Oh man, I knew this was gonna be a thing after Gog's pics on Twitter.

Not that it's a bad thing!
ORIO
Excellent

Noriko! Hard work and guts, Gunbuster!

all of those other cartoons i have watched. the pale in comparison to transformers prime. fanboy and chum chum is stupid , it sucks and i thought it did so bad it got cancelled. i'm suprised mlp wasn't nominated.

Thank god I'll have this to listen to tomorrow at work. The day is going to suck compiling a massive spreadsheet, this will make it better.

Thank you!
Ryoku
Prepare to cry a little.

The last story I read with him was actually decent but that was years ago.

can't wait to listen to that listener question!

ps. Aaron is not actually a jerk, i just wanted to have something mean in for both podcast teams

looking forward to seeing you all again next year at botcon (if you go and if i can make it, cause damnit, i had so much fun this year i HAVE to try my best to make it back)
TrueNomadSkies
Chop Cut Rebuild is pretty cool (it's a car build/restoration show), but I weep almost daily at the fact that TLC airs stuff like Toddlers in Tiaras instead of Junkyard Wars.
anemis
almost a 4 hours podcast holy crap !!! O.O
Valkysas
For the gutto-kuru question, I'd want them to do Sari in battle mode. She's never had an official toy (or even a decent third party one), and I think this would be the best way for that to happen.
megus
really enjoyed the episode

by the way not sure if anyone thought of this before, but I did find a weapon mode for prime laserbeak, place him on soundwave's hand and flip the wings down, giving soundwave a wolverine like claw

here's a pic ( sorry for poor quality using webcam )

Glad I'm not the onlywho thought of that.

PRID Soundwave: the toy of a thousand fanmodes. (He even makes a decent yet thin combiner leg with the right parts shifting/modding)

Really enjoyed this episode. The third party maturation discussion was a necessary debate that needed to have light shed on it. I'm looking forward to watching how it all plays out as well and hope that projects such as don figueroas armorauders and fansprojects heartmaster warbot pave the way for more original ideas and designs. Eagerly awaiting both.
TrueNomadSkies
Well see, I think much of it has to do with how our minds work. We like Transformers, so we're willing to spend money on transformers more easily than we are on other things. Yeah, we also make impulse buys from time to time, sometimes on things we barely know about & as such tend to overpay when we see em in person especially. I've got a couple of figures that I'd probably have to google to tell you more than what they look like, and knowing where I got em & that I did no research, I might've been able to get them cheaper, even with shipping.

However for things like the Fansproject insect bots or the Cyclopes thing, they're pricy enough to make us think twice, even when they are tied to our fandom in some way. That's where I think Vange1us' point about looking at why we're buying this shit comes into play, as our minds will likely be much more ok with paying higher dollar amounts for 3rd party items if we're buying them as cool collectibles, not simply because they're cool transformers.
ORIO
Enjoyed the discussion on Steelcore. I think you can equate Fansproject to Pantera.

Pantera started playing cover songs. When they gathered a good following they started mixing their own originals. Recipe for success? I think so.
Ursa Magnus
Thanks for answering my voicemail, gentlemen. And yes, that is my actual voice.

And I never realized how badly whatever you're using to translate the voicemails into text garbles it. Yikes.
Silent_Magnus
I'm actually more interested in Steel Core because he's a, mostly, original design.

I was one of those people that was ok with Fansproject when they were just doing add on stuff, but started having mixed feelings when they moved on to whole figures.
This is a great thing in my eyes.
StayingInTheBox
You guys nailed it on the head with the discussion of 3rd party companies creating original stuff. I would love to see an original figure/character backed with it's own fiction. I'm hoping Steelcore is indeed an original character.
Bountyan
Personally I mostly only buy third party stuff to fill in characters for my Classics collection. It's cool if they have new traits (ninja Insecticons and PE Arcee being a sniping sword wielding motorcycle bot) and I enjoy 3rd party fiction, but if it's something I don't recognize, I'm just going to say "that's nice" but keep my money in my wallet. 3rd party toys are too expensive for me to buy stuff I don't connect to.

Added D-Style Griffon to my PoL on my lunch break.

Trust in The Gog.

yay, more podcast action! i'm still working on getting caught up on pre-Botcon episodes, but am keeping up with the new episodes coming out too, so that things make more sense...

And no sooner that I finish this ep, that NECA announces the 2-player Portal Gun (P-Body Version - Red and Orange).

...aaaaaand it's already sold out at most places. Damn.

Well... there's always Atlas?

Unfortunately, while I really love Portal, I can't justify the price/effort to get the Portal Gun. Now if they made the Gravity Gun from Half-Life 2...

What I wanna know is: why the hell is Prime stuck in the Daytime Emmys? It airs at like, 7PM, right?

Well in PST it airs at 5:30pm, so it could be eligible.

Great episode guys!

Gogdog: Where is this crazy toy shop in orlando? Sounds like a place to visit
CookSux
I'll take 50 bucks and forward the message to the guys if you're interested.

No guarantees on success...

Speaking of Botcon, I decided to take this photo because GogDog was my influence in getting this:

So worth the $40 I spent on the set, probably one of my favorite purchases from Botcon, now Luka has her own gang of pets

Don't get your hopes up. They only take big-name moderators or Australians in the show. Your chance of getting on is as high as my chance.

Also, something tells me Fanboy and Chum Chum won't fair well against Prime.

So, I was reading some stuff on TV Tropes and somehow stumbled across this...I'll just leave this here.

A lot of the big-time revierer-types seem to have at least a main page on Tv Tropes. Seems to be a measuring stick for internet fame.

As an addition to the Fansproject discussion, what do you guys think of this?

As for the evolution of 3rd party I just can't see it happening. When I spend, I am buying a character. I don't care who makes it. Hasbro, FansProject, TFC, its all the same to me. Creating a fiction that hooks me in is going to be a lot harder than a few pages of comic with each toy.

To compound that there is the age problem. I feel like a lot of what I like is locked in from my childhood. I just don't know if I am capable of forming the kind of deep attachment to a new fiction that is enough to make me spend money on it. TF is already locked in.
Agent Adam
Is there really someone on here named Adam Smasher?

Seth, I was the one who sold you the Bot Shots.
