Decide your top five candidates for the Hasbro Transformers Hall of Fame

After lengthy consideration (and going over the previous thread with a fine toothed comb) we have arrived at a final list of characters for your consideration for the fifth spot on the Hasbro Transformers Hall of Fame. The characters are as follows:


Devastator, Beast Wars Dinobot, Grimlock, Rodimus, Ironhide, Jazz, Jetfire, Prowl, Shockwave, Soundwave, Unicron and Wheeljack.

Dinobot needs to win. Not only has he got more personality then all the other candidates put together, but we need someone to represent Beast Wars. Didn't think any of those others really deserve it as much with the possible exception of Soundwave. Why Grimlock of all charatcers is even there I have no idea.

Besides the already chosen four most non-fans vaguely remembers "that cool blue tapedeck guy with the badass voice".
So Soundwave. Grimlock is also up there as iconic and probably should have had the sixth place if it were 6 members that they wanted.

I expect all of the listed candidates to eventually make it into the Hall of Fame, but are any of them really more iconic than Soundwave?

I am very disappointed that Smokescreen did not make the list. So, I will vote for Grimlock instead.

I'm basing mine on the "memorability" element. I know that the casual TF fan would most likely remember "the tape guy" - Soundwave. I'd put Grimlock after him, then Devastator.

These all deserve a spot though.

My vote goes to Dinobot. As far as my opinion goes, his defining moment still stands as the greatest episode out of all Transformers history, and the character development leading up to it remains one of the best looks at a character 's mindset, and personality.

Danger is the anvil upon which trust is forged; we slowly learned to trust him, just like the Maximals. We saw him struggle with his sense of conflicted loyalties between his Predacon heritage, and his newfound Maximal comrades. We saw him slowly transition, change, grow, and transform over the course of war.

It's said that war changes everything, changes people; it's true. His experiences and life changed not only him, but, his comrades as well. He was instrumental in turning the tide of fate, not once, but rather twice. Dinobot was a warrior, and now, a legendary example of what a Transformers character can be.

"Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly, the ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly. The rest... is silence."

But to bad you can't pick two, since I would have picked Dinobot also.

Rodimus! Maybe if we show them we like other Leaders then maybe we will get a cartoon one day where Optimus isn't the main character Leader

If I could choose two, I would've chosen Soundwave and Dinobot, but I ended up going with Soundwave. I do want Dinobot to show up, but not necessarily before the Decepticon's Communications Officer. Though I'd be glad if either of those two nabbed it.

Wheeljack! He, then Bumblebee were in the first scene of the series that started it all! And he invented the Dinobots! (Voting for myself would be too self centered and I'm a team player. But I'm honored to be included on the list of Hall of Fame candidates!)

My votes would go for BW Dinobot, Jazz, and Ironhide in that order. Let's face it, Dinobot is one of the most complex and badass characters there is in transformers lore so you gotta go with him. Then Jazz is Jazz, 'nough said and same with Ironhide. Those are my thoughts.

Edit: Oooooo. Also, ditto on what Icespark said on Dinobot's behalf. Plus there HAS TO BE some Beast Wars love on the first five in the hall of fame . It arguably saved the franchise and was just amazing on top of that.

Soundwave gets my vote easily. Grimlock should be next.

No way should Dinobot get in before Grimlock. There wouldn't be a Dinobot if it weren't for Grimlock.

I voted for Dinobot.... Beast Wars needs some love and the hall of fame shouldn't be all G1 characters!!! Personally, I would have preferred BW Megatron... yeessssss

I would have voted for Dinobot, but if anything, I think Primal deserves that spot more. I voted for the only other Autobot leader (in the American cartoons) that wasn't an Optimus, Rodimus.
