Facebook Transformers group, TransformersCars, has posted a new interview with Transformers film actor Tyreese Gibson. Tyreese touches upon the Fast and the Furious franchise, his new album and briefly on how he would love to return to the Transformers films. In the interview he says:
“I was just with Michael Bay a couple of weeks ago. I said Mike I am ready baby. If there is anyway to reprise my role and bring back Epps, I would love to do it.”Could we potentially see the character of Epps appear in the possible expanded Transformers film universe? Discuss the possibilities after the break.

He was a weirdo but of the good kind.
I want to meet Old Dutch.
HoneyPrime
I wouldn't mind seeing Dutch again either. He was right up there with Epps and Lennox in my book.

I just live with the thought that Cemetery Wind and whomever just killed off all those who were friends with the Autobots. After all, noone steps forward to protest on behalf of the giant robots.
…though maybe we can assume Dutch sailed off into the sunset, and sought refuge somewhere in the Caribbean.

Yes, please
Amen to that

That's what action movie characters are it isn't a fine hundreds of page novel where they can go off and have deep heart felt inner discussions with themselves about their feelings.
My favorite line he has in every movie is whooooo at some point.

Personally I enjoyed his role in Transformers tremendously and was seriously hoping they brought him (and lesser extent Josh Duhamel) back in TF4.
While I thought Kevin Dunn and Julie White were also great, even the remote possibility of Sam being the completely confused human being just doesn't work (nothing against Shia LaBeouf, I think the script was just crap).
If there's ONE person that should be brought back, Tyrese Gibson should be it.

Bring back Epps? The only human character I genuinely liked? sure, go for it.

Tfwiki's caption on the pic at the top of his page: "My character archetype is how you know it's a Michael Bay film!"
Autovolt 127
Yeah I agree with you Epps feels more well rounded while Lennox feels more like a sterotypical Hollywood soldier.
seriously the wife and kids never got mentioned again.
HoneyPrime
I would be so excited to watch another TF film with Tyrese and Josh. Bring em on.
And I noticed something. Tyrese said he talked to Michael Bay a few weeks ago? Well then, that kinda tells me that Mr. Bay didn't walk away from Transformers. Has he changed his mind again? Or perhaps staying with the franchise but just not in the directors seat? Interesting…..

Personally I wouldn't want anything between the first three films simply because the IDW tie ins already fill that out nicely. It'd be best not to turn this into Star Wars where you have three different fill ins and endless debates on which is canon.

A movie with all first and second trilogy characters…I would cry.

no… no… no more excuses for having TF movies on Earth, they finally show a Transformer actually LEAVING the solar system for the first time (as opposed to the dozens that come here and never leave) and we want to have a character that pulls us right back to Earth?
How about this:
The autobots team up with some ex-Nest members without authorization of the government. They either break into a off the books weapon facility or hunt down some crazy rogue researcher to get weapons for humans that actually work decently against TF's (and NOT made of transformium). This takes no more than the first 30 minutes of what will be an almost 3 hour experience no doubt.
The ex-Nest team then goes full rogue and with the Autobots blast off for Cybertron (or wherever the hell OP used the jet pack he forgot he had for several years went) and bust in just in time to save him from being convicted and executed at a trial (a little 1986 TFTM anyone?).
then 2+ hours of full on Transformer on Transformer civil war, with just Epps, Lennox and maybe a squad worth of humans along. Hell you can even take Cade Yeager along if you like, with his daughter in college and farm exploded, he's got nothing better to do I'm sure.
less American flags
less product placement
no creepy quasi-pedophilia
lots more robots
lots more booms (which I'm good with if they're robot based booms).
End credit scene, Galvatron wandering around the midland tundras of Asia, trying to figure out why there are no autobots to smash.
otherwise, no Epps.

If I had to pick one person to return from movies 1-3, it would be him for sure.
bman29
Yeah it would be cool if he was coming back in a spin-off or a regular film. Give me Simmons too. Need some humor in there.
The idea of him and Hound and Crosshairs to me as a spec/black-ops team hunting Decepticons down would be cool. Possibly Decepticons aligning themselves with evil dictators would be something fun to explore.
Every time I see the trailer for Fast and Furious 7 where the cars are coming out of the cargo plane and falling I imagine them transforming and deploying chutes in a paratrooper type fashion. Crosshairs already was something of a paratrooper in AOE.

Well, with the fact that Paramount is wanting to create a cinematic universe, I could see him reprising his role. I would like to see a NEST movie take place, say, between the events of TF 1 and Revenge of the Fallen. Heck, maybe even after the events of Age of Extinction, the government realizes it's mistake, gets Epps and Lennox back together, and they put NEST back together. I would love to see that even.
AutobotJazz1
Would love to have Epps back.

Yeah, with Lennox, all we know about the guy is that got promoted to Major, he has a wife and kid (never seen again after the first movie), and doesn't like pencil neck bureaucrats giving him orders. And that's about it. Wish they expanded on his character a little more.
Epps had more of character arc where he was promoted to Chief, retired from military service, works for NASA with a nice cushy civilian job, and (despite losing some hope at the sight of the odds stacked against them) still agreed to help Sam and the Bots fight off the Cons in the Battle of Chicago with the rest of his retired military bros.
I'd like to see him return and flesh out his relationship with the Bots more as that (interactions between NEST soldiers and Prime's team) was never really explored.

Out of Epps and Lennox, Epps was a stronger character. I wouldn't mind a film with the two as protagonists where Lennox teams up with Hound who can claim that he fought alongside Ironhide (because come one, Ironhide was Lennox what Bumblebee was for Sam) plus, Lennox can finally express how losing Ironhide effected him. and Epps could team up with Crosshairs. I can imagine how great the dialogue could be between them, they would both get along and not get along.
