MP-22 Ultra Magnus dropped late last year and we here at TFW2005 have a full high res gallery of him ready for you today! He is a massive figure, standing tall among his Masterpiece brothers. He doesn’t transform like previous versions, instead keeping the cab and trailer connected. In each mode though, he looks like he should, a beefed up hybrid of the G1 toy and cartoon. We’ll leave the reviews and feedback to the fans.
This sponsored gallery is coming courtesy of site sponsor TFSource, so we’d like to thank them for providing the figure to shoot! You can grab MP-22 Ultra Magnus from them right now; they are in stock and shipping!
For some supah cleah high res images though, check out our full gallery here: TFW2005’s MP-22 Ultra Magnus High Resolution Gallery.
We’ve attached some key shots after the break, read on to check em and discuss on the forums!

I smiled and nodded my head in agreement with every post on this page.

Yes, "so" out of scale! And what's the deal with this whole three dimensional physicality thing made of plastic that we can actually hold AND transform AND pose AND display?! It's bullshit, that's not the way it was in the show!! I want flat 2-D colored squares & rectangles that I rearrange on a pin board – THEN it would be perfect accuracy! HasTak and their monkey "engineers" can suck it til they do it right!

Is this getting a US retail release?

That's life people will always have their likes & dislikes.
Edit: you have something in common with this guy.

One cannot argue scale with this franchise The only consistency has been the animator's inconsistency at rendering scale. Ultra Magus should always have towered over Prime, Sludge should have towered over all other Dinobots, Seekers should have been much larger than the Autobot cars, etc.

Alright, with this one and the post about how the designer wanted the figure to be "armor" for a White Convoy, my stance has softened a bit. But to play devil's advocate further, you DO need to take the face off to swap it; Wheeljack doesn't have a second face to display
A. Never claimed to be a Geewunner; in fact, I consider myself pretty accepting of all the different forms the franchise has taken. But thanks for the blanket labelling; my "disappointment" (and now I think that was the wrong term to use) quelled mostly from my dislike of the idea that cartoon Magnus was just a Super Mode Prime with a cab paintjob, and the plethora of white Prime repaints to represent the character over the years hasn't helped, either.
B. Even if I was, the line is pretty blatantly a G1-cartoon homage with a few hidden nods to other variations (Bumblebee's toy face, Prime's folding gun, etc).
EDIT:
*shrug* You have to make SOME compromises. I don't think Prime ever quite towered over Prowl and Sideswipe as he does in these toys, but for Magnus' car carrying thing to work, both he and Prime need to be that much bigger.

I Agree. These pictures are very high quality

So out of scale. I still don't get why people love this thing haha.

When does the TRU version hit the shelves?

can anyone tell me what happened to the coin with American reatailers? I never saw it offered?

I didnt say those photos are bad at all, thats just completely different thing. Ofc there are nothing wrong with them for ppl like you. Light, composition etc are nice!
Good thing is that mr. Tony_Bacala is clever person who likes to take pictures and want to make them look better. We have talk via PM and he clearly understand what im talking about.
Yes, its as you said. It wont show on smaller images, but once you open bigger oone on 1:1 and want to study details it pop up, especialy on black fabric background. I dont suffer from this problem since i dont use black backgrounds and fabric material at all. I think it would be better to try to fix that dust somehow then fixing those "dots" in postprocess on every photo.
Cracka J
There is some dust on some of the pics if you do blow them up to the 2048px mind2wipe was talking about. But I mean if you photograph on black you should know this happens…a lot. Its not a problem with the camera or the lens…it's just dust. And it picks up extremely easy at high resolutions and BLACK background shooting. I personally keep both a duster and canned air next to me when I shoot that way so I don't have to do much (if any) post editing. It's still not a guarantee though.
Also I had to painstakingly look through those 2048px shots to find reference to what mind2wipe was talking about. It's barely even noticeable, especially if you are just cruising through the galleries. Just as hard if you have them blown up. I mean we're talking about playing where's waldo here in a sea of mostly solid black.
Pics look great to me and it's good to see TFW breaking from that solid white BG photos that dominated (or were standard) to the galleries before. Much prefer the variance that has been happening these days.

I take tons of robot photos. These photos are fantastic and well beyond my abilities. Great work, and thanks for taking the time to produce and share these with us!
Getting this thread somewhat back on track: do the BT/ALT line fit within the trailer?
prime326
Seriously? These pictures are awesome and he was kind enough to share them with us. End of story. He made MP-22 look like a work of art. Enjoy that for what it is. Honestly, this has to be one of the dumbest arguments and I do believe "rude" points made on this site…and believe me there have been some doozies.

At first:
You should put all that effort to notice basic things instead writing what you did. Np, i will do it for you. You can see that this auction is from Shenzhen, China. Then you can look under my profile pic where is said Location: Czech Republic. Thats around 8600km difference. It would be kinda hard for me to travel that distance just send some cheap cleanin kits dont you think?
And second:
Why you call it absolutely rude? Why you just dont read it as i wrote it. Photography is my hobby, believe it or not, i opened those pics in full resolution and i noticed some marks on them, those were same on each pic and since i already have experience with lense, sensor and mirror cleanings on DLSRs i just said what was obvious. Sometimes it can happen, dust, noise, dead pixels etc. On usual pics you see here and there with lets say 900px resolution you wont find it. This pics is 2048px and thats where you can see it. And thats still reduced resolution, not full one (today cameras have 6000x4000px or even more without problem).
That kit i linked have everything you need to try clean your camera at home if you have this problem. And its nothing unusual, its just common maintenance to clean your lense time to time. If you change lenses, static electricity can easily pull some dust into your mirror. I dont know what you see in my post, but what i see was just quick little advice to buy cheap kit and do 5 minut maintenance on camera. I send marked spots on pics to Tony_Bacala and wrote him easy guide how to check if his sensor realy is dirty or if it was only some reflections etc. Its good to see that he is not trying to see something different then what was written in that post. Someties, it just mean what it says, dont search some hidden insults everywhere, thats little bit paranoid.

awesome job on the Photo Tony, love them. bring back the good old time.

Very nice gallery. I had to scroll back on the movie scene pics as well. If my budget was like it used to be, I might just shell out some big bucks on this one.
Tony_Bacala
OK guys let's chill with that. We spoke via pm and everything is cool. No need for that.

My personal take is get MP10 just for both versions
That aside MP10's more accurate in alt mode but I do think MP1 is a little more accurate in bot mode. MP10 avoids lot of the weight issues MP1 had so it's much more stable; it also comes with a trailer which is a plus, it's scale is matches Rodimus and every figure since MP10 bases it's scale on MP10. Also in terms of scale he sizes well with pre AOE Leader class figures. MP10's fold up gun is a nice feature and his axe looks nicer.
That said MP1 is overall more posable, has that nifty suspension, can wear his axe on either arm, and has an opening matrix (MP10's is a bit more solid appearancewise though and it's die cast). Pros and cons to both but I would likewise recommend both. Mind you if you're getting either the Hasbro or Takara normal releases of it you also get a spike and Roller.
SiamGXPrime
No Grimlock? lol. In anycase I have the MP-01 Prime. Should I get the MP-10 rerelease? Which is more accurate? Decisions.. Love the gallery!
