New Images of Titanium 25th Anniversary War Within Optimus Prime P1100045
Some new images have been posted over at HK-TF.com of the upcoming Target Exclusive Titanium Optimus Prime. This repaint of the original War Within Optimus Prime is redone with a richer red and a lot more blue in his deco, to better reflect the colors that Optimus sports in the live action movie series. Check out the images by clicking on the link above or view our mirror by clicking on the title of this story.

Heat Guy:
That is a pretty cool looking repaint.
Bgrngod:
I'm digging the extra use of blues on the shoulders and stuff.
Dinobot Nuva:
Looks better than that last picture at least. Totally picking this up.
0ptimus__Prime:
Looks cool, Most likely will pick this up.
Ravenxl7:
Looks good. I might get him, I might not. Thrust is probably the only one I'll put any effort into finding. Optimus Prime and Hot Zone, if I get them, will be in-store decisions, and not the specific reason for me being at Target that day.
LightningZERO:
Not bad, I guess
Overhaulimus:
Yep he's mine.
WhiteMocha:
That looks really nice. It's a shame the joints on this figure are so awful.... but this deco looks good enough that I'll pick him up regardless.
SPLIT LIP:
This is supposed to be painted like the movie? Where's the flames?
Deceptichage:
They probably didn't fix the issues with the loose shoulders and stuff that plagues this mold, but I'll probably get it just for the shiny repaint.
Takara_destron:
Its a cool repaint, and I love the WWI design. But this is still a lackluster figure and I have the original, so pass.
Backscatter:
Nice redco, will get.
Cyber-Scream:
Really really really wants..............
PyroniusRex:
I'm hoping to exchange some of the parts, hopefully the parts I'm thinking of aren't die-cast.
Tman978:
ew, that's so G2
PyroniusRex:
What's with the new head mold?
Dolza_Khyron:
you know so me how, this mold looks MUCH better in movie prime colors...
Solrac333:
I think I will buy it.
Brawlastator:
Only if they fixed the problems.

Word.

A straight repaint with none of the issues corrected = waste of time and not worth the $15-$20 they will be asking.
Omega Supreme-1:
I think that it's an interesting use of the mold, though it's already received a Magnus paint scheme. I personally don't have a need for this mold, though if it ends up clearance I may purchase him for the right price. I'm strongly interested in Thrust, and Hot Zone though. Thus, i'll likely purchase those two right out of the gate.

I'm sure that someone out there is looking forward to this repaint, since it'll probably be their first exposure to it. All Titanium figures had faults of some kind, including the last molds released (Prowl and Grimlock). It's just a matter of how much you are willing to overlook those flaws, and how much the characters appeal to you.
StarFire_MK2:
I might get this, but I'll wait for some non-backlit pics so I can see the details before I decide.

Oh, I dunno. I'm kinda glad to see this coming back. I passed it up the first time and have kinda regretted it.

Well Shocky and Sunny are justified because you save like 2.50 then buying the two molds separately. I can't imagine these Titaniums to go over 20
Ktulu:
30 smackers for this floppy bastard? Meh, I wouldn't even buy it for the original Titanium price

That's a terrible guess then. And some pretty kindergarten logic.

Shockwave and Sunstorm came with Activators too. Activators and Voyagers retail at $20ish and $8ish respectively. The fact that they were being marketed at $25.99 meant you SAVED money, rather than buying a voyager and activator separately.

Seriously, how does $29.99 even make sense?

And to the people that believed this the moment they read it...REALLY?

how is this a wacked out guess? The TRU's around here ran the WWI grimlock and prowl for $24.99 when they were sold....and with the economy and price increase....TRU is getting $29.99 for countdown and darkwing....

Like i said i am guessing...but it is a educated guess since prices have been climbing up....
Liokaiser:
Love it.
SAF7:
Since I have no Titaniums, and I want to be able to say that I have at least one, I may pick this up. I'll have to see more pictures of the others before I come to a decision, though.

Target isn't TRU, they don't do markups like that. The Grimmy/Prowl wave was a limited run anyway, driving the price up on those regardless. And up until Universe 2.0, all Ultras were MSRPed at about $30 everywhere.
Dinobot Nuva:
Edit- dp

AHHHHHHHH! I love you man.
The Crazy Collector:
I'll get it cause I can't pass up a Prime, but I like the original paint scheme over the new one. Too much blue on the repaint in my opinion.
The_Black_Sheep:
Hasbro - We don't care for these repaints. Whatever happened to the Arcee, Cosmos, Shockwave, WW Bumblebee/Cliffjumper etc. you had in the works? It couldn't be that much of a stretch to put those moulds into production? Could it?

The molds were never produced, they got as far as Hard Copies, grey clay sculpts. Which makes it impossible for Hasbro to release them without spending a bunch of money on making new molds.
Kaijumaster:
Wow...I doubt I'll pick this up, but really that is a very classy re-deco.

Well, basics went up from $10 to $13. Other things went up as well. So, it's easy to believe.
BigRC83:
Looks okay. But a pass.
nsr46gamer:
hm.........shiny. might pick this one up.
BurnZ:
I like the colour layout, just wish it wasn't so glossy. The matte finish on the original is nice.

Also wish the photos had better lighting.
dark69:
i like this one hes cool

Wait, what? Basics were $10?! Damn....I missed that totally. Last time I saw Basic prices, they were $6-$8.

Basics don't exist anymore. Activators are currently in the $7-8 and Movie Scouts will probably follow suit. DELUXES went up from $10 to $13, but have been dropping at various stores due to spring sales.
bellpeppers:
Oops. Yeah, deluxes, not basics. Yet in my area, they haven't been coming back down.
Digilaut:
Always a good idea to take pictures of toys when they are in SHADOWS....sigh. Still not able to see a good comparison between the two now..although I think I prefer the original altmode colorwise.

Doubt I'd pick it up though. I have Titanium Rodimus, he's pretty cool but not something I'd buy again.
starscream1701:
That is a little too pleasing.
