Mark Wahlberg committed to doing "a couple more" Transformers movies

Posted on 12-18-2014 at 06:41 PM by Sol Fury under Transformers Movie (Just Movie) (All Transformers Movie News)
250px-Cade Mark Wahlberg, who played the inventor Cade Yeager in this summer's Transformers: Age of Extinction, was talking to MTV and one of the things which he was asked concerned the future of the Transformers franchise. His response was as follows:

"Yeah, I committed to doing a couple more... you know I can’t speak for Mr. Bay, but something tells me we’ll be on the set soon."

By all accounts it sounds like we might see Cade Yeager make a return for at least one, maybe two more Transformers movies going forward!

Transformers: Age Of Extinction Shortlisted For The Best Visual Effects Award At 2015 Oscars

Posted on 12-06-2014 at 02:24 AM by SilverOptimus under Transformers Movie (Just Movie) (All Transformers Movie News)
87th-Academy-Awards-2015-Oscars-Transformers-4-Age-Of-Extinction The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science announced the top ten list for The Best Visual Effects award for 87th Academy Awards (2015 Oscars) yesterday.

Transformers: Age of Extinction is among the shortlist of movies which includes Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Godzilla and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. It's going to be a tough game since "Apes" seems to be leading the category. So at this point it seems we can't go bananas if the Robots lose to a bunch of monkeys... Apes, I mean Apes.

The shortlisted films are:
  • Captain America: The Winter Soldier
  • Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
  • Godzilla
  • Guardians of the Galaxy
  • The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
  • Interstellar
  • Maleficent
  • Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb
  • Transformers: Age of Extinction
  • X-Men: Days of Future Past

Age of Extinction Packaging Concept Art From Gregory Titus Illustration

Posted on 12-05-2014 at 02:41 PM by Matty under Transformers Movie (Just Movie) (All Transformers Movie News)
27483014d1417796825-cgi-renderings-1415295931991 A very cool piece of news to share with you today coming via Gregory Titus Illustration. On top of the massive amount of infomation of the behind the scenes work that went into the packaging and art design of the Age of Extinction toy line, we have a first look at the package art for Junkheap and Vehicon as well as sketches for the robot modes of Slug and Scorn, which were originally going to be used for the packaging. On top of all that, there are also sketches of alternate character poses and slightly different character designs as well.

From the Gregory Titus Illustration page:

This project was an absolute monster. Pilot was brought in about 18 months before the movie came out. Though well into the design phase of all the Transformers characters, none were completed. We were working with concepts, designs, information, and deadlines that were constantly changing. It was an amazing challenge that we all rose to in typical Pilot fashion. We were brought in for everything, a total overhaul and rebrand of a toy line plagued with different packaging styles for a decade. We were tasked with uniting them under a single, new, and simplified Transformers banner and provide all designs and illustrations to go with it.

Transformers 4 Age of Extinction Emiliano Santalucia Concept Art

Posted on 12-01-2014 at 12:02 PM by Mechafire under Transformers Movie (Just Movie) (All Transformers Movie News)
final-battlep3A Transformers artist Emiliano Santalucia has just posted some Transformers: Age of Extinction concept art up on his blog The art shows various scenes of the Autobots and Dinobots riding into battle, and here's what Emiliano himself had to say about it:

"Just a couple of months ago I received approval on showing at least one piece of the work I did for Transformers Age of Extinction movie.
This is one of the craziest piece I did for the fourth Transformers movie and it was a lot of fun to work on.I did it under the direction of the mighty Aaron Archer who gave me a ton of details to fit into one single image.
I started with a couple of simple composition/mood studies, and then went into the full rendering.

We went throw a lot lot of revisions, including adding Drift, the sparkles and later on we also decided to change the color of the sky.

I loved adding all the dust and atmospheric elements, creating chaos during the battle.
There is so much going on that something can get lost, like Bumblebee fighting a bunch of Decepticons behind Grimlock.

There will be more? The title of the post suggests yes, as I did several other pieces, so, hopefully I'll get permissions to show some others in the following years."

Steve Jablonsky Explains Why Transformers: Age Of Extinction Score Was Removed From iTunes

Posted on 11-20-2014 at 03:30 PM by SilverOptimus under Transformers Movie (Just Movie) (All Transformers Movie News)
AgeofExtinctionScore Composer Steve Jablonsky updated his Facebook Page to explain why Transformers: Age Of Extinction Score was removed from iTunes:

"Now because you guys are so awesome, the TF4 score hit 15,000 units really quickly. I honestly had no idea the score had been pulled down until fans started contacting me asking why the soundtrack had vanished from iTunes, only a couple months after the release of the film. I suspected the 15k limit was the reason, a little investigation proved that to be the case."

Movie Dinobots Concept Artwork by Xylac Industries

Posted on 11-05-2014 at 02:22 PM by Sol Fury under Transformers Movie (Just Movie) (All Transformers Movie News)
tumblr_nekpy8YG4J1rsgh74o4_500 Concept artist Xylac Industries have shared some interesting pieces of concept artwork of the Dinobots, which they were commissioned to produce by Hasbro three years ago. It's mentioned that these artworks were not produced specifically for Transformers Age of Extinction but as a part of a wider study of a different aesthetic style for the Transformers live action movie universe. It's mentioned that the new aesthetics included "layering to see the inner mechanic structure under a transparent layer, organic shape to the Mechanic - Musculature, new silhouette, new panel segmentation styles, Organic forms and Muscle system."

Once again these are not specific Age of Extinction concept arts but ones produced to explore a new artistic direction. You might also find it interesting to know that all of these arts were produced in a tight two-week timeframe. Check them out!

Michael Bay Not Directing Transformers 5?

2833405-bay_EXPLOSION-300x237 IGN has just confirmed that Michael Bay will not be returning to direct Transformers 5.

After going back-and-forth multiple times concerning his directing the Transformers movies, it appears Michael Bay has finally decided not to return, instead opting to direct a Benghazi drama, titled "13 Hours" based on the novel by Mitchell Zuckoff.

The 5th live action Transformers film was officially announced earlier this month at the Hasbro third quarter 2014 earnings conference call, although after the box office success of Age of Extinction many assumed a 5th installment was a certainty.

Who's your choice to fill Michael Bay's spot? Discuss what you think about this revelation after the jump!

Variety has posted a Transformers: Age Of Extinction Featurette on their You Tube Channel. Titled Big Robots, Big Sounds, the clip features sound designing for Transformers 4.

Michael Bay likes everything to look and sound cool. But as Variety's Tim Gray learned from sound re-recording mixers Greg P. Russell and Scott Millan, cooler doesn't always mean louder.
