saw it a while ago:

1. Tony WAS THERE on the sets. That's one way he knows and 'reported it'
2. You don't really come on here that much so I can't really scorn you but what I will say is that when I first met Tony I thought he was weird (still do though lol) and I was trying to figure out how he was 'in the know' but soon I just believed him. Now not all the things he says or hints aren't true and he knows that and in a matter of fact he has said it numerous times. Not all the information is 100% accurate either. He can't just give hints that are true all the time he has to throw in some bogus stuff too in order to balance everything out. He doesn't know everything but he defiantly knows more than you or I. I'd look into all of his posts if I were you maybe you will find things out you never figured out before.
Tony is my friend and is defiantly not a parrot. He is The Riddler
And thank you for the videos by the way. They were much appreciated and discussed here.

When exactly did you report this? I know I reported it back on July 11th on TFLAMB. Transformers Live Action Movie Blog (TFLAMB): Transformers 4 China Set Gets Interesting Addition
I was also one of the first, if not THE first, person that published a shot of the Cybertronian sword/gun that Mark Wahlberg was running around the set with. Transformers Live Action Movie Blog (TFLAMB): Transformers 4 Video of China Set Explosions and Sword (Updated) My original reporting has been published in Deadline Detroit, MoviePhone, and Huffington Post. I've got a whole YouTube channel of footage of the filming. What do you have besides a bunch of posts about what you've supposedly found?
Maybe it's just me, but it seems like all you do is scour the internet for other people's breaking news and then report it as if it's something you found on your own…or information you supposedly got from someone on the inside. Just like when I posted a link to a picture that I found was later confirmed to be fake, you jumped right on the bandwagon and said, "The does look like the Grimlock bot concept I seen and the clapper board I was told about." But then as soon as someone said it was fake you removed the whole post. The great TonyFormer is nothing more than a parrot.

THESE PICS ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MAD PROPS!!!!!!! I have actually been waiting to see pics from the Train Museum. I was very curious as to why not one pic was getting out when filming was actually going on. It was probably a mix between closed sets and Union IL being a small town. I have gone to this museum since I was little and know this museum like the back of my hand, and I cannot wait to see it on the big screen 8D
