Our friends and sponsors over at Robot Kingdom have posted some in-hand packaging images of the (now in-stock on their site but otherwise) upcoming Generations 2014 Deluxe Wave 2 on their Facebook page.
This wave contains Generations releases of Armada Starscream, Fall of Cybertron Skywarp (A redeco of the prior FoC Starscream and Thundercracker), Scoop and his two Targetmasters Caliburst and Holepunch, and the Minicon Assault Team (Whose names are confirmed to be Heavytread, Runway, and Windshear in their individual forms, and also go by the name Centuritron in their combined form.)

Love the color purple and black, just wish he had less gray and more black.

Yggdrasil
It was coloured in his first apparance but later on it was uncoloured.
But that's the least of the problem considering how tanks to Rojo's complete lack of talent for drawing robotsthe head looks nothing like the toy/Armada Starscream so there's not point in really complaining for the colour of the chinstrap.
BWfan86
Is the chinstrap uncolored in the comics as well?

Uh, when I buy a figure, I shouldnt have to touch up/ modify it to look decent.
Lumpy
ha! best response in this entire thread.

Starscream and Scoop are the ones I want. Scoop could've been done a little better in my opinion

Mate this is why more and more people need to start learning how to paint. For a long time Hasbro has been lacking bad in the painting department. Heck I remember the days when we were getting chrome on our figures. Nowadays we're lucky if the rims are even painted.

Regardless of how Starscream is colored in the current comics, the Armada toy deco from 2002 is better to me. That's the paint scheme I would've preferred. The current one is bland, coupled with that cheap looking red plastic it's molded in. I will still buy it but I might have to give the TakaraTomy one a second look. I like the added landing gear a LOT, I wasn't expecting them.
The comparison pictures show that the original mold/sculpt was fine, it was just cut short of awesomeness due to lack of full articulation. I've always loved a good deal of Armada designs, since 02 I've been wanting to see fully articulated versions of Armada characters. This new Starscream is cool but could look significantly better if colored like the 2002 Armada version.

Just get yourself some Testors Model Masters Black Gloss Acrylic (or whatever paint brand you're most accustomed too), wash the figure down with warm water and dish soap, and when you finish painting, eventually you'll have an Armada Starscream that will even outshine the upcoming Takara version.
Valkysas
Black sharpie is actually dark purple.
Use real paint (even a real paint marker) if you actually want it perfect.

The comics are colored like the toy. He is only in the comics to sell the toy. Apparently Armada is not popular enough to sell the design on its own so now it is retconned as a G1 design.
CelticMutt
I hesitate to point this out, but Hasbro's Starscream is colored like he is in the comics. Now, the toy colors came first of course, but since this is the IDW Starscream as much as it is Armada Starscream, he's hardly inaccurate.
PoweredConvoy
Yeah the cartoon version had more red than the toy, but still the Hasbro version is way too red. The Takara one fixes that but still has more red than the original as it stays true to the cartoon.

This is the most perfect represetnatin of why I think there's too much red.
Compare the torso of the new with the torso of the old. Only the cockpit part was red the rest was black with a dash of white. It makes the figure look MUCH better and pop out more than just plain RED ALL OVER we get for the new one.
I'm not a size queen and I still really like the mold but I'll be getting the Takara one and a black sharpie to make it perfect.

Starscream's rocket boosters not being able to collapse perfectly really annoys me.
Centuritron really looks amazing. Finally a decent Mini-con combiner. *looks at Energon Perceptor* ugh!

Deluxe seriously?
That thing might as well be legends cyberverse class next to the real Armada Starscream.
