We have received official images from Hasbro of the upcoming third assortment of Transformers Power Core Combiners. This all-redeco assortment consists of two packs Darkstream with Razorbeam, Steelshot with Beacon and Windburn with Darkray, and five packs Crankcase with Destrons and Stakeout with Protectobots. These redecos change things up a bit, though, by swapping the Mini-con partners – for example Windburn, the Searchlight redeco, comes with a redecoed Caliburst from the first wave’s Huffer, while the Destrons and the Protectobots each come with two of the previously released Aerialbots and Combaticons. These were previously shown off at Botcon 2010, however you can now check them out right here on TFW2005.
Also as an added bonus, we have sharper official images of the second assortment of Power Core Combiners. These official images show us a nice clear look at the two packs Leadfoot with Pinpoint, Sledge with Throttler and Icepick with Chainclaw along with the five pack sets of Double Clutch with Rallybots and Mudslinger with Destructicons. Check them all out by clicking on the title of this story.
Like what you see of the new toys? Sponsor Big Bad Toy Store has just listed preorders for a set of Power Core Combiners Wave 3 Two Packs and Wave 3 Five Packs. Check out all their new Transformers preorders here.

well, they are already re-doing Skyburst; I was hoping when they recolor they would mod the mold a bit ><

That would count as a remold though.

While I'm not a huge fan of the PCC's, it looks like there are at least a couple of them I'll be getting. Huffer is a must-have for me, and the Dinobot themed set interests me (can't wait to see what it looks like). The Destrons look pretty cool, and make for a nice homage to Menasor. Though I'm not a big fan of the jet-arm. Darkscream and Razorbeam look pretty cool too. Not sure if I'll get them, but they're definitely on my maybe list.

Maximo, I expressed that concern a couple of post before, but to add on to what is said, I agree with you.
It is my belief that Bombshock and Skyburst were designed and molded before minicons/2-pack interaction was determined.
I am hoping at least they would correct the mold later. I mean, Skyburst recolor should at LEAST get a chest peg hole >.>

not really a reply to you, but you brought it up –
I love me some PCCs. really i do. I gotta question some design choices though…
why do the 2pk'ers interact with 5pk'er drones, but the 5pk'ers don't interact with the 2pk'er minicons in terms of chest armor? The way i see it, each scout should feature a flip-out chest port, and the limb posts.
Now here you have Skyburst and Chopster coming together…
Skyburst can't hold Chopster, unless they change the fist hole size. As a kitbasher, i'll fill that hole in, and drill a new one with the right size. I shouldn't HAVE to though…
Skyburst also has no chest port. So there's no chest armor option.
If memory serves, the port on his back is so low that Chopster can't even swing his gun-arms up over skyburst's shoulders. So that option is lame at best.
So this four-mode minicon has a chest mode that is useless, can't be wielded without some mods…
wtf?
i mean, who'm i kidding, i haven't been this completist about a line in forever, and the color scheme looks great. but still…

Because they're not released yet!
And they had to repaint all five Commandos, all eight drones and all three Mini-Cons from the first for the third wave but add some variety in their pairings.
The Stunticons will most likely come about when they repaint Leadfoot into a Decepticon and give him two Rallybot drones and two Destructicon drones. I'd be suprised if they did another team.
Probably the very first one they designed. You can usually tell which one is designed first when it comes to new gimmicks because its not as good as the others.
exomega255
that would have worked better, but I usually think of "Axe" as a pretty heavy ground weapon, where if Jet-type transformers should have melee, it should be double daggers, or short swords, unless its a Bomber (heavy) jet.
I doubt any of the 3 initial Minicons fits well with Skyburst… Skyburst himself is just not as good a design compared to other torso scouts
payres
Chopster should have gone with the Searchlight repaint.

At least they made Backwind's cannon black this time on the recolor, so that's one positive thing I see.
I am very iffy about how Skyburst is recolored and comes with Chopster. First of all, that's the worse Minicon to go on the jet. Vehicle attachment mode makes it looks ridiciously "tall" for a jet. Then, Chopster's Axe mode cannot be used via Skyburst because the hand's pegholes are too small. Finally, Chopster's armor mode can attach to what? the back of Skyburst? its horrid. There is nothing good to say about this recolor-minicon combi.
It seems to me that Skyburst and Bombshock (even though Bombshock is the far more fun and better of the two initial leaders) was designed earlier than the rest of 2-packs and were not thought out as much. They don't have a chest peg for armor mode.
In my opinion, the design process went something like
"Hey lets make some scout sized transformers that can attached drones to be combiners!"
after designing Bombshock, Skyburst, and their drones.
"This can really sell better if we have more "torso" bots, we can create an entire scout line for this!"
"But lets make the scouts be a little bit more attractive…. so if they don't come with drones… maybe minicons?"
"lets make the minicon 4 modes transformation!"
Overall, it just seems like minicon is an "after thought" after Aerialbots and Combaticons were designed.

Confused about the limb choices… Hasbro isn't following the logic we would follow. They're following their own logic about repaints and 'refreshing' what's on the shelf. In that regard, it "makes sense": They're repainting figures from the first wave for the third wave while the Rallybots are from the second wave.
Bendimus Prime
Hmm, I like Crankcase and Stakeout leader repaints, but I'm really confused by the limb choices. IMO, Crankcase needs both arms and the right leg from the Rallybots (he could keep the jeep leg) all painted like G1 Stunticons, and Stakeout needs the Rallybot's left leg to replace the jet, and paint them like G1 Protectobots (the tank arm could be a futuristic fire truck, and the APC leg a SWAT vehicle).
Wheeljack_Prime
These repaints are ALL awful! I'll be going with the original decos of Skyburst, Bombshock, Searchlight, Smolder, and Huffer, thank you very much
TCracker
After scrutinizing the pics further, I think Leadfoot looks good. Probably I will need to get another set of the drones (be it Combticons or Aerialbots).
The thing i like about the PCCs are they can be configured (the core body at least) any way to make them look dynamic. Forget the instructions, they are absolutely crap. use your imagination and they might look good to some extent.
tomahawk2012
Stupid repaints
Da_Razorsaw
Cuz he's not Menasor.
Bort826TFWorld
Yep it makes no sense why couldn't of had mixed Rallybots and Destructicon parts for the ass-backwards Menasor.
Kaymac
I haven't been paying much attention to Powercore, but these look okay. Might pick up a few of the repaints one day.
koh4711
I'm gonna have to get two of Sledge. That way, I can repaint one into Cutup or Sawtooth from the Starriors.
Prowl4680
Wooo….Repaints ahoy!
