Likely due to their recent financial troubles, Jalopnik is reporting that General Motors will be auctioning off many recent or less important vehicles in their corporate Heritage Museum Collection through Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale, Arizona in January. Among the cars listed to be sold is one copy of the Pontiac Solstice that was used as Jazz’s vehicle mode in the live-action movie. For a fan with a loaded bank account, this could be your best chance to own a big piece of Transformers movie history.

I remember reading about this in Motor Trend. Built by John Moss, it is an absolute beast. I would love to have this one.

Obviously, I wasn't as "wigging out" or as "rabid" as you thought I was, otherwise I wouldn't have thought so. I didn't say anything to deserve that response. If you think differently, I am genuinely sorry, but them's the breaks. I wasn't intentionally doing anything but sticking to facts.
Gadep
What?
you come across like an ass…totally wigging out on what i said about the back of a stupid bio on a package…and you have the idignation to say that i was rude???
maybe you might check your responses to folks here in the future..
Baltan
How rude.
That wasn't my point to him at all. Personally, I'd much rather have characters like Jazz and Bonecrusher alive in some form than the disappointing appearances they made in the first film before their respective deaths (but I was always okay with Blackout and Brawl dying, their existences seemed more satisfying). And the bios explaining their revivals worked for me and fit the characters.
The point I was making was that the G1 Jazz was one of those cases where the toy canon and film-only canon were irreconcilable. There's any number of ways Jazz could return without GM requiring continued ownership of the Solstice. What I was saying to Gadep was that him returning to life in that repaint's color schemes wouldn't be one of them. He's most certainly free to make up any ideas he wants though.

Anyone here ever see a Solstice up close? That thing is TINY! I don't think your average Transformers nerd could even fit in it!
Dropshot
They are actually selling two Jazz's. The first is the proper silver solstice featured in the movie, the second one is the Solstice Weekend Club Racer, which is the modified solstice they used as Jazz, it is the same exact car, teh difference is that the WCR is metallic orange and the rims are different, but oddly enough, the toy had the same rims as the WCR and not the ones featured in the movie.

Jazz is back in the movie, he tell me, so it must be true
NotoriousBIC
Uhoh, and Alphie just bought a new car…
Basketball Jones
If Jazz returns, he will almost certainly have a new alt mode to promote a new GM vehicle.
Spekkio
Right now GM is the charity.
And one of the 'Jazz' cars from TFTM07 is very different from a normal production Solstice – and not just because it was used in filming or promotion. The normal Solstice is a convertible. Jazz 07 was a customized Solstice coupe. GM is only starting to produce Solstice coupes for the 2009 model year – and they don't look like Jazz. They also have a removable roof panel.
There's probably information *somewhere* about how the various cars were customized for TFTM07, but I don't recall where and I need to go to bed.

You know I sort of wonder if you can really have any canon at all when there is nothing that forces any of the movie branches to agree on anything. I mean one thing in the movie, something else in the paper back books, something else in the comic books, something else in the toys. Where is the line to say what's canons and what's not?
If someone wanted to consider the toy line canon over events in the movie because they have more investing in their toy collection than in the movie then can anyone say no you have to take the movie as the only canon? Couldn't the toy collect just say that the toy line is the canon they go by?
That or maybe it's just me for thinking the whole canon thing is just far over rated.
Optimus1986
I know. Typical. Out of all the Autobots, the black dude died first. Man I wish we saw more of Jazz. When he spoke his first line in the movie, I literally shot soda out of my nose because it was so random. Poor Jazz.
Optimus1986
No mon, no fun. Indeed. I have a question. Is it my imagination, or is the Solstice strictly a convertible? I have never seen a hard-top Solstice like Jazz for sale or driving around anywhere.
Man I want that!
Rodimus_Prime88
coz based on his voice and mannerisms in the movie, jazz was considered the "black" transformer, smart one.
Bumblethumper
Okay, so there's about 200 cars on that list. I imagine, combined, it'll net them several million.
A lot of money, but really a drop in the bucket when you consider they're losing something like a billion per month. They'll be lucky if they even make enough to pay the bills for one day.
But it's probably a good thing politically for them to humble themselves like this, especially when grovelling for bailouts.
Railguard
Huh, I'd rather buy more tf's than a car.
Gadep
yeah whatever..offered an opinion/idea…did not say anything about movie canon…could give a fuck about movie canon…if you want to get fanboy rabid about everything…have fun….

It must be over in Animated since he gets to do cool stuff over in the cartoon.
Between not getting to do enough cool stuff in the movie and not getting a deluxe figure during the classics/universe run you might be right to wonder why we haven't gotten more love for one of the Autobots best characters.
Baltan
The toy bio for the Target Jazz is no more movie-canon than any other movie recolor. Bonecrusher did not become reanimated, turn green, and live out his existence in South America, Barricade did not become a Rent-a-Cop, Starscream didn't change his colors from movie to G1 for fifteen minutes between TF1 and 2, and Optimus doesn't change his colors at night.
Jazz could, perhaps, maybe, possibly, but not definitely be alive. A Target exclusive version in G1 colors is not proof one way or another, and a G1-colored Solstice is not going to happen in the movie either way.
Gadep
if you read the bio on the back of the movie target exclusive G1 deco jazz…it says that when he was restored to life aka fixed he wanted to change his look…
could they be bringing jazz back as G1 colored and thus they do not need the silver colored jazz and might be using the g1 painted jazz instead for the 2nd movie????
