Thanks to the folks over on 2chan, we get a look at some upcoming Masterpiece figures via Japanese hobby magazines released recently. In them we see MP-20 Masterpiece Wheeljack in full color, along with another shadow teaser of a potential Masterpiece Ultra Magnus, this time a little more real in it’s silhouette. Check out the shots after the break and discuss on the forums!

I think those better scans show that the windows and indeed the wings have some transparency. Apart from the weird thin waist, which could be the angle of the photo, I think he looks great.

Very nice! Thanks!

Found some clearer scans over on seibertron.

Maybe Hasui love Autobots more than the Decepticons? haha
BWfan86
I'm guessing with Kobayashi taking over all MPs after Magnus, we'll be in for a wave of decepticons: megs v2, galvatron, shockwave, another seeker redo possibly, coneheads possibly.
It made sense to churn out a bunch of licensed autobots to ride the wave of popularity/ sales, which would help convince more car companies to come on board. Glad they struck while the iron is hot and got wheeljack and bee licensed now lest they have trouble later or the line collapses (hope not).

MP Autobots after MP Autobots…when can we see another MP Decepticon leader like Galvatron, Shockwave or Astrotrain, TakaraTomy Inc.?

I am sure excited to see the official confirmation for MP Ultra Magnus, other than the tiny gun,i like what i see so far.

^ I agree. I think Hasui even mentioned something to that effect in an older interview. I am still trying to figure out how they made that work in terms of the tranformation, to hide part of the hood stripes in bot mode.
Afterburner
I think that is on purpose to help simulate teh simplified stripes of his robot mode in the show.
Stepper
The red and green stripes on MP Wheeljack legs does not match the stripes on the front of the car but i guess nothing is perfect after all.
LegendAntihero
That's what happens when you hot link. Don't worry, someone will find the pics again eventually
Fort Max
Look on the front page, they'll be mirrored on there somewhere.
TrueNomadSkies
Yeah I'm not seeing any pics either.

Right now I'm more than happy focusing exclusively on MP figures. I would rather buy one or two figures I really like instead of buying 10-12 figures that ultimately disappoint me.
Autovolt 127
The pictures that were found on Twitter on the first post are gone?
anyone have a link to them?
Robogeek28
Yeah, THOSE will fit in an MP collection.
IgnikaMarcus
Get the Classics/Generations ones then.
Because believe it or not, one cannot build a collect soley on Masterpiece figures.
Robogeek28
We damn well better get the Coneheads, as possibility of official ones someday is the only thing keeping me from buying the IGear ones again.

I really don't think it works that way. It seems more like they only release 2-3 new molds in a year while releasing as many repaints as the market will bear. Even if TC and SW get their own MP number (which they should, just like Silverstreak and Smokescreen did), that would not impact the new molds that would be released that same year.
The MP line is not based on the wave system set up for the mainline releases where they have a certain number of slots to fill and those slots can be filled with repaints or new molds but won't go over that certain number of figures.

Coneheads would be fine by me, at least would have to be slightly remolded compared to all of the other seekers. Also, if Takara does them, that wouldn't make them shelf warmers in the US.
I just hope that if Takara considers redoing Thundercracker and Skywarp with the MP-11 mold, they don't treat them as main releases, as definitely don't want them to take up one of the precious few MP release slots Takara seems to have for each year.
