I would like to point out that they drew FoC Swoop really wrong in that cover. He actualy looks like he can move his arms and legs like a functional organism and that goes against the lore and style of the games.

Rob Liefeld should've been the ideal artist for a series using those designs.

Incompetent as they are sometimes, the Prime writers are anything but gooftarded. The Dinobots will probably just be intelligent commandos like in the game.

I can't wait to check out the Dinobots in the TFP comic!

This makes me VERY happy and it's still a hint of them coming up on the show even if Hasbro said not really!

Wow this thread became incredible in the last half hour.

I loathe Prime Tailgate so much for poisoning minds into thinking Tailgate isn't the incredibly adorable and entertaining little sprite he is in MTMTE. The fact that people even compare them or mention the Prime "version" russles my James'.

To be quite fair Prime Tailgate was only for a few seconds so we didn't see what his character's really like. For all we know if he had lived he'd be just like his MTMTE version.

I'm making the easy prediction that Shockwave will be the tie in. I doubt Dino's will be in the show. Sadly.

And no, he can't be like the MTMTE version. That's not me being me, it's like he actually can't. MTMTE Tailgate is shaped by circumstances that really can't be replicated.

And even if he was, that just makes it worse since they then just killed off the best character in the show.

Yes. As much as I'm not a fan of the Dinobutts, ANY new characters are a welcome injection of life into the dead, empty, lifeless world of Prime.

On one hand, the amount of info is really disappointing. On the other...I'm glad that they didn't spoil who's in the DJD. I was worried that they would, and I'd rather let it be a surprise.

I doubt it. The Dinobots are major characters in the game and in the algined countinutiy and the worst case is that they get stuck on Cybertron for a while then later they get to Earth on the show. And that the writers said that while they may not appear on the show yet they also didn't say they won't be like Ironhide.

It's less than perfect---the writer tries to shoehorn in a few too many characters than I'm sure the show's character model 'budget' could realistically allow, but the overall concept of the Dinobot characters matches up decently with their portrayal in other recent media (FoC, IDW) and still gels with the feel of the show.
I'm just sayin'...it's possible. Likely, maybe not...we're lucky we got the LSC in the new game at all....

I honestly forgot TFP Tailgate even existed. In fact, after reading a bunch of MTMTE issues something clicked and I was like "Wait, wasn't there someone else in recent TF fiction who was named Tailgate?

Guess all the hurrah over Dinobots in FoC pretty much convinced Hasbro to find some way of featuring them in Prime.

The Dinobots can stay in the comics but not in the cartoon.

Shockwave > Dinobots. I'm looking forward to Shockwave more than them, even though Grimlock is one of my favourite characters.
