Altus Airmen talk Revenge of the Fallen 090630-F-2156C-002
We have read plenty of behind the scenes articles for Revenge of the Fallen, so here is one with a difference - Air Education and Training Command has posted an interview with a team of Altus Airmen who were brought in to work on Revenge of the Fallen, to look after the Air Force's C-17 Globemaster III aircraft that were featured prominently in the new film - but they soon ended up doing far more than just looking after their equipment. Read the full article for a very interesting and unique take on what went on behind the scenes of Revenge of the Fallen.

If this has been posted already, my apologies. (I did a couple keyword searches and nothing came up.)

'Transformers' movie features Altus Airmen
by Kevin Chandler
97th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs

6/30/2009 - ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- As local residents crowd the movie theaters to see "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," they might notice some familiar faces. A group of Altus Airmen not only provided consultation to the movie's production team, but showed off their talents on the silver screen.

Capt. Judd Baker, 58th Airlift Squadron, was one of the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft commanders during filming at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., and Holloman Air Force Base, N.M. Captain Baker said, a mission that started as ordinary quickly grew into something much greater.

"Initially we were just there to kind of babysit the airplanes but then, before you know it, the director started getting us involved in some of the scenes," he said.

....

The Airmen also met stars Tyrese Gibson and Josh Duhamel.

"They were great," Major Foster said. "They'd hang out with us and they'd go out to eat with us."

....

Perhaps the most excited viewers were the children who saw their dads on the big screen with some very big counterparts.

When asked about his children's reaction, Captain Baker smiled.

"They said, 'Hey, daddy was in a movie and got to meet Optimus Prime,'... I think that's fun," he said.
Soundatron:
Good read. Be pretty cool if you were a kid and see your dad in the TF movie alongside Optimus.
sherpole:
yeah, give me tears...sob..sob.

Good article! I really liked this one especially the last line. That's a big "awww" moment
firehawc_69:
Good, hopefully this means that Epps is called Chief Epps as his new rank would show. He's no longer a TSgt. Once you hit CMSgt, you are NOT called "Sergeant" anymore. I hope our guys at Altus corrected at least that much...
Dran0n:
Good read.
Railguard:
Sounds cool, I hope we see more of these giants in the next movie!!
MnemonicSyntax:
Cool, Altus AFB isn't but a quick car ride from my house.
TRANS+CRAZY:
Excellent article!
AlphaOmegaBlurr:
This, my friends, is true news.
