awesome i was wondering when he would turn up. it looks good, very dreamworks pat lee style jazz. cant wait to have it in hand!

I like Jazz. He looks like a fusion of G1 Jazz, Movie Jazz, and Cybertron Crosswise.

is it me or does the grill need to painted?

first pic I've seen of the rear end of the car. It looks more like a Porshe from that angle than I was expecting, though I still miss the old spoiler. The position of the new spoiler just doesn't look right to me at all.

Missing some chrome on those feet.

I'll have to slap some black paint on his collar and upper shins, but I can't get over how good this mold looks. Perfect update.

That is a sweet headsculpt.

Not just the grille, the whole rear end of the car, too! I guess all the paint-app money went to the stripes and silver shins. It could definitely benefit from some touch-ups or reprolabels. I wonder if the Henkei version will have a bit more painted detail?

Those angled feet, with the lateral rotation sculpted in, give him a nicely heroic wide stance. They might look a little odd in other kinds of poses, but who am I kidding? Most of my figures just stand planted in a line anyway.

Anyway, overall, despite the lack of paint I think he looks really nice. I like the car mode a lot, and the robot mode is spot-on; he's one of the most faithfully-G1 Classics figures there has been to date.

Why does Jazz look so pissed? He's normally smiling.

He's upset because his head is so small.

Anyway, Jazz seems to spend most of his time in the comics getting electrocuted, and the rest of it getting brainwashed or shot. I think a neutral facial expression is fine.

Looks great! Only quibbles would be lack of paint apps and the gap in front of his neck. Be interesting to see if the United version corrects any of the deco issues.

As good looking as this mold is, its gonna look awesome with all of takatomys extra paint app.

Still the best mold of the line, IMO. I'll shell out for the United version if it comes with a painted grille and hubcaps.

He looks pretty good. I had already planned on getting him, but that headsculpt really sells it for me.

Of course he has the speakers. You can see them folded up behind his doors.

Awesome looking head sculpt, and excellent looking figure all around. Love the expression on his face.

A minor thing, but I think Jazz should be smiling & not scowling like he is. Otherwise looking good overall.

I love Jazz, but the paint job on this toy is sub-par. They didn't even color the rims on the wheels or even the grill. And the fact that the area under his head is all white when he's in robot mode is just silly (why not paint it blue with a red line to match with the rest of his chest)?
I originally pre-ordered this figure, but the more images I saw of him, the more disappointed I got, and decided that it'll be worth it to shell out $20 more for the Takara version that's sure to have a better paint job.

Yeah, even Uni. 2.0 Prowl had more paint by a small margin.

This thing will get so reprolabeled.

People are complaining about this Jazz . just a few years ago we would have $hit our pants with this figure. This toy looks great!

Good point. The mold is fantastic and we are lucky to be getting this at all. That said, these pics do show a fairly bland paint job.

Agreed, Jamspeed... Hence my rant the other day... 2 years ago, Tracks, Jazz, and Wheel Jack were some of the highest requested wishlist figures... Now we get them and "its a huge miss" because the stripe doesnt reach his chin?. I laughed at a recent post that mentions this new Tracks' lack of "shear sexiness"... As if ANY of us though it had "sheer sexiness" when we were kids playing with toys. Thats an adult for ya... never satisfied.

I honestly think that the fact we were all waiting for a new Jazz figure makes this a whole lot worse. I mean, why bother with a figure if you're going to half ass it? And yes, Hasbro's paint job *was* half assed.
Honestly, my initial excitement over the new Tracks and Jazz figures (two of my top five Transformers of all time) died out due to lackluster paint jobs. I really hope Takara makes up for it.

Could've used some more paint, and the face is a bit grumpier-looking that I would've liked, but it's STILL a total winner, and bought so hard my wallet will make a crater in the cash register.

Yea, could use more paint. The United one will look better for those real picky and willing to pay 20+ more to import a figure. For me grabbing this jazz for 10-12$ locally will make me a very happy guy. Also we will see alot of customs on this one i'm sure, It's just funny to see the nerd rage sometimes.

There is some chance that Takara won't bother their arse to add any paint on the basis that it will sell just because it's Jazz.

I could really care less of what people are complaining about... We finally have Jazz and that's all that matters to me.

It very simple... I like it so I'm getting it and that's it!

About what I expected. Great sculpt, and the character is well worth the United upgrade as long as Takara delivers. That's one more of the Hasbro version for you guys!

I find that doubtful. TakTomy is definitely going to spruce him up for the better. Glad that I am waiting for the United release.

that mold looks as good as some of the best Generations/Classics/Henkei that have come out.
