Toy Fair 2014 is over, but we still have a little more for ya. At the show we try to get the pics up to you as quick as possible so we can talk about the stuff in real time. That means we don't get to mull through our photos and pick out the best, give them a little extra processing love. So, today we present Toy Fair 2014 Redux - Transformers Edition. Attached to this story you will find some of the best shots we took. There is no rhyme or reason, and this post doesn't fully cover all the important things seen at Toy Fair. Just a selection of good photos based on how the shot came out (for the most part). Read on to check the pics. Enjoy!

BWTF has posted an interview with Hasbro's Transformers brand team members Jerry Jivoin and Joshua Lamb. In this interview they talk about a few key points, including the whole current trend of simplifying some Transformers toys while aiming others squarely at collectors - the key driver behind this was Josh Lamb driving the question of "will the toys be fun for five year olds to play with", and as Jerry Jivoin points out, previous efforts at finding a solution to please everyone, pleased nobody.
The interview also talks about the process of bringing the Dinobots into the live action movie universe, and reveals the brand team's approach to homages - they do not want to remake the original Transformers of 30 years ago, but give everything a fresh, new approach. This covers not only the Movie continuity, but also the Generations toys.
Lastly, good news for those concerned about getting Swerve, Tailgate et al - the assortments may have been underordered by retailers which is why you're not seeing them at retail, but what Hasbro is doing in an effort to get them out there is adjusting the case assortments to make sure they are in future assortments when those later assortments arrive at retail. A similar solution is being looked at for the last Beast Hunters releases - those may eventually see a release as store exclusives (though our UK readers may wish to note, these upscaled Cyberverse Voyagers are now appearing in Tescos stores)

We go fast and hard at Toy Fair - in the last 3 days across the 4 sites, we posted 125 stories on over 50 different companies. Within those 125 stories, we've uploaded and shared over 5,000 images. Close to real time, high resolution images, straight from the show. That can be a little much to take in if you are just popping in today back at work or school. So, check out the links below for all the sites and catch up on the brands you like. We will have a couple more posts this week related to Toy Fair, some things we missed and some highlight posts. But this is the raw uncut plastic crack for the next year. Enjoy.

More photos from our team at Toy Fair 2014 for you. We have some images of the many various licensed Transformers items that Tech4kids are making. These include things like slingshots and mashable figures with disturbingly large heads, to a nice Bumblebee Light Guardian that in style resembles the Unleashed figure from the 2007 Movie. There are also some Bumblebee themed "Hulk Hands" in the works by Tech4kids, amongst other items.
Check out all the images attached to this post, which includes a look at some nice promotional artwork of the new forms of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee as well.

Don’t forget, this weekend is New York Toy Fair 2014. Check back throughout the weekend and into next week as we cover the event live, as we do every year. We’ll have thousands of new photos, news, and other live coverage straight from the show floor. Coverage begins on Saturday afternoon and will go through Monday, with a few things potentially hitting after that.
Our crew at Toy Fair will be providing news for our entire network! So if you want to keep up with the latest Marvel, DC, Star Wars, MOTU and Action Figure News visit Toyark, for G.I. Joe News visit HissTank, and Toku Nation will be covering all things Tokusatsu / Power Rangers related. If any Thundercats News happens to hit, we’ll have it over at Thundercats.ws.
As always, it takes time to cover an event of this size. There are hundreds and hundreds of companies setting up at Toy Fair, and this year looks to be one of their biggest. We’ll get to everything as quickly as we can. So be sure to keep checking back all weekend. It should be a blast!

The excitement from Toy Fair 2013 continues! A careful ear from board member Scaleface catches a discussion between an attendee and a Hasbro representative from a Toy Fair 2013 video (linked below) discussing the possibilities of the recently-announced (and now, highly anticipated) Generations Metroplex. During this discussion (around the 4:45 mark), one such possibility is Metroplex redecoed into - Metrotitan!
EDIT: You can view the embedded version here (and thanks to fellow board member opoptimus for the assist there!):
For those of you unfamiliar with Metrotitan, if you click the resource link in the previous statement, you will discover that Metrotitan is a Japanense exclusive deco of G1 Metroplex as a Destron (Decepticon) from the Japanese series Transformers: Zone. Hasbro certainly has created modern toys with obscure references, such as Generations Sky Shadow. That coupled with the obvious necessity for such a large toy as Generations Metroplex (!) to have a good redeco in order for Hasbro to recoup some of the mold costs as well as the referenced discussion of this news bit, certainly makes this a possibility!
Now, while all of this certainly seems like a very possible reality, we are still posting this as a "rumor", as this is not an "official" confirmation of Metrotitan actually being produced, so take this with a grain of salt, so to speak.
By all means, join in on the discussion already taking place by clicking the link below. Also, certainly feel free to check out our coverage of Toy Fair 2013!

Toy Fair 2013 has come and gone for us here at TFW2005.com, and boy was it crazy. We do our best to get the info and images up to you quickly, and for the most part, that doesn't allow us to curate, refine and enhance the pictures we take. We just want to get em all to you quick, and let you sort them out while the show is in full swing.
That being said, we've started to go through our image sets from the weekend, are picking out the best ones and giving them a little extra love. Attached to the story are some of the hottest shots from the show. Not necessarily the hottest as in new & never seen - just some good looking pictures in their own right. To see them all - read on!
