The Generations figures are no longer Asian exclusives.

Sorry but I refuse to buy and support from scalper-like business with ridiculous mark-ups!
DrGrim
I'd definitely buy that Springer if he were on the shelf at my local toy store with a normal deluxe price tag.
MetalicGrunt
Damn, I can go on Ebay of all places and get some of these figures shipped for what they are charging just for the figs

Wheelie is reasonably priced. On ebay he is going for $48-$55 shipped.

Just bought one for $34 shipped!

^ Why not have patience and get them off the peg for $15-?

The packaging is a Variant Packaging. The USA versions have Chinese Writing on them and are packed in Vehicle mode. I will buy both and open the USA versions when they drop later this year.

Because you have even the slightest clue what toy arena paid for these right?

How DARE a business try to make any money. I wonder how you would feel knowing what big box retailers pay for toys... Talk about "scalping"

Some people enjoy being able to get their stuff earlier than most, and are willing to pay extra for it. Welcome to the wide a varied world of tf collecting.

Have you looked at any of the financial statements of the big box retailers?

I have and I can tell you their margins are lower than you're implying. They run a low margin-high volume business.

He'll be at TRU later on in the fall.

The packaging variant is exclusive. We get some FUGLY packaging with Asian Characters for no good reason!

Yes! Hearts of Steel Shockwave! TA stocks all the stuff I love.

Shit is so funny. For the "priviledge" of owning these a tad earlier, you get to spend twice what I'm gonna pay when I go into TRU in a couple months and get those Generations figs. How people can support this kind of thing is beyond me, site sponsor or not.

If TRU carried everything they were suppossed to, we would all have MP Grimlock at the $60 asking price...Not the $150-$200 that they sell for now. You can never count on TRU to stock anything (except Bumblebees). Get them where and when you can and avoid the even higher mark-up later. Good luck to all of us with MP Thundercracker and Prime.

wow so everyone saying they are against scalping sells everything for what they paid for them eh?

Wow this board is great!

Funny that every classified ad on here is the same as ebay in terms of pricing

They are a business and you dont have to buy it

These MAY hit shelves but just like vehicon they may not be easy to find

I used to have a TRU within walking distance. Now I have to make a hour round trip just to come up empty handed.

Considering we do not know the retail cost at TRU or how many figures they are even getting in or when I would not chance it.

Plus considering I would of dropped $15 on gas just to run out to TRU I think I got a good deal and saved alot of headaches and frustration finding nothing each time.

I agree, to an extent. However, when you align your business with the collector community, I.E. sponsoring a collector's message board, there is an inherent expectation that said business at least gives the APPEARANCE of having concern for the fans and their budgets. And this particular store has an extreme stigma due to their purchasing quantity of Botcon exclusives this year; denying some collectors who attended the show the opportunity to buy then at convention prices. So advertising exclusives that will be available at TRU in the fall for a 50-100% mark-up only fuels the flames.

I think it comes down to choice. I have people on here who treat me the same way because I ran a Amazon store at one point. You either pay retail or you pay the markup but the choice is the customers.

The locals here in my area treat me like I am some kind of Pariah and I have done nothing wrong.

I offer people in my area items at cost and they ignore my PM's because they assume I am a scalper. They even go as far to attack me openly in the sightings threads.

To be honest with more then half the members on this board are scalpers and call the kettle black.

Asking ebay prices when they can offer items at a 20 percent markdown due to no ebay fees on the forum.

That is just the way it goes I guess.

Don't get all the complaining here. As far as I know these particular figures are the ones offered in Asia only. Takara figures go for $30 so this seems to be normal pricing. Sure we are getting, hopefully, a US release of these guys but and those will be available in different packaging. It would be more realistic to complain if this company got the EXACT US versions of these and charged what they were charging.

Personally if I was a MISB collector I'd pay the extra to have them packaged like these are, in bot mode, as a opposed to the US alt mode packaging.

That is how I feel. I will open the TRU ones if I happen to find them.

Technically, they are Hasbro Asia releases, not Takara.

If you really don't understand, hit me up via PM and I'll do my best to explain it.

I agree with you. The US release is "limited", which of course means a few stores will get all of the figures and most stores will never see these for sale, just like MP-09 Rodimus. I have three TRUs near me and only one of them ever got Rodimus Prime. The US releases will sell for $30 or more on Ebay once California and NY get them.

What I worry about now more then anything is the Voyagers. They will be even more limited then the Deluxes. And since Brawn is not coming over Stateside he will be highly sought after when released in Asia.

I guess I'm lucky insofar as my local TRU gets stuff in on a regular basis. Just today I got Shockwave for FOC, and I'm sure they'll at least get the Asiarations in when they come out. I know I'll have to be on the spot to beat the local scalpers to the store, but it's better than 2x or 3x retail compared to sitting in my car for an hour or two after work.
