Have Your Transformers Collection Featured on TFW2005

Hey everybody!

I'm gonna lay down some procedures I would like for us to follow so that we can get the ball rolling on Archiving all you guys (and gals) collections.

There are gonna be some guidelines that need to be followed, these guidelines will make it easier for all of us in the end. This applies to everyone that is interested in having their collection archived here at TFW2005

1. Pictures.....lots of them...thats what I want to see...and I mean a lot of them too! I know you all have some good sized collections, the more pics, the merrier.

2. Take your time, shoot some really nice photos of your stuff. Also, take some time and edit your pics. Crop off dead space when possible. Use good lighting...theres nothing worse than trying to make out whats in a blurry or dimly lit pic.

3. Name your files!....please do this!! I don't want to get pics that have goofy "camera gibberish" names. The BEST way to name your files is to simply title it what series of your collection it is, followed by a space, and then 001. for example: Alternators 001, Alternators 002, Alternators 003, etc. When you're doing this, you can easily set it up so that it will display them in the order in which you want them to, plus having the extra zeros in there keeps you from having order problems when you hit the numbers 10 and up.

Example:

NOT Accepted: DSC5323501.jpg
NOT Accepted: SeekerswingsG1zoomed.jpg
Accepted: Seekers G1 001.jpg

4. So, you have followed the steps above, and now it gets even easier for you!

Place all your pics that you want to submit into a ZIP file.... ZIPping up all your pics together not only makes it so you only have one single item to upload, but it also makes things tremendously easy for myself as well. I would only have to download one file this way. Once I unZIP it, it will automatically create a folder on my computer with all your stuff in it.

All you have to do then is email the ZIPped file to me here

Please copy the email address into your email program if you are having a problem using the link above

Make sure you include your board/username in the title of your email!!

Please resize your pics/files before sending them. There is no reason that one pic has to be over 200KB in size. All pics need to be within this size. A little over is o.k. Pics that are over 250KB have to be resized before they can be uploaded. Please take the time to do this.

Example:

Plowkings Alternator Collection

Once I receive them, I'll go thru them, make sure that they are all good, if there are any problems, I will contact you here and let you know what I need.

After all that is said and done, I will go about the process of adding them to the Collections Gallery.

So lets get those cameras going!!

I agree, my collection is boxed for moving and might not be back on display for several weeks. Plus I stink with a camera.

question. My brother and I have our collections displayed in the same place can I send it in as Cryoprime and Tahuprime's Collections, so We don't have to send it in seperate?

How do you zip files? I have no idea!

I'm going to have to take all new pics since the ones in my collection thread are old and my set-up has changed since then. Oh, well. Been meaning to do that anyway!

Is there any collection size required? I mean, are you looking for 200+ collection, o does my 60 TFs collection have a space there as well?

Do you two have your pics saved on your computer?...or are they only here in the Collections Forum?

Yeah, you can send it like that...no problem. Just remeber thats how I'll list it in the Collections Gallery too.

Got you covered: For Windows users, ZIPing is easy as pie. Simply right-click the folder that has your image files for your submission, and point to the option "send-to" that appears, and then click on "compressed folder". That's it!

As long as you guys send me at least 30 good pics, (thats just one page of pics!) I'll be more than happy....but like I said, the more the merrier....its eye candy for the rest of your fellow members!!

This might be fun oh pk besides Transformers is it okay to included other things I've collected like for example my Transformers share the same floor with Godzilla if not I'll try to crop them out when I take pictures.

Grr... just typical that my collection shelves got ravaged by my two young cousins last weekend.

Haven't mustered up the courage yet to try and sort everything out

I have vaccation , but I dont know if I want to use a whole afternoon in a Shurgard storage hall, with toys around me as far as the eye can see.

things is..its just not TFs, it would be Star Wars, and more Star Wars and then a little more Star wars, then throw in McFarlane Spawns and Movie maniacs, then throw in Transformers , then throw in more Star Wars and then some AvP on that..and then it goes on and on

Hmm ... this could finally give me the push to start my documenting/sorting/organizing project for my TFs.

Thing is .... I've been trying to start for at least two whole years.

The fact that I can send everything as a ZIP file is great. No uploading individual images FTW!

A "Show your TF collection" contest? And all my figures are boxed up to be moved to my new house I'll probably try to get pics out when I'm fully moved.

heres a question...what if my collection keeps growing with new stuff and i fill in the gaps in my collection (vintage stuff). wouldn't it be a lot of work to keep sending you guys pix? can we not use photobucket links like i already do? i just updated most of my pix but havent opened 3 weeks worth of stuff still =o).

I'm going to get to work on this as soon as I get done reorganising the collection. Just got three more items today, couple of Animated and a Code Geass MSIA

Easy. Your collection keeps growing, your Gallery keeps growing. All you have to do is submit them to me. Lets say you send me all you got right now, I'll make the gallery for it, and then as your collection grows, lets say you send me 15 pics at a time from that point on of all the new stuff as you acquire it.

I zipped the files and tried to attach them to an email using hotmail and it wont work, keeps going to 'internet explorer cannot display the webpage' ANy idea why this is?

i have the same issue. hotmail only allows a file size of 10 mb. your zip file is prolly larger than that. mine was 62522 kb. so i hafta shrink all my pix dammit.

Miasboytoy, maybe you can do like Rodster6 and send them to me in groups....like G1, G2, Armada, Energon....stuff like that. It worked for Rodster6.

OK, I had to send two email messages, because im limited to 10MB per message. I dont uasually have my collection set up, they're all packed away, so I opened a couple boxes and spent a few hours setting them up for pics. Hopefully ill be able to unpack another couple boxes next weekend. Maybe I can aquire a better camera too.

YES!...this is correct.

Anytime, anybody wants to add pics to your collection gallery, all you have to do is follow the same procedure that you used to send me the first batch.

Just be sure to number them accordingly, so they will fall right in place into your gallery

So if you got a gallery already, but you got some pics of some new stuff?...send them my way, I'll make sure they get in there

If I do a major reorganization of a shelf, what I'm thinking of doing with my universe/classics shelf once my city commander comes in, do you want me to rename the files to be the same name as the old shelf and you can replace those or do you want me to continue the numbering and you can just tack them on the end?

The choice is yours. I can remove the old pics, and replace them with the newer ones, or I can just add them in.

I can always update a gallery for you guys, some of you already know this, but its not a big deal, if you get some new stuff, and you wanna add the pics of it to your gallery, all you gotta do is follow the same procedure as you did when you first submitted your collection, just include in the subject line that the new pics are either "replacement pics" (letting me know what pics you are replacing) or just "newly added" pics...either way, they will be added.

I'm working on my gallery. I'm trying to finish one of my shelves in my display case. After that, I'll get some pics started.

I'm going over all my pictures now, and I'm just wondering if it's ok that there's some other stuff among than just TF's, or is it stricttly TF's only collection ?

If you got other stuff in the mix with your displayed TF collection that's fine, cant get around that.... but as it stands right now, just the Tf's.
