Just announced – Chevrolet will be releasing a 2012 Camaro with special Transformers Edition trim. The car will feature the following, above and beyond normal options for the car at purchase:
The 2012 Transformers Special Edition will be offered as a $3,000 package on 2LT and 2SS Camaro Coupes with Rally Yellow paint. In addition to the content offered in the popular RS appearance package, the Transformers edition will feature black rally stripes that stretch over the hood, roof, decklid and unique high-wing rear spoiler; 20-inch, black-painted wheels wrapped in high-performance summer tires; and Autobot Shield logos on the center caps and front quarter panels.Inside, the Transformers Camaro has a black leather interior accented with yellow stitching on the instrument panel, center console, armrests and seats. Autobot Shield logos are embroidered on the front headrests, as well as the center console lid.
Two dealer-installed options are also available: exclusive, 21-inch, black-painted wheels and a black ground-effects package.
Editor’s Note – the yellow featured in the promo shots is NOT Rally Yellow. Rally Yellow is the name for GM’s stock Yellow color, and looks like this. So picture the above options, on that color, and that is what GM will be offering in 2012.

DETROIT – The Chevrolet Camaro returns as the Autobot “Bumblebee” in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, which opens exclusively in 3D Tuesday and worldwide Wednesday. To celebrate, Chevrolet will offer a 2012 Transformers Special Edition Camaro Coupe to Bumblebee fans in the United States, Canada, China, Japan, Europe, South America, and the Middle East.
“The Transformers franchise has helped introduce Camaro – and Chevrolet – to a whole new generation of fans,” said Rick Scheidt, vice president of Chevrolet marketing. “Its role in the films helped make the Camaro the best-selling sports car in America, and one of the best-known cars of any kind around the world.”
The fifth-generation Camaro previously played Bumblebee in the 2007 film Transformers and in the 2009 film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The films generated $1.5 billion in global box-office sales, and helped reintroduce the Camaro to consumers after a seven-year hiatus from dealerships.
In 2009, the Camaro was the most-searched-for car on the web, according to Yahoo!Autos, even though the first models didn’t arrive at dealers until late that year. In 2010, the Camaro assumed leadership of the U.S. sports car market from the Ford Mustang for the first time in 24 years. This year, the Camaro continues to lead the segment, fueled by the introduction of the Camaro Convertible. Chevrolet has sold 40,275 Camaros this year, compared to the Mustang sales of 30,206.
That momentum is expected to accelerate early next year with the introduction of the 550-hp (405 kW) 2012 Camaro ZL1, as well as limited-edition models such as the Transformers Special Edition.

It's the same bright yellow every Camaro's been the past few years. GM doesn't make anything even close to "BB metallic sunset gold", not even for the special BB-edition Camaro.
Sure, the movie car has like a $10,000 custom pearl paintjob that couldn't be mass-produced, but GM could certainly do something at least a bit more metallic and golden to start with, to at least RESEMBLE BB's color. But it's as wrong as it can be, without being blue or red…

Well it's the DOTM car so why would they put the front end of ROTF on it?
PrimusVsUnicron
needs the front grill from ROTF

good show idea."weaponize my ride"

Theres one driving around my town, the 2012 version, looks freaking insane with dark tint.
harrismonkey
Never mind the color- the last picture I saw, it wasn't even the right body design. (which is a shame because I think the DOTM BB car is my favorite version he's had)
Mutantx
Whats the price on this?
haha
Here's a bumble bee repaint for ya. I'm sure the v6 has "pep", but a 454 has balls. Yours definitely looks better.
Kylehudson14
How/where do you even buy it? & that yellow looks a little brighter than BB's yellow :/
TrueNomadSkies
I'm sure Xzibit would be able to help you out with that.
TeamAutobots81
search on Ferrari website n they do have him.
PrimesAngel
I wish I was already graduated with my geology degree making the big bucks so I could buy this car. I would die happy if I could get this camaro
TeamAutobots81
wait till the ZL1 to come out cuz those cars r perfect match for either ROTF or DOTM BB car
friendship pony
i would buy one if it came with a mech tech gun on top
Transmetal
As the owner of a 89 gta I couldn't agree more.

See, that's the thing. I don't care what everyone else is driving, only what I'm driving. All blacked-out makes me happy and it's a classic look, so nuts to anyone else. =) I got a pretty decent price for my car fully-loaded, so the choice was good one and saved me a few grand (that I could put toward other things like new furniture or more Transformers toys, heh). And as nice as Camaros are, they'll inevitably keep reminding me of Bayverse BB. XD
Trailbreaker77
The all black or "Blacked Out" has been done to death. At least I see that a ton on the Camaro boards, I was trying to get a Challenger before I ended up with a Camaro. I just could not deal with the Dodge dealerships no discounts… nothing looking back now I'm glad they didn't deal with me.

Nothing against the new Camaro; does look like a nice car though I'm not a Bumblebee fan at all. Gratz on those who made the purchase, though!
I did go the other opposite direction of imports and just bought myself a new 2012 V6 Premium Mustang in all black and with the Mustang Club of America package (closest thing I'll get to a Bayverse Barricade outside of a Saleen S281E in police markings XD I'm more a Con guy anyway).
I would have waited for the EcoBoost engine with the new Mustang exterior style changes but 2014-15 is a long ways off and I need a new car first thing next year. Besides, the new all-aluminum 305+ hp V6 engine has more than enough pep for me, and I made sure it was fully-loaded (even sprung for the all-glass roof).
Challengers are nice, I see a black one being driven around here locally now and then. All black anything, hey, can't go wrong with that. =)
G.I.EDDIE
i'm a Ford guy, own two mustangs, and i wouldn't buy a new stang or a camaro right now…if i had the spare scratch, it'd be going to a new challenger…those things are TITS!
as for the two camaros in the original post, i like the all black 20" wheels the best…stick 'em on that ZL1 for a perfect camaro…that black body kit and wide mouth front bumper with the the flat black wheels, oh yeah!
Trailbreaker77
Nice welcome to the club.
