Neat. Apparently there's only a run of 150 for the Autobot + Decepticon one, and 375 each for the Autobots and Decepticons individual designs. With limited quantities, whatever doesn't sell at the Con, available on the website on Monday: TRANSFORMERS - Acidfree Gallery LLC

A little pricy for me, but I like the style.
Digilaut
Wow, glorious.
agentofprime
I really like them, think I'm going to have to try and get them on Monday.
Russian fan
Interesting artwork! I liked almost black-white version.
Nyarlahotep

Simple wall paper I threw together for folks who like the color one.
naldopr
damn so nice but 65 buck for just a poster plus their shipping is expensive at least to puerto rico

Heh... I did similar a while back... Overlayed the two colored ones on the grayscaled version... I like the little graphic splitting prime and Megs. Dig the lighter tones.

TrueNomadSkies
Holy scrap, that would make an awesome Yugioh playmat

If anyone at the show could hook me up with the variant, I can paypal Immediately or offer something in trade. I have an extra Hasbro MP Thundercracker. LMK.
Ruthless Cynic
Dying for the variant, I can paypal immediately as well.
MetalicGrunt
If someone could pick me up any version of the 3, i can pay asap as well
hordeall
if someone can get these for me please let me know

I can buy and can also trade a mp10 optimus prime

looking for one of each colored and the black and white
xavieralucard
If someone would also pick up the Black and White Autobots and Decepticons at the show I would gladly PayPal them the money today (need to have prior feedback).

See my feedback below.
Duomaxwell1017
I was able to get one of the color ones of the Autobots and I was soo happy that I was able to get one. I got number 153/375. Cant wait to get a frame for this!!!
Deceptigtar
Prints are up on their site for sale now variants are gone.
Deceptigtar
Nm all gone now.
coldblooded
Wow I try to post it but they were gone in minutes! I got lucky and got a autobot one.
hordeall
ugh wanted these bad if someone is selling pm me
joshua
Scored both of the regulars on the site. Tom Whalen prints are so good.

The Variants were oversold on the site, didn't care for it anyways.
Niv3k
Can someone make an HD wallpaper out of this?
03Mach1
Had the variant in my grasp only to watch it sell out while I was going through the check out process. Damn.
joshua
There were only 15 of the variant posted. Had it in my cart, didn't want it though.
Quicky
...of course these would go up while I'm out on errands. Oh well, AcidFree Gallery doesn't get my money. IMO they made too little of these 'limited' run posters. I put these in my wishlist and I was never contacted about ordering these at all.
Ruthless Cynic
Same thing happened to me Mach, also they oversold the regular editions I am praying that I don't have my order cancelled. I am dying for the variant.
Ruthless Cynic
Anyone else surprised that these sold so quickly? I remember quite a few people were incredulous at the prices when they were first announced.
hordeall
Im sure a lot of them were sold just to flip

the black and white goes for 170-200 on ebay

the regulars go for about $100 each

I dont know why they would make the limit at 3 each they should have had them at one of each poster

Even at silly prices they only made 375 of the color ones and 150 of the variants. I was shocked they didnt sell out at the show! Luckily I was camping the site at 12:30 and got both the color prints. (Got the order done pretty quickly, so hopefully not in the oversold bunch)
skiss
To bad these will sell out before the end of the week when I could grab one. I'm content with the awesome wall papers you guys put up in the first page. Thank you very much guys.

Not really. Many of Acid Free's artists are also mainstays at Mondotees.com so they already have a rabid fan base of collectors who, apparently, are able to stay home any day of the week and scoop up $50 prints. Selling out in minutes or even seconds is the norm. I doubt may TF collectors even purchased them online.
Ruthless Cynic
I was able to load the site and even have the variant in my cart all the way to the second checkout confirmation, but I guess it wasn't meant to be without me paying a premium. I do like Mondotees stuff but it is always a pain to get, but usually you can get it on ebay for a small mark up. Not so on this at least so far.
naldopr
Damn I guess I will do mine in illustrator ( ;
245am
I picked up a full set of Transformers and GI Joes... just got a toy room and pumped about making these a centerpiece of the display!
soundwave69
Was able to get both prints, didn't even try for the variant. I'm surprised some people only wanted one or the other...they are companion pieces and look better together IMO.

I think AcidFree did a way better job on this than the hacks at Mondo. The edition size was large enough that a decent amount of people could get them but it's still limited. They also set aside half of the edition of regulars to be sold online...way more than Mondo would.

There is going to be a whole series of TF prints and Whalen is a great artist. I would regret it if I didn't have the first prints in the series.
Ruthless Cynic
A full series? Are they all going to be Whalen?
joshua
Mondo prints sell out within minutes. I felt this was run a little bit more smoothly because of the obscurity of Acid Free. I had no idea who they were before this. The editions are about the same as what Mondo does for their prints.

I do find it interesting that they used the same print shop, D&L Screenprint to make these prints.

I still have this gold variant screenprint that Mondo did, can't believe I got it at release. It was a release of 240.

joshua
Double post.

Different artists but I suppose Whalen could do more down the road, who knows.
joshua
I am a little DISAPPOINTED that the regualr editions are NOT signed, just numbered. And it comes with some stupid card of authenticity. I would have rather had it signed by Whalen.
Ruthless Cynic
My roommate got me into prints, it is madness. But there is no turning back now.

This pretty much sums it up. Collecting prints, especially Mondo prints, is a crazy and expensive hobby. Unfortunately, Mondo prints are predominantly controlled by scalpers. All of those people are fully aware of the after market value that good screen print art commands.

Luckily, I was able to score a set of the regular versions from the site.
Ruthless Cynic
Anyone going to frame the regular editions like they are the variant? I'm debating it, going to put them in the archival masterpiece glass frames regardless. Also any suggestions on where to purchase Mondo prints on the secondary market besides eBay?
soundwave69
I will be definitely framing my prints up when I recieve them. They are a little pricey to be tacked to the wall like a $5 poster from Wal-Mart.

I plan on framing them like the variant, matting and all in two frames.
Deceptigtar

joshua

coldblooded
