Yay! One night after I finished 194!
Gojira Prime
I finish watching an episodes of Megas XLR, check Twitter, and what do I see in my feed?

So far, my 420 is going far better than I'm sure my stoner friends' will.
Chykin
My god... That description. Haven't listened yet. Ganbatte, hoero, Banji-kun-tachi! Ikouze!! Raijin!
ORIO
Excellent. Will listen to tomorrow!

Enjoyed the Star Wars Vintage talk.

Vangelus, I highly recommend you look into getting this Vintage figure:
Rebelscum.com: The Vintage Collection Photo Archive

This picture is probably of most interest to you:
Rebelscum.com; Star Wars Toy News Archive
hupla
Ahahahaha so thats why you wanted to know if I ordered the Canadian version XD

speaking of the vintage star wars figures, i recommend this one, the badass that is Captain fordo!

though on his card his name is "ARC Trooper Commander" he is fordo from the first clonewars cartoon

Oh man, that Kiss Players question
excelhedge
Jeez that how Kissplayer segment I had to just Stop and Walk away for 30 Mins before starting listening again!

The Stuff you guys come up with....

That imagery won't leave my head for awhile, Thanks Guys for the Nightmares tonight!!

I'm a watch man myself. I tend to stick with Fossil. I know, I'm cheap. I just like the look of wearing a decent watch.
TCJJ
I like watches too. No particular brand, though. When I need a new one, I go to the jeweler and pick out a nice one that isn't too pricey but not too cheap.

I honestly would love to hear about Kiss Players every episode. I think it's hilarious. The intermission was fantastic as well.

I still like hearing the off-topic stuff (although when I see it's an hour long, I tend to cringe, not because it's too long - it's not - but I wish there was also another hour of crazy (and often off-topic, if possible) discussion. The 3-4 hour episodes are always great too, although this one was still very good (as always).

Regarding The 12th Prime's first question: really going to have to say Sideswipe/Sunstreaker mold completionism will be the most expensive, especially due to the G2 Sideswipe BotCon custom class toy.
Girl Pants
Oh you guys are not hating on BROtarians, are you?

Count me in as that one dude who wanted to play as them. Hell, I wanted a Batarian squadmate.
Pete@BotCon
We had nothing to do with the AA comic issue... Would have no impact on us either way.

Thanks.

Pete listens to the podcast? That's actually pretty cool.
Silent_Magnus
Who are the fishmen Seth mentions supposed to be?
Only fish like things in Mass Effect I can think of are the Varren.

edit: Oh, the Drell. I was thinking maybe he was talking about Salarians.
Why wouldn't you want to be a Drell? I'm more of a Quarian/Geth guy myself, but Drell are pretty badass.

Not completely on-topic to this podcast, but I thought it might be of interest to Seth and Vangelus (as well as any other fans of Lupin III and/or REDLINE):
There's a new Lupin III series airing now in Japan called Lupin the Third: Mine Fujiko to Iu Onna (A Woman Called Fujiko Mine).

It takes place earlier in the career of Fujiko as she is just meeting Lupin, Jigen, and Goemon for the first time. My understanding is that the character designs are done by the same designer for REDLINE, so there is still a retro feel, but in a different way than how Lupin has looked in the past. It's more stylish and angular, and there are interesting shadow lines that kind of give a chiaroscuro woodblock effect. The series is also more serious and noir in tone than Lupin traditionally is. Fujiko comes off as more of a traditional femme fatale. Plus, it helps that her new VA sounds pretty sexy. And Lupin has the green jacket again!

Also, Fujiko's nipples are a recurring co-star.

On-topic: uh, Lupin is as Japanese as Kiss Play?

oh custom class. that will probably take the cake, although the rodimus mold has SG rodimus and the japan exclusive wildrider, and the TFCC free fig. I would also like to throw the Inferno mold in there as it now has Henkei, Universe, generations, botcon and now the million publishing Artfire.

Now that I think about it, Voyager Prime might be up there too thanks to the insane aftermarket prices, as well as the various Lucky Draws.

d'oh, forgot about Lucky draws. Voyager prime wins then as there's gold and crayola versions, with the crayola version being one of the rarest lucky draws ever (if I remember correctly)
Gojira Prime
I just wanna say, I actually want to see this vision of Kiss Players you're describing: just a total satirical deconstruction of the core concept. Show the same stuff, but swap the genders and defetishize everything. Personally, I would find it hilarious.

Re: AA UK comic. If anything, the official comic would have been a ton of publicity for the hasbro/comic. Getting people hooked with a free issue they may have not been interested in buying is only good. Doesn't make any sense.

He is known as "FUCKING FORDO DAMMIT" on toyark. Get two of him. He's shipping again soon.

Malgus is hip-ball-less. New Vader looks pretty nice. Wish I could find a Bastila when she was out. She kept up the "I can't find KOTOR toys" tradition.

Great episode overall.

Just finished the Kiss play part....needless to say i myself almost puked from laughing too much

Not at all.. When it was brought up more than one time during a podcast, one that is front paged on a website, just wanted to make sure it was known that we had nothing to do with it since their was some conjecture to the contrary by the hosts.

We do not get involved with other licensees projects...
Sol Fury
I believe you Pete. Simon is on the level, he said the word came down from Hasbro themselves. I seriously doubt you guys even knew anything about it before the announcement that it was not happening, just like the rest of us.

It's another one of those sad things really, we don't get that comic, we get an awesome fan-made production instead. I'd say it's a way of bringing a win out of a loss.
Fosterlager
Yeah, fan-made is often every but as good as official product, and sometimes worlds better! I look forward to the finished product and I'd love to hit AA proper in the future

Ok Vangelus, you keep talking about Glyos, and it sounds pretty interesting, so where do I go to buy this stuff?
Kantus Prime
I never wanted to know why Kiss Players are weird, but thats no longer possible.... <This was a bad choice of emoticon.......

Thanks for the mental scaring Vangelus
Tikin
Great episode as usual, had me laughing at the Kiss Players bits and finally pushed me over the edge on the Mass Effect art book.
(Though you did remind me my victory pack free character was a Batarian sentinel, not a Geth infiltrator or Krogan vanguard like I was hoping. )

Have a website:
Glyos Transmission Web Log
And a thread:
http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/toyark...s-figures.html

Vangelus' ramblings are what got me to look into Glyos, and now I'm hooked. If you want a recommendation try a buildman, a phase arm set and an axis joint set, it'd only run you about $15 shipped (depending on where you live?). If any of the painted stuff catches your eye though jump on it.
UltraPrimal
I agree with Vangelus:

I think it'd be a smart idea for third party manufacturers to focus only on doing Kiss Play homages. Because in order for Hasbro to confront them about it, they'd first have to acknowledge that Kiss Play exists.

I've heard about Kiss Play before ... never was interested ... and now I am sooo disinterested in it it's amazing Absolutely hilarious segment.
Seth Buzzard
Anyone that had difficulty with the Kiss Play segment, blame Japan they started it.

The Drell wrecked there own planet, then they go to the Hanar planet where they pay back the Hanar's hospitality by getting Kepral's Syndrome and becoming a healthcare burden. I have to spend a game listening to one go on and on and on about how he's dieing and then he doesn't even bother to die from it. THEN while waiting for him to finally kick the bucket his weird ass kid is praying to there goofy fish god to help me like he knows me. Like Shepperd needs the help of some soggy mythological figure.

I would have to listen back to that segment to remember exactly what we said and how we said it but yeah and link to Botcon and what happened to AA would have been conjecture in an effort to understand decisions and actions that have been made recently and how they could end up effecting other shows.

Since it came up again during the podcast...I've gone to the past three SDCCs and will be going back again this year. It is a fun experience, but yes it's a shitton of people crammed into the Convention Center down there milling around and you spend more than half of your time (depending on how much bouncing around you do) waiting in line to get into the next panel or to get to buy a certain exclusive from Hasbro or Mattel or whatever.

I think it's worth it to do it at least once in your life but if you're terribly impatient and/or hate large crowds it may not be a thing to do several times. I live in California (about two and a half hours from San Diego) and have a friend in the area I can stay with rather than shack up in a hotel, so I'm able to avoid certain pains in the ass compared to others that make the trip.

It really is "Nerd" Disneyland in terms of amount of stuff to do, amount of time waiting in line for crap and the onslaught of people that are there each day.

Good listen guys. I'd love to see you guys post pics for your off topic stuff.

Also, Vangelus, if you bring that game to Botcon how do you play it with both Americans and Canadians?
Simes
Only part way through listening to the show and loving it so far. Thought it was worth me posting though to answer a couple of points...

First, I want to support Pete's comments about Botcon / Fun Pub in relation to what happened with our comic. We had been working closely with IDW for some time and apart from a few people on the Auto Assembly team, our cover artist / colourist, John Barber and his team at IDW and the relevant people at Hasbro, the existence of comic was kept pretty much under wraps as we wanted to keep it a surprise.

We did announce it vaguely on our website as being part of our goodie bag, but nothing apart from the fact that we were going to have one so I think I'm probably right in saying that the first thing Pete and the rest of the FP team knew about our 2012 comic was when we made the announcement about its cancellation so I think people should give Pete and the guys at FP a break on this.

In terms of what happened, there's usually a three stage process for exclusive covers. Once we have the creative team in place we have to come up with the cover idea, pitch that to IDW (sometimes with a rough sketch) and that has to be approved by Hasbro (as they do with all the "regular" comics. With our two previous exclusives Hasbro had to approve the concepts and the finished artwork before we could get both books into print and we had to work within set guidelines to make them acceptable.

This time, we discussed a lot of ideas for what we wanted on the cover and involved John Barber in all of this to make sure that we could do what we wanted. We brought in Marvel UK artist Jeff Anderson to keep the "old school" Marvel style and even replicating the old character box on the cover and IDW even loved the dual number idea. Everything was ready to go, we had the cost sorted out, shipping quotes, publishing dates... pretty much all of it sorted and we were ready to make a public announcement pending a final approval from Hasbro (as IDW need to run everything past them)... and then the comic was pulled without any reason being given as far as we know.

It's been frustrating for us as it would have been our third officially licensed IDW comic (following on from 2009 and 2010) and has resulted in 1,000 lost sales for IDW. John Barber was fantastic in his help for us with trying to make this happen and he was just as disappointed as the rest of us. We weren't going to be making anything on this comic as we were going to be giving them all away to our attendees so the only people who lost out were Hasbro for their income and IDW for the immediate sales and potential knock-on sales from people who may not have bought Issue #81 apart from getting this free issue.

As for our own comic... at the moment it's 24 pages long (more if we get enough stories written beyond the strips we already have) and is still going to be free but we want it to be something special for our attendees. We don't want them to miss out on a comic this year and we think that everyone will enjoy what we are going to put together.

Also, +rep to the podcast for referencing those teacher threads is GD, even if by coincidence.
