Speaking to Sci-Fi Wire, Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman talk about their inspirations in making the new Movie and about raising the emotional stakes. They explain that they are modeling the sequel to last year’s live action movie on the movie sequels that they love – including Superman II, The Empire Strikes Back and Aliens.
The key question is in raising the emotional stakes to new heights. As Roberto Orci states: now that the Transformers are characters, how do you bring them to life some more?

What is the irony of his name? Is that a name of a character in the Transformer world or something? Just curious…

Looks like I'm not the only one who MIIIIGHT watch another 90 minute Bay-a-thon Explosiapaloosa and wonder,,, "would the courtroom drama have been a better way to go?"
Actually I love Cullen's voice so much, I'd watch him play a prosecuter (or cop) in an episode of Law and Order.

So Optimus Prime goes to a trial? That would be interesting to watch.

I agree. It was short, but nice. Thanks for posting.

Love this part:
Now? They have been characters since 1984. Certainly people will remember Starscream for his treachery in both cartoon and comic materials, and not for his 'awesome' two lines in last year's movie.
I love how these writers are so full of themselves… I'm not expecting anything better or more in-depth then Bayformers, but what I'm really worried about is Star Trek… how they'll mess that one up, well I cannot imagine, but I'd be surprised if they didn't. After all, they need to 'bring the characters to life' pretty much disregarding all previous materials.

You know what? I would watch a transformers courtroom drama. Especially if Epps was a witness and shouted 'Bring it!' when called to the stand.

Well, this proves that I'm human

I thought the same thing. I wonder if this Pat acctually wrote the article, or if someone did it for him.

I have to mention the irony of the writer's name being "Patrick Lee", lol. (((unless I read something wrong?))

Hopefully they WILL bring these robots more to life- one major flaw in the first movie (mainly that the personalities WERE lame… then again they learned from the internet…)

Who wants to start a pool betting that some mouth-breather reads only the first paragraph of that and starts ranting about how Bay's courtroom drama has raped his childhood?

Maybe Robot Chicken or some other show could run with that first bit as it would be pretty funny.
Ravenxl7
Cool. Nothing really new though. I like the little joke talk at the beginning.
SPLIT LIP
Sounds good. Lol at "Courtroom drama".
