I like the fact that Takara-Tomy is stepping up to the plate and challenging 3rd parties. This is without a doubt a direct response to the "not-Soundwave."

100 for siedswipe def more reasonable than 140. Bbts should adjust price soon I think.

doubt its a response. Takes at least 2 years to develope these figures. No way they saw the 3rd party sw and decide to make their own and be done so quickly. Though it wouldn't surprise me if takara told the makers of the 3rd party sw to stop cuz they don't want a competing product.

I honestly would rather have Galvatron or Cyclonus then Soundwave. Guessing no cassettes are gonna fit this guy.

Nice to know it's official. Now to see what they do with the cassettes. I hope he comes with Lazerbeak, rumble, and ravage. Maybe that's too hopeful, but Soundwave really wouldn't be complete without at least thoose three. It would be worst than Prime without his trailer.

Week there's $370 gone real quick. Sweet need about alert! Hope he gets at least a new head, but as long as he gets his light bar, I'm happy.

I wouldn't be so sure - if the overall proportions are only slightly larger, then the chest mechanism might be designed to take the original cassettes rather than a whole new standard.

I expect there might be a cassette or three included anyway. Wouldn't be Soundwave without Ravage and Laserbeak at the least.

US release - definitely. I can say with certainty we'll see this one in the US, moreso than Sideswipe & Red Alert.


As for Red Alert - I really should have seen him coming, but wow, still a real leftfield reveal.

They are really cranking it up with the MPs. The $99 level is more palatable, but I was hoping for about $10 less. I really need to knock out a couple more old ones and earn some extra cash to grab all these. This is gonna be a fun line.

Well I have little doubt he will be the size of Starscream and not Sideswipe. I also have a very hard time believing he won't be packing any tapes.

Actually I think Sideswipe's price almost seems a bit more ouchies. He's...really not a big toy.

I paid $80 for MP Rodimus, a much larger and complex robot. Why would I want to pay $100 for a shorter, duller and blockier side/red? I hope the US version price drops to $80 or less or I'll have to pass

I'm betting Soundwave's high price tag is because he includes at least some of the minions and MP3 fuctionality (basically a larger version of Device Label). Integrate speakers too and watch the $$$ roll in

$100 is about the max I would pay for that Sideswipe mold, so it's about what I expected. Soundwave I hope is either a bit larger or comes with a few well detailed tapes. I would be happy to see a tape pack in the future though.
