Technology Behind The Colombian Transformers: Age Of Extinction Digital Signage Projection Explained

Posted on 04-18-2015 at 09:30 AM by SilverOptimus under Transformers Movie (Just Movie) (All Transformers Movie News)
Colombian-Transformers-Age-Of-Extinction-Digital-Sign An interesting article has popped up on the Digital Signage Today. The article explains the technology behind the Colombian Transformers: Age Of Extinction Digital Signage Projection; which displayed Transformers related product promos at the Calima shopping mall in Bogotá during the run of the 4th movie.

"LPX worked with projection mapping specialists Big Video, who designed a matrix of six Christie Roadster S+20K (3DLP technology, 20,000 lumens, SXGA+ resolution) and two Christie Roadster S+10K-M (3DLP, 11,500 lumens, SXGA+) projectors. Two S+20Ks were used to cover each side of the façade with the main part divided vertically into two areas, each one covered by one S+20K and one S+10K-M.

The video screened on the façade lasted seven minutes and contained fragments of the movie and promotional contents from the sponsors (General Motors, Hasbro, Oreo, Paramount and the Calima shopping mall). The projection mapping display played four times each night over three days, drawing an average of 350 spectators per show."

Shia LaBeouf Recalls The Transformers Live Action Movies

Posted on 04-17-2015 at 11:30 AM by SilverOptimus under Transformers Movie (Just Movie) (All Transformers Movie News)
shia_labeouf_tribeca_h_2015-Transformers Actor Shia LaBeouf who attended the Tribeca 2015 Film Festival yesterday, recalled the time he worked on the Transformers Live Action Movies. Reporters who attended the event stated that his statement was more of a criticism.

"Bumblebee never sounds real, it's just a f—ing name. The name alone you can never make real, no matter how much you put into it, because on the other side, you have a director who doesn't believe it either. So when you work with certain directors who give over and do something that's presentational and you both believe it, then there is no f—ing around, and you really are in this alternate universe."

With plans of a Transformers Cinematic Universe on the horizon, what do you think of this statement made? Fire away your thoughts, on the thread associated with this news post

Michael Bay Join Forces With Alpha Animation

Posted on 04-02-2015 at 12:35 PM by SilverOptimus under Transformers Movie (Just Movie) (All Transformers Movie News)
Michael-Bay-Transformers Director Michael Bay's 451 Media Group joined hands with China's Alpha Animation and Culture Corporation to develop and distribute Hollywood's big brands.

Alpha Animation is also the distributor of Hasbro products in countries such as China, Singapore and Malaysia. Other co-owners of 451 Media Group, John and Anthony Gentile played big roles in our childhood by creating brands such as Micronauts and Visionaries. During the past conference calls, Hasbro expressed their interest in creating a Live Action Movie for Micronauts and it seems as though that plan is being carried out.

With the news of Transformers Franchise expanding to a Cinematic Universe, we can speculate that this new development may play a very vital part in that as well.

"The strategic partnership would allow 451 to develop content like feature films, apps and physical toys based on original intellectual property and disseminate them in unison, said an individual familiar with the deal." says The Wrap.

"This a very well executed partnership within the emerging Chinese entertainment and toy industry, bringing together the strength of both companies in the areas of original IP development for global audiences, product design, animation development and mobile and online channel creation," said Solon So, President of Alpha Pictures.

Akiva Goldsman Hired For A Transformers Cinematic Universe

Posted on 03-27-2015 at 03:25 PM by SilverOptimus under Transformers Movie (Just Movie) (All Transformers Movie News)
Akiva-Goldsman-Transformers-5 Paramount Pictures is launching a cinematic universe around its blockbuster Transformers property that will be overseen by Oscar-winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, Deadline reports. It is stated that the Transformers Franchise will follow a Cinematic Universe, very much like the current Marvel, DC and Star Wars franchises. The series is said to have Sequels as well as Spin-offs.

Mr. Goldsman has worked on famous scripts such as A Beautiful Mind, The Da Vinci Code and I Am Legend as well as the infamous Batman & Robin.

"Taking a page from Fox’s incubation of three Avatar sequels and what Disney is doing to revive Star Wars with a sequels and spinoffs, the studio is negotiating with Akiva Goldsman to work with franchise director Michael Bay, exec producer Steven Spielberg and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura to organize a “writer’s room” that will incubate ideas for a potential multi-part Transformers sequel, and come up with potential spinoff films based on the billion-dollar franchise culled from the Hasbro toy line." says Deadline. "The Transformers expansion signals that Paramount is serious about competing with its studio peers when it comes to broadening big franchise properties." says TheWrap.

In memoriam - Leonard Nimoy

Posted on 02-27-2015 at 02:25 PM by Sol Fury under Transformers Movie (Just Movie) (All Transformers Movie News)
Spock-Leonard-Nimoy We are sad to report that veteran actor Leonard Nimoy has passed away. Leonard Nimoy provided the voices of Sentinel Prime in Transformers Dark of the Moon and Galvatron in Transformers the Movie in 1986, but he will perhaps be best remembered for playing the role of the science officer of the Enterprise, Mr Spock, in Star Trek, in a role that spanned almost 50 years from his debut as the Vulcan in "The Cage" to his final appearance in "Star Trek Into Darkness".

On behalf of the site, of fans of science fiction, and anyone who has gazed skywards and imagined traveling the spaceways, we offer our condolences to Mr Nimoy's family, and we also warmly remember one of the greatest men to have graced our screens in both his acting and his voice acting roles.

Live long, and prosper.

michael-bay-films-pain-and-gain-01 The Maestro of Mayhem (or should we say Bayhem) is turning 50 years old today. Director Michael Bay is known to the Transformers fans as the director who introduced the Transformers Franchise to the modern audience.

Michael Bay worked for the four Transformers movies for nearly 10 years. Mr. Bay was just 40 years old when he took the directorial duties of the first live action Transformers movie under the guidance of Steven Spielberg.

Speaking of which, this February marks the 10th anniversary of the script written for the 1st Transformers Live Action Movie.

So we can say Happy Birthday to both Michael and the Transformers Movie Franchise as well.
