Yeah, any arguing over whether this is 'better' than the Henkei version is absolutely pointless. They're both different. It's not better and it's not worse. Honestly, depends on what version of Red you really want... Want a G1 toy accurate version? Then the Generations release is for you. Prefer your paint schemes to be show accurate? Then the Henkei release is what you're looking for. The only thing I have negative to say about Generations Red Alert is that, while I like the design of the new light-bar, I'm not a fan of the apparent choice to make it in solid plastic. That said, it certainly wouldn't be a deal breaker for me if I didn't already have the Henkei version.
Honestly, I'll be glad just to have one. Henkei RA was a bit more expensive and harder to get for me, whereas this one I can [hopefully] get at retail for the deluxe price point. ![]()
Man, along with Thrust, I am just so very relieved we are getting this. The prices for pretty much any Henkeis nowadays are spiralling out of control and I'd just about given up hope of owning RA, Thrust or the store exclusive seekers. So now I'm just waiting for future waves when we can get our hands on Thundercracker and Skywarp and surely Dirge must also be in the pipeline?
Dirge seems to be a no-brainer. Skywarp, however, was a Target exclusive here with Ultra Magnus, and will probably not get another release. People on the board have said that Thundercracker won't be done because of the difficulty of getting the paint job to be different from Botcon Thundercracker. Personally, I think that is asinine and I think that a nice G1 style Thundercracker will be on our way before the end of the Generations line. That being said, I'm more curious if there's a Grapple in our future. I'm not gonna hold my breath on Artfire, though.
