Paramount Pictures is launching a cinematic universe around its blockbuster Transformers property that will be overseen by Oscar-winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, Deadline reports. It is stated that the Transformers Franchise will follow a Cinematic Universe, very much like the current Marvel, DC and Star Wars franchises. The series is said to have Sequels as well as Spin-offs.
Mr. Goldsman has worked on famous scripts such as A Beautiful Mind, The Da Vinci Code and I Am Legend as well as the infamous Batman & Robin.
“Taking a page from Fox’s incubation of three Avatar sequels and what Disney is doing to revive Star Wars with a sequels and spinoffs, the studio is negotiating with Akiva Goldsman to work with franchise director Michael Bay, exec producer Steven Spielberg and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura to organize a “writer’s room” that will incubate ideas for a potential multi-part Transformers sequel, and come up with potential spinoff films based on the billion-dollar franchise culled from the Hasbro toy line.” says Deadline. “The Transformers expansion signals that Paramount is serious about competing with its studio peers when it comes to broadening big franchise properties.” says TheWrap.

Dude. You guys have to give Michael Bay a break.
Did you know that he is awesome?
He posted so on his web page. So it must be true then.
Single Elegant Machine
You mean one of the driest fantasy epics of our time?
Livingdeaddan
The potential for transformers to tell epic Galaxy spanning stories and adventures is limitless. Unfortunately the creativity in the minds of the people in charge are extremely limited.
Autovolt 127
Is it really so hard for us to want this.

ITTT: How a toy oriented brand could fill the shoes one of of the greatest fantasy epics of our time.
I like Transformers, but man, talk about delusions of grandeur.
Prime135
The way I see it, now we have a 50/50 shot of getting a good movie. Whereas before we had a 25/75 shot of getting a good movie.
GWolfv2
It's not that he had a stinker, it's that he had…at least ten he's written and double that he's produced or directed. We all get chances…I draw the line at a couple dozen.
YoungPrime
Yeah I think the original show was ahead of it's time. The potential of this project would be high, even Visionaries could fill the void that "The Lord of the Rings" left. Only problem is that Paramount always tend to aims so low. (Bayformers, G.I.Joe, Battleship)
So I'd settle for a decent IDW series and/or an animated show that isn't as ADHD driven as most shows you see on XD and CN.
Hasbro had something with G.I. Joe Resolute but has been dropping the ball with random goofy crap ever since.
CapnScumbone
He's another schlock jock, slinging pablum for the goyim masses. He's not talented, he's just connected, and knows how to appeal to the lowest common denominator. If you've ever read an IDW comic you've read something leagues beyond what this schmuck is capable of.
jgoss
We'll see where this goes. But I like it
Galvatron II
Except it wasn't really a thing until RotF, was it?

Based on what he was attached to in the past I have no hopes for this. Guess this means I'll have to change my username if anything comes out of it.
edit:
Maybe he'll find a way to reinstate the Autobots as friends of earth or retcon other things? *cough*Jazz*cough*
Russian fan
And how many people become truly fans like me! Guys,I'm so glad to hear many good words about Movies! And I'm SO HAPPY THAT MICHAEL BAY STAY with Transformers! My fellow russian friends-TF-fans are also happy!
Bob 121
I'm sure it'll be handled poorly but as long as 3A makes more figures of this stuff I'm happy
Autobot Burnout
Probably because it's the only consistent thing across all four films?
Galvatron II
Not to stop anything, because I'm having a barrel of laughs on the periphery here, but how is it that the thread about Paramount's dumb plans for a TFCU became another weirdly over defensive flamewar about Movie Prime's unbridled heroism?
Autovolt 127
wait what?
Galvatron II
While I think this is generally accurate, I also feel that Movie Prine's apparent mental illness, while hysterical, is a product of the movies themselves' bizarre racist/misogynistic/xenophobic subtexts and attitudes. Within the context of the Movieverse, nationalism, contempt for and dehumanization of one's enemies, myopic fits of rage, etc. are not to be abhorred as overly simplistic and juvenile, but lionized as "true" heroism.
Also notable is that the good Rambo movies are the ones where he's a tragic character instead of a damn superhero…
Wh33l JcK
Yeah I would love to see a reboot myself.
The idea of a universe sounds cool:
You could have a separate more "outerspace" movie like the IDW MTMTE Lost Light. You could go with all the Sunbow/Hasbro shows… Gi Joe crossover, InHumanoids, M.A.S.K.
I would LOOOVE a InHumanoids movie!
Booster Gold
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha…this is hilarious and is guaranteed to either never materialise of be awful.
