I'm happy to see someone else (Being Aaron) had generally the same reaction as I did to the New, bad, dirty Touch.
It was nice to hear some people actually discuss the pros and cons of it, rather then just nerd rage over it.
I'd agree with the idea that it was probably the video that ruined it for some, but you also have to remember we're in a fandom that has people in it who are angry that movie Sideswipe isn't a red ferrari.
The mere concept alone was probably enough to throw some fans into a big pool of haterade.

One of the few things I learned working in and around guest relations is that any advance notice prior to the contract being signed can kill the deal. I'm not sure why that is exactly, but I've heard instances where a given guest cancelled due to leaks.
So it can come down to: Adding them at the last minute or not having them at all.
RE: Stan Bush's new touch
Listened to it without watching the video, which in retrospect was probably a good idea. The falsetto doesn't work, other than that it's passable. You have to understand though: I saw Marc Walhberg try to sing the original song in Boogie Nights. After seeing that anything Stan can come up with doesn't really compare.
