RIDForever.info Relaunched - Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Robots In Disguise!

Posted on 12-15-2011 at 04:47 PM by Tony_Bacala under Robots In Disguise
TFW2005 is proud to announce the launch of the all new RIDForever.info, our network's little side project that's been sitting around for years. The mini-site dedicated to any and everything "Robots In Disguise" has been completely redone, upgraded, and added-to, heavily. We've been working on this in the background for a while now, and just squeaked in the relaunch during December 2011, which happens to be the 10th Anniversary of Robots In Disguise in the United States! So, to celebrate the 10th anniversary, even if only for another 16 days, enjoy the all new RID FOREVER.

Things of note:
  • Completely redone site, new skin, layout, system.
  • Tons of new entries added for toys, coming very close to (or hitting) absolute completeness.
  • 3rd Party Merchandise area created, documenting the US, Japan, and Korean items.
  • All figures and 3rd party items we have access to have been reshot this year, using semi-professional gear and lighting.
  • Over 7000 New High Resolution Images of RID Toys, spanning 293 Entries for figures and merchandise.
  • Over 2500 High Quality Screen Captures, spanning all 39 Episodes. Sorted by Character.

Here are some pages of interest to get you started.

There is way too much to list here on what's new, so we invite you to check out the all new...

*hugs his RID DVD sets*

Damn, that toys page serves as a depressing reminder of how many Spychanger redecos I'm still hunting down, made all the more frustrating as the Universe decos were never released here.

And bookmarked. Sweet!

I have one! Well two actually, the episodes are split up into two boxes.

Region 2 though so not for you I guess.

What exactly is the back story on this site? Why the focus on RID?

It's been around for years, was created as a mini site dedicated to RID in like 2004 or so. But, not really updated.

I got a new camera this year, and wanted to start taking pics to practice, and Joe Moore suggested we start redoing the RID galleries, since we both like and have most of the figures. It then snowballed from there into a complete site re-do, gathering pretty much everything we could find and entering it in the system. Along with our toy galleries.

Basically, I like RID, it's the last line in Transformers I collected front-to-back, and I am still collecting it to this day, trying to get all the weird and expensive and rare stuff. So this is my documentation of that.
Megatronwp38
looks sweet. I still wish I had bought the clear car brothers and the TRU exclusive clear god fire convoy when I had teh chance & funds.
Omnius
So many toys still to buy... I'm nearly there with the show cast, and most of the off-screen guys, but the weird & wonderful (not to mention expensive & elusive) repaints are next!
Starfire22
Looks nice!

Kind of wish the hub re-aired the show.

Gotcha. I guess if there's any toy line to collect that wholly compliments it's media, it's RID.

Yay! I fucking love RIDForever. Great archival site. It convinced me to get the Predacons a few years back. :3
-Sideways-
to bad I cant view the wallpapers for some reason -_-
ErbFan28
Awesome, I haven't been to that site in a while. Like every else is saying, now its time for a complete series DVD set with bonus features...........................ok, I guess we don't have to have to bonus features

Well, since only me and Joe Moore knew about it, and he wasn't on, defaulted to me. This is more of a personal project then a "OMG Network Pimping".

I'm just glad I was finally able to do this:

spychangers - RIDForever
Kickback
Good to see it live. It was looking pretty hot a couple of months ago

Props to Joe Moore for being my tag team partner on this. We've been shooting galleries for all these toys for over 4 months now, non stop. He also kicked ass with the wallpapers, check the links on the home page out.

Let us know what you think! We did do this for the love of the series, line, toys. But, we'd like to get your feedback on how it's all presented, organization, completeness, etc. And of course, if we are missing anything, let us know here too!

Later!
Absolutely my favorite show of the last 10 years (not counting Prime). Still love the hell out of it!
Joe Moore
Glad people are liking it. Was a ton of shooting, resizing, reshooting. Just happy to finally let others see it.

I'd kill for a carrobots box set, it was my first vehicle TF series I got somewhat into more than A/E/C or G2.
Joe Moore
After I cleared out my collection, RID was the one line I refused to part with. And doing these shoots reminded me why I loved these figures.

Except for Megatron...Eff that thing.

Yeah, I find myself looking more and more at CR/RID stuff again, might be my focus in Dallas

I still remember standing in Walmart trying to decide between Prowl, Sideburn & X Brawn and being sooooo happy that Transformers were cars once again!

And my soon-to-be brother-in-law & sister-in-law got me Prime & Magnus for Christmas! Good times!

Awesome work you guys, looks great.
MachSabre
As this is one of my favorite TF lines, I find this very awesome.

Great work guys!
Ravenxl7
I hadn't realized it was down. Looks really good, and definitely seems to be an improvement from the original. Also, add me to the list wanting a complete RID DVD box-set released in the somewhat near future
Superquad7
One of my favorite resources just got much better!
shumworld
When the page said "3rd party" I was hopping for some kick ass add-on parts. xp
kiyoshioni
I apologize if this has been said already. Hell, I apologize if it hasnt.

It's photo level! It's OVER 9000!

Awesome work, love to see this site again. Would kill to see RiD get a DVD release, maybe I should consider finding the old Car Robot DVDs.
46+2
Need this DVD set.
Wyvern
Never watched RID. Am I missing much? I was never able to get into a series much after Beast Wars... But Scourge really intrigues me...
The_Black_Sheep
Ahhhh RiD. Sure we got some absolutely kick-ass figures from that line but thinking about it now - I haven't watched an episode of that show in years. Thank you guys for all the inspiration I'll ever need!
FanimusMaximus
Never heard of it.
LUGNUT1995
'Bout time this series got some respect. I can't help thinking of it as the "Forgotten series". I only have one RID figure, Powered-up X-Brawn (My first TF figure)........

......... I WANT MORE!!!

I do have half of series 1 and all of series 2 on DVD sets though, but they should release a complete series box-set to mark the anniversary.
bourdon
Really like this fun series, i have the dvds from U.K and they are zone free here: Transformers - Robots In Disguise - Series 1 [DVD]: Amazon.co.uk: Transformers: Film & TV and the other box set :Transformers - Robots In Disguise - Series 2 [DVD]: Amazon.co.uk: Transformers: Film & TV even if it said on the site that there are zone 2 and on the back cover of the box set they are zone free, so get them and enjoy!!
Trikeboy
wow, so many pictures and you missed one that I have . I have a Korean box Gigastorm (Trypticon remold/repaint) still with the box if you are interested.
Angelwave
Amazing that it's been over ten years since this series first aired (eleven when you count it as Car Robots). I remember watching the Japanese raw episodes at Transfandom, picked up a bit of Japanese because of it. And also, a lot of great figures from previous series and brand new ones.
