The release of the 1st wave of Transformers Generations IDW deluxes might not be too far off. To wet your appetite, check out new images of a loose color sample of Orion Pax from eBay seller lena81822! This is likely a final production piece.
Some of these shots were taken up close, so read on to check out some detailed images!

Not bad at all.
Jalaguy
It's taken from the original Pax design from Spotlight: Blurr. On the original model, though, it's actually the underside of a pseudo-Combat Deck drone, rather than just a flap.
jackgaughan
I really like the look of him, something about him just pops, hopefully I get him and Trailbreaker soon.
Anti Spark
I said the same thing.
Until I saw the video review on him. Its not as bad as I thought.
AMG
I want one.
Fallout
are we still getting complaints about hollow parts? do you guys just want it to not transform or…

Hopefully a 3rd party makes a traditional prime head for this…
Valkysas
It's been there since the original comic design.

Thing is that this is a deluxe. I don't think they have TOO many figures that have compartment covers for flip out hands below the Voyager size class. My Classics Hound has hollow forearms so does Cyclonus,, the Classics Seeker molds do as well, hell, even expensive 3rd Party figures like some of the Hercules members or the Maketoys Giant have hollow forearms and those are way more expensive than this figure will be. Sure we get a few shining examples that are the exception for a deluxe that features hands that store inside the forearm but not a ton.
In the end this looks pretty darn slick to me. I'll get him for sure…maybe two just for an extra gun, lol.
PrimusVsUnicron
we need pics of this figure next to Classics Voyager Prime
Alteron_Sheng
Since I'm only planning on getting him to turn him into my Dion I'm still probably gonna grab this version^^
neeno
they didn't make the compartment covers to save cost, that is obvious. how many molds must be made and man hour to assemble if they make covers.
it is shown in recent figures. they simplified the transformations and numbers of parts.
well, i like this figure and prefer him than takara version just to match my other optimus, besides he's cheaper too
Tytus
I don't know why people are complaining, I quite like this figure. And I've been passing a lot on recent figures. Takara version might be colored better, but you're also paying a premium for that. Doesn't make this version BAD though.
He looks like he will match up with WFC Optimus (One of my favorites) very well. They seem to be styled pretty similarly. And if Orion Pax is following the recent Deluxe downsizing, his size will as well. And guess what, they both even have the same hollow forearms!
Timothy.R
they can always make compartment covers.. like MP soundwaves hands.
there are toys out there that have hollow areas that are properly covered up.. that's probably why, these days, people expect things like that.
Mizzinno
My only complaint is that the legs appear to be molded blue, which mean I'll have to match the red… Either way: Helloooooo Generations E Rodimus.
Cal
Looks good enough for me! I'll definitely have to pick up one.
jestermon
Looks great to me that must be some great paint if there are no sculpted details on the body at all, and I don't know or understand how people expect things to transform without hollow spaces?
If you flip a foot or hand out of a piece the space it formerly occupied will be hollow or if you want to make somehting slide forward into a space the space has to be hollow then where that piece moved from will be hollow.
Ra88
I like it. Feels like a Classics version of Animated Cybertronian OP in a way, and I love that figure. Might get it, though I have no idea where it will even fit in my collection.
megatroptimus
Another like that one got auctionned a few weeks ago.
