Our sponsors TFSource have sent us news of a Holiday season 2012 exclusive from FansProject. At TFcon 2012 we got a look at a Deluxe Insecticon themed set of recolors for their Insecticons - we can now confirm that this will be an exclusive limited edition set similar to the previous extremely popular Shadow Scyther set, and like the Shadow Scyther these too will be carried by TFSource. The Deluxe Insecticon recolors will be collectively known as the "Armored Battalion" and will be sold as a set of three with exclusive giftset packaging for $159.99. This is going to be a single-run only item - but good news, there is a limit of 2 per customer at TFSource meaning that this set can find its way to the maximum number of fans.

FP-DX Armored Battalion - Set of 3 - Limited Edition Holiday Exclusive

A limited edition in the same vein as the Shadow Scyther, this is how FP are releasing the Deluxe Insecticons we saw at TFcon. Asking price is $159.99 which works out at a little over $50 each.

Yep, already pre-ordered, not really a fan of it being exclusive to TFSource, but oh well. I think regular FP Insecticons were $48 a piece at bbts so not too bad.

You can pay now or when it's released. I usually preorder right away and pay the tab on payday. Just email them and ask for an invoice when you want to pay.

Seeing these made the original FP Insecticons make sense, I always wondered why they wandered so much from the source, and now I know! These rock, and suit the molds perfectly.
I really will need a Venom figure as well though

That'd be nice, but I'm not holding my breath. I'll probably just end up giving these guys new weapons and giving their guns to the original Insecticons.

Same molds but some remolded stuff so that they transform into Cybertronian type vehicles instead of insects.

I'm surprised these are a limited run exclusive.

Having none of the originals, I can't be 100% positive- but it looks to me like they've done a significant amount of remolding parts here. I could be wrong though.

I'm mildly tempted.
