Neat podcast. This one was also a bit more light on the content, but felt a lot more meaty than the last time I complained about that with all the off-topic discussions. Which isn't a bad thing! Brawnicron entering canon, various Thanksgiving insults, Alpha Flight, Canadian Rage Eh, Rock Lords... I never wanted it to end!

This episode was very and as always I enjoyed it....keep it up guys.

Both Drew and I. I had allergies bad, although I did mute it most of the time. Actually now that I think about it, I only missed a few mutes, so most of them must have been Drew.

you guys were talking about possibly sharing black Friday stories in the next episode. I think this story should be dicussed. A local Wal-mart employee died on black friday. It sickens me to think that the day after thanksgiving some poor man didnt go home to his family because people had to shop. Some of which were probably getting TF toys so its kinda related?

^Though I highly doubt the people who rushed the doors and trampled that poor man were making a B-line for the Animated two packs.

Absolutely, i have no idea what they were shopping for but it's still horrible. I just threw the TF toys in there to form some sort of connection.

I'm lovin' the podcast as always guys. I posted the following in the general discussion board, but I'm putting it here as well because you all hated on Drew for not being an Animated fan. Okay, here goes:

Is Animated really all that?
I've got the last episode in season 1 to finish, but I think I've been pretty patient, so here are my problems:

1. TFA producers said they hated the fact that Megatron and the 'Cons always lost in battle, and that they posed no real threat in the '80s cartoon. Their answer: fewer battles with the 'Cons (who still lose every battle), and lots of uninspired human villains.

2. "Character development"- please someone tell me when this happens. Prime is aloof, Bumblebee is annoying, Bulkhead is an idiot. I find Prowl and Ratchet to be the most tolerable, but even then they are still caricatures, as are most of the 'Cons. Blitzwing is a disgrace. Black Arachnia is the only interesting character, and she was relegated to just about a single episode in the first season.

3. Overall tone-- and this is a complaint I have about most cartoons of the day. I know I'm watching a tv show for kids, but do I have to be reminded of it every second? There are shows like Justice League that don't talk down to their audiences. I think the second half of TF Armada even had a better (IMO), more serious tone, even if it did eventually become bogged down in its own melodrama with Unicron. If a show won't take itself seriously, why should I? And if not, why not strike a balance with the humor? Beast Wars did this perfectly. Sari epitomizes all that I dislike about Animated, and she needs to go.

Now yes, this may be a rant, but I can't be the only one feeling like this. I think Animated does a lot of great things-- it brings TF to a new generation, it's a great marketing tool for kids to give them something to watch between the movies, its animation style (while I am not a big fan) is quite colorful and inspired. Let's also not forget the fact that it pays TONS of lip service to the old school fans. But I want more. I was born in '86 and wasn't even alive for the original airing of G1. My earliest memory of TF was with Tommy Kennedy and Powermaster Optimus. The bots of those days were the bots I fell in love with. Beast Wars and Machines were great too with deeper plots and characters than the original. They continued and expanded the original G1 universe rather than reboot it. RiD should never have happened. Armada as I said before had a compelling story, although the animation was severely lacking. The remainder of the Unicron trilogy was a bad joke or an abomination depending on your mindset. While Animated has a few perks, I think it doesn't hold a candle to the good 'ol days. Since everything is getting a reboot now, I would love to see something based more on the current Furman/McCarthy comicverse.

But now is a good time to be a TF fan with the movie and all that jazz. I just expect a little more from the powers that be.

Yes it's a horrible story but it's not the sort of topic we cover. And it would be a big stretch to make it into a TF story. Sure we go off topic but it's never planed and it's not into something tragic like that story.

For the record: I dig Animated. I've watched a bunch of ep's and am constantly tempted to pick up that Prime vs. Megs two-pack. I just haven't had much time to shoe-horn it in to my little free time.

Although when Rodimus comes out, I'll pick him up the first time I see him.

Hey Buzz, I picked up the Megs Christmas ornament about a month or so ago and I agree he is pretty cool. He's hanging right next to my Prime on my tree.

Don't do it Drew. They are okay at best, but in all honesty are the weakest figures of the line. If you got the cash spring for a leader Ultra Magnus or a voyager Prime.

On a side note, I would really love a pair of underwear that have "I heart Super_megatron" embroidered on the crotch. I'm just saying.

^The Prime figure is pretty nice, I will agree that the Megs figure is sort of meh, but far better than the voyager Megatron.

Love the podcast guys...excellent work! I did have to pause it for a few hours though as my district manager came in to use my office and he already cracked on me the other day after seeing I had visited He-Man.org on the back office computer. Lord knows he would've had a hayday if he knew I was listening you guys too!

Well, the last one hit me in the face. I cried a lot.

Yeah I know my bro has every Animated fig and when I've stopped in for the holidays I've fiddled with them all.

I just like the idea of two-packs.

I'm not alone.

I have the two pack, and while it's nothing to lose sleep over, I really dig 'em. Megsy is floppy as hell in the hips, though, but if Prime had a regular face I'd really dig him.

At my local Walmart, there are a few Ultra Magnuses, Bulkhead, Roll out Optimus, Voyager Universe, quite a few Universe Deluxes, Animated Deluxes.

And as was mentioned the podcast A lot of Movie voyager and deluxe figures. I couldn't believe they put those Movie figures out. Some of them had dust all over them, like they were being saved for this holiday season, LMAO when I saw them.

I finally just gave up and ordered Ultra Magnus with that new "HasbroToyShop 25% off with free shipping" promo code and got him for like $33 shipped! And I also used that coupon code to order my third attempt at the Cloverfield monster, which is actually a better deal than my first attempt. All in all, the whole order for both figures should have cost me about $170 after shipping and taxes, and I got them both for $115 shipped. Not too shabby.

Who is that during the podcast that constantly thinks he can sing segment intros? Because he really can't...

So Vangelus, what degree are you going for? Computer Science or Computer Engineering or something else entirely?

I went in aiming at Computer Science, and will likely not follow through with that. Hoping to go towards Comp Sci/Visual Arts or Multimedia.

Main goal is "get magic piece of paper that makes more workplaces want me, regardless of the topic of the magic piece of paper".
