Next up from our team at the San Diego Comic Con 2012 are pictures of the Transformers Rescue Bots display. There's not much in the way of new toys here - but the line is expanding with rucksacks and lunchboxes including a rather cool vinyl rucksack adorned with Heatwave's noggin! Read on and check out the images!

Keep it TFW for more updates, and check out our fellow sites Hisstank and Toyark for more SDCC 2012 coverage!

I'm actually sort of glad that there isn't anything new coming out, they need to re-release previous stuff. Seeing the "Available NOW" on Boulder's card makes me laugh.
MaxxieOD
I actually want a couple of those things lol...

Glad to see they updated the poster stuff to the show's designs instead of the toy designs heh.

Top shelf Cody Burns (as a 10 year old)
Middle shelf Cody Burns as an Adult.

I hope they release what they have through this year and then totally reboot the line for next year.

Shame they only give partial vehicles with the playsets - they might have found a home for a Blue chase toy then.

I sincerely hope Hasbro makes a ton of money from this line.

They'll make some of my money. My boy is turning 4 in a month and wants a Rescue Bots party. I wish I could find Blades and Chase, he has the other 2 plus Bee and OP. And that mobile HQ is like fried gold wrapped in bacon, must have. I hope it'll be on the show.

The HW backpack and the lunchkit are too cute!! Glad to see a couple of new things...where was Blades tho?

Looking at the toys on display and they seem to be the same old, same old, the tags even have Avail. NOW...hmm.

Well...for those of us who have been looking, we know they are not out there. Oh, the scattered one or two, usually broken by the kids playing with them in the stores. So, hopefully they'll be shipping those bots out again...maybe in time for Xmas?!?!?!?!
Chris McFeely
They really need to get on to making figures of the humans as they actually appear in the show.
WTDylio
Fuck me I need that Heatwave bag
CrockAlley
Is Hasbro done with RB? They're disappearing from all the stores around here, and now no new toys. Hmm.

one thing the Chase toy is black and white isn't chase blue and white?

Those toys came before the show. If you look, the head designs on all of them is different too.
kimurao2
I wish they looked more like the tv show. My boys got an eye for details. Great show!
MaxxieOD
Ahh new stuff! Very cool! Show accurate too, tho Boulder is apparently missing...

I noticed the "weapons"...Heatwave with his axe you never see in the show lol...but Chase has a grappling claw? And Blades with his hook...cool.
ORIO
I wish they'd add some new bots. lots of potential here

Wow! Miniature PVC versions of screen-accurate Rescue-bots and Humans! XD
DecepticonSpike
Hasbro, why can't you give me a figure of Dani?
RedAlert Rescue
It would be a shame if they only make Show based Humans with that limited articulation, I'd have been prepared to buy straight repaints of all the existing tools just to get decent humans.

I wish Hasbro had the common sense to realize that if your going to do a boxed set then that is where you sell the female and other more obscure characters. So if they did giftsets I'd want the likes of Doc Green, Danni, Frankie, Doctor Morroco even Huxley and the Mayor in them. That seems the only way they'd ever sell Dani since they seem to insist kids won't buy girl characters (Thought does not Mattel's Rescue Heroes line disprove this ?).

I always think that's weird as I know that some female figures toys were must haves ; Say April O' Neil from TMNT or Solitare from the Rock Lords.

Some lines I can think of would have been made tons better by more females Micronauts or Battlebeasts for example.

I'm still irked that they never made a figure of Lioness from ATOM despite making a team boxed set and a female villan that was 75% the same as her.

Rescue Bots as a line would be incomplete without Danni, Doc & Frankie to me. But then I'm daft enough to want Chief Burns in his Bikini apron as a toy.

The show-accurate PVC figures are probably experimental to see how well they would sell, since Rescue Bots in general is a side line to Prime right now. And I'm pretty sure Dani's figure exists, not all of the PVC figures can possibly be shown in those provided high-quality pics. Notice how Boulder and Chase are missing despite their respective human partners being there, and Cody comes with a playset IIRC so he can't be partnered up with Blades.

(I would like to point out how HILLARIOUS Chief Burns looks in that he's so dang skinny due to the toy mold needing to be compatible with existing RB gear, but other than that the show-accurate figures look excellent. Now, Hasbro, make us Classics versions that are just as accurate and far more articulate than the existing robots!)
ShakesDaKlown
Um, I like Heatwave's axe and OP's saw. Makes me think horribly bloody thoughts.

Just sayin'. It's off my chest now. Carry on.
WTDylio
Their heads still look odd, but they're much better than before
