Sky-Shadow-Robot-28
We've got a new Transformers Generations Gallery for you now. This time out, we're giving some love and attention to the other new release in the current Generations assortment, Sky Shadow. Sky Shadow is an awesome little toy - very sharp in black and red, with enough remolded parts to make him a unique robot all of his own. He's also a homage to the original 1989 Transformers Victory Black Shadow, himself a Thunderwing remold - as the original was exclusive to Japan, this new toy marks the first time this particular character has ever been released outside of Japan.

I can't think of a better example of how a new head and deco makes me do a 180 on a toy.

I have to agree. While I enjoyed Thunderwing at the time, when I look at Thunderwing alongside Sky Shadow, I really feel like Thunderwing has a pretty pathetic excuse for a head.

Hasbro should do these 'exclusive Japan-only' centric characters more often. I know they'd get my money every time!
NexMortuus
you know what i just noticed. Sky shadows head resembles that of astrotrains. did hasbro re tooled the head would not be surprised but still great execution
Prowl 2009
Man, this guy is soooo badass! Want him badly!
bsutton1
I got him last weekend. However, their was a bad paint job on part of his chest.
Some of it was white. I'm replacing him soon as I find another one.

I just opened Black Shadow today too. I decided he has a crush on Nightbird. Got a problem with that?

Blackie loves Nightie. Mafia and Yakuza.

There's a new sheriff in town, and he's looking to take down the space mafia!

I'm taking you in!

Ninja ATTACK!

Um, thanks honey...

Tampalicious
Now that's what transformer faces look like.

Anyone know the DCPI for this at Target?

^The original, vintage Blackshadow can go from anywhere between $700 for a used stickered piece, to $1,000+ for MISB. And I am speaking from first hand experience..

I love this toy! Face sculpt and color scheme. Now I read his wiki and love him more! I have to admit that Thunderwing pales in comparison. But this guy is going on my shelf with Deathsaurus and his crew!

i agree, I like Thunderwing but was not sold on buying a second version of this mold, but ORIO convinced me i should try him out, so i picked him up last week with Junkheap, and love the hell out of him... he's so fantastic. the head and chest really make this feel like a brand new toy entirely. really glad i listened to ORIO on this one...

I also want to know what the sword is from? because i was telling ORIO i thought he would look awesome with a sword, and now i'm even more convinced...

It looks like the swords that's part of Infinity Warfare Set II by Junkion Blacksmith.

Sky Shadow ftw!
brr-icy
mine's in the mail, can't wait, after the reprolabels set on thunderwing though, i think i like them both evenly
Seeker
I will go ahead and buy him remolds are getting to be a bit bad on the budget but he is distinct enough to warrant it.

Sky Shadow ftw!
My apologies, yes it's the Infinity Warfare II sword. As he's from Victory and they all had swords and what-not in that series it seemed appropriate to snap a couple of pics with him wielding one.

^Excellent idea and execution!
Doug
I picked one up at Target several weeks ago.
Scaleface
He really only had a knife in the series, but yes, they were sword happy on that show.

yeah, i need to order some reprolabels for Thunderwing this week. i think that'll help him look not so plain.

This.
I wasn't interested in Thunderwing at all, even though I'm way more familiar with him than with Sky Shadow.
But that new head... and those colors.. damn man. Had to have it.
YoungPrime
Yes a new head does make the difference. Speaking of which, I wonder when they’re going to reveal that Scourge repaint with what looked like Ratbat’s head. I’ll be pretty P.O.’d if they made it a botcon exclusive...
Starfire22
Someone needs to see if the knife that came with the FP add-ons for bruticus, will work with skyshadow!

I've got both, might look a bit big though. I'll give it a shot later.

the only way that would happen is if Hasbro has no intentions of releasing it at main stream retail. hopefully that doesn't happen, cuz that head did look cool... except I already have a Ratbat, i'd rather see that as another Japanese character, head kinda looks like Liokaiser, so who knows what we'll get
Predaking000
Anyone know if there's going to be a Takaratomy United release of this figure? Thanks.
Sol Fury
I've not heard anything. As far as I know the two new waves are it, intended to give Takara-Tomy something to release between DotM and the Prime launch in March.
LegendAntihero
I don't get why Sky Shadow's head joint is slanted so that when he turn his head to the side, he's also turning his face upside down.
